@fuzycheese Even if I had evidence of the existence of such a being, I could not love it. To demand love with the threat of destruction is reprehensible. When human leaders do this we call them megalomaniacs and madmen. The very idea that a being that designed and created the universe would need the love of tiny beings such as us in order to be complete, and that it would be so angered as to destroy us for failing to give it our perpetual adoration, is ludicrous. A celestial North Korea, indeed.
A God that makes people go through some dumb ritual in order to be accepted in his realm. i appreciate that you did not laughat his death. i expected you to and im glad you proved me wrong. but he did affect millions. he affected so many in such a positive way. "The joys that come from being a free thinker far outweigh the risks." he spoke out truth because "Speak out now. theres plenty of silence for the grave."
he did affect millions of ppl for the better. If there was a hell (which there isn't) why would God put him there after making him the way he was. He made Christopher an Anti-Thiest, you think he'd punish him for it?
I honestly can't imagine how anyone in this day and age can believe stories of which there is ZERO proof.
While you make sure you are good with the Jew with holey hands, makes sure you are good with Thor, Muhammad, Zeus, Horus, Lord Xenu, and all those other gods. Yeah, it's a lot of work....But better to be safe then sorry.......
@CorkPhop Each one of those fairy tales demands that only their God(s) can be worshiped. eg. Worshiping both Yahweh and Zeus won't win favor with either, according to their mythologies.
If there's any real God(s), I'm sure glad I'll be meeting them without having spent my life defending and worshiping fakes.
I think Christopher Hitchens made the world a better place. I didn't always agree with him, but he had the courage to speak out against what he felt was wrong with the world. However misguided you might think he was, he believed in himself and in the power of intelligent discourse. He gave a lot of people hope that that they too could have an impact on the world. He helped many people believe in themselves. I realize you think believing in God is important, but believing in yourself is, too.
Cancer is the body's inability to stop the process of healing, the same natural process in producing a placenta (that one pound organ attached to the uterine membrane which serves to nourish a developing baby). The essential anti-cancer vitamin is VITAMIN B17 (known as Amygdalin, and as Laetrile when extracted from apricot pips). I
Radiation, in any amount, harms living tissue. Chemo- “therapy” poisons healthy tissue. Of the 3 protocols in traditional (allopathic) cancer “therapy” : surgery, radiation & chemical, only surgery possesses some legitimacy when malignant (cancerous) growth has reached a certain stage. It is far better to avoid cancer than to treat it.
Honestly, using Hitch's death to try and perpetuate and advertise your own fantasy is pretty disgusting. You have no evidence to support your claims, neither does your scripture, so there are things that are better left unsaid. Not trying to censor here, btw, just looking for intellectual honesty and consistency. Using his death like this is pretty much pissing on everything he did, disregarding his wonderful work you claim to admire. Sounds rather hypocritical to me, to be honest.
Christopher Hitchens did affect millions of people for the better. Not only that, but his deliverance of reason and logic helped the world in a way that you, and the followers of your faith, never will.
@ZanimaDeepkoreX Atheists believe a lot of different things, much like Christians. The sheer number of different branches of Christianity illustrates how much Christians differ on their beliefs. Unlike Christians, atheists aren't all taking their cues from the same book. Because of this, one would expect them to be even more diverse in their opinions. I think most atheists and Christians agree where it really matters. Murder is bad, you should treat other people fairly, etc.
If your god exists and really is "just", then you or anyone else praying for Hitchens (or for anyone else) should have ZERO effect on their eternal destiny.
Does a perfect God allow people to go to heaven or hell based on whether other people prayed for them??? Can anything you do actually "save" someone from damnation??
This is the futility and idiocy of evangelizing for a god that is supposed to be fair.
Evangelism is simply religion's way of keeping the $ coming in.
He DID affect millions of people in a positive way BY leading them away from religion. Don't waste your time praying for his family, that's the last thing he would have wanted.
You said "finally succumbed" then "unfortunately". Please don't pray for him or his family, he wouldn't want you to waste your time. Unless science is a mass conspiracy to lead people astray, then it would seem God is not real.
It scares me, slightly, that there are still people in the world, intelligent enough to turn on a computer, that genuinely believe that the most important decision in life is which mythology you choose to subscribe to. Surely, if there IS a deity of some form, it must be looking down upon the earth and laughing it's head off at the moronic nature of the general populous.
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.",,,you are going against the word of god by parading your faith on youtube.
Pray for his family? Why not pray for Hitchens. If you're truly a Christian you'd be praying that God forgive him for his sins. If you're truly a Christian you'd say "take me instead". Instead you're trying to get other people to turn to God, out of fear. Despicable.
You aren't going to weigh in on whether Hitch is going to hell, but you insinuate that he will. Stay Classy Jesusfreek. You're a credit to forgiving nature of Christianity.
I can't accept Yahweh as the loving creator of all, simply for the fact he's racist. I've read the first five books of Moses and parts of Joshua, and so far all I have heard is Israelites Israelites Israelites. Everybody else just gets slaughtered.
Hitch is dead and no prayer will undo that. If praying will make you people feel better do it and be selfish.
Would it be more effective to pray that god wouldn't send people to hell. It is clear that an omnipotent omniscient entity of perfect justice could make that decision and still justify it. I Yahweh is what you claim it to be, the scriptures would be his word and he has the power to change his mind if he would wan't to. So if I were you, I would pray your god to be more humane.
Hitchens had nothing to do with driving me away from "the heavenly father", although I loved watching his debates. Reading the bible, learning about the history of Abrahamic religions and how they are affecting todays world, their stance that they have more rights to my body than I do, becoming interested in science all helped to "drive me away from the heavenly father" who, might I add, isn't that heavenly. Your god is kind of a dick.
You say the hitchens drove folks away from "our heavenly farther" yet you offer no proof that this being even exist the truth is hichens drove people towards logic and reason. If that resulted in their regeting your mythology than thats a good thing
most people who have read hitchens were already atheist, he did not turn anyone against god or religion he just put what we already thought into very entertaining books.
Also the one thing that I got from hitch was a thirst for knowledge and being driven to think and gain my own opinion.
On the contrary while informing millions of people on the hypocritical and non logical belief in sun gods, he also steered them away from the belief in a ruler of the underworld that you " good god fearing people" must to use in order for your children to respect your authority.
So every single person that became an atheist 'specifically' because of Hitchens, will also not become a Satan worshiper either. Not that I could ever speak for Hitchens, but on his behalf, You're welcome.
lets all accept zombie jesus blah blah...oh no its too late I'm gonna burn in an imaginary place controlled by two imaginary and warring creatures. I am so glad he "drove" people away from illogical beliefs. so even though this was a tribute to Christopher Hitchens you still managed to use the well known christian scare tactics of blah blah repent or the loving god will burn you in hell for your own good...cuz he can't stand to be around sin yet "he" created it....WTF christianity is so funny!
Thanks you for not attacking Hitchens by saying he is burning in Hell. However, I think Hitchens had the courage to say what many people are thinking. Just because he did not support religion does not mean he never helped many people.
Hitchens did affect millions and millions of people for the better. Theistic religions are sugarcoated poisons, that Hitchens did a great job pointing out - and not just the Christian flavor of poison.
I'm curious : Do you consider all the Muslims that left/leave their godcult because of Hitchen's work a good thing?
Imagine you died and the next day a soft-spoken, well-meaning atheist posted a video informing all atheists to remember that your son should believe his father is not in heaven, that your beliefs amounted to nothing and that you now cease to exist.
No doubt you would find it vulgar and the most outspoken atheists, such as Hitchens, would agree with you. A perfect example of how even gentle theism can endorse despicable comments such as these from even the most seemingly kindest theists.
Hitchens miss guided? This is coming from the "good slavery" man him self. Yea I saw that video before you removed it. After that stunt it is impossible to take anything you have to say serious. Let me remind you of Hitchens words. Religion poisons everything. You are but one of many examples.
I endorse a different version of Pascal's Wager. I believe I will gamble with my soul and hope that I go to hell where I can roast in the flames along side heroes like Hitchens and Spinoza rather than spend a moment in history next to people preaching this rubbish.
To all of you Christians who are rejoicing over Hitchens in Hell...don't you dare talk to me about the "love of Christ". After seeing you with your genitals in your hands whipping yourself to a frenzy about torture and suffering I just won't be able to take you seriously.
If Hitch was a Muslim apologist you would have no bloody problem with what he was doing. Religious people just can't stand that there are people who don't accept bollocksed claims. Why is it so hard to understand that your claims are too amazing to be trusted without evidence.
Ding Dong! The Hitch is dead. Which old Hitch? The Wicked Hitch! Ding Dong! The Wicked Hitch is dead. Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed. Wake up, the Wicked Hitch is dead. He's gone where the goblins go, Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out. Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low. Let them know The Wicked Hitch is dead !!!
@poolstic63 jezuzfreek does not have a religion, and dont condemn him for any hate that he might have within him, because we all have hate in our hearts. even you.
satan lost a great soldier. thank God this guy is dead. I can't see how someone who doesn't believe in God with all the evidence we have can be deemed a genious...
Christianitys version of a god is an evil tyrantical dictator who demands worship and praise or he will throw you in lake of fire to be burned and tortured for all of eternity...Please stop perpetuating this evil religion based on bigotry, genecide, and division...grow up..
The family and I were riding along in the car today, when a discussion of Christopher Hitchens came up. My father didn't have much to say about Hitchens, but he did make this point (which the family and I found quite amusing): "When Christopher Hitchens died, he learned these two thing: There is a God, and hell is real.". Kinda sad when I think about him, cuz he spent his life trying to destroy the God that could have saved his soul from the predicament it's in. But, oh well...
@jarbon5 Except the concept of Hell is just a figment of your imagination, since conciousness ends when a person dies (end of brain function). Nothing but scare tactics, if you ain't good then you will get coal in your stockings, so be good!
@VColossalV someone came to prophet Mohammad holding an old human bone stood in front of him and crushed the bone as he was asking who can put this back to life? see the answer next post
@VColossalV God revield to Prophet Mohammed translation of the meaning"and hethe man that crushed the bone) gave Us an example and forgot his very creation. he said who can bring back to life these crumbling bones say (oh Mohammad) brings it back to life THE ONE who created it the first time and HE is able over everything"
You pray that Christopher Hitchens would debase himself by professing faith in a bronze aged god and in the process throw out all of his life's work, passion and principles? Did you know him at all? If Hitchens had converted at the last moment in order to "save" himself, I would hope that there really was a god and that he held disingenuousness and a lack of principles as the ultimate sin worthy of punishing rather than a skeptical mind. Luckily, I have trust that Hitch was true to the end.
...you dare use hitchens death to try and convince others to accept jesus christ...how could you say you respect him. All that needed to be said was that rest in peace and hold his memory and wisdom in our minds and hearts...but then you go and pull a pascals wager at the end. Unsubbed this was the final straw.
When you add it all up 100% of humanity is sick and weakened by genetic loss. We inherit the sins of our ancestors whom defied the laws of genetic safety and now we are even more stupid and degenerating faster than ever. Since 1948 the death rate daily for cancer has gone up 20% even with all the new treatments and cures.
@GoodScienceForYou 33% of humans ages 15 t0 64 die from cancer a genetic disease. The only hope is for the Genetic Engineer, God, to come and fix this. There are no magical mutations of evolution. There is only design and loss of fitness as the mutations destroy the design.
Christopher Hitchens died of a genetic disease. There are over 4600 genetic defects in humans according to the Human Genome Project & more are found every day. We were created perfect and because of our stupid ideas of wanting to defy the nature of our being we're genetically degraded. The famous Carl Sagan also died of a genetic disease. All humans are dying of genetic diseases and are degraded from perfection and yet stupid humans believe in evolution the magical nonsense that does not exist.
Pray? Might as well go and piss on his grave... You say you respect him but would do something that he was so against? You also say that there is no hope for him? So you piss on everything he stood for even though it would do nothing in your belief anyway? I'll go sacrifice a goat for you.
I believe that you don't have a wonderful intellect, and that as a result you can never understand the way that Hitchens has helped humanity. You want to drag humanity backwards by opportunistically insulting the memory of a recently deceased man to forward your childish evangelism. This is all very obvious anyway to nearly everyone but you.
Hitchens was an atheist primarily because he looked at the world and saw all the terrible things religion was doing to people. He was a terrific human who helped people just for the sake of it and nothing else. But I suppose he is burning in hell for all that non belief now.
He did effect the world millions of people in a positive way. lol im not going to say he isn't going to hell but my evil book say that fucker is burning in hell. at least be honest.
@VenomFangX Your statement "At least he is no longer an atheist" is true, if ...
(1) there is no afterlife (in the atheist sense): then he finished existing, nothing is left of him
(2) there is an afterlife (in a Christian or related theist sense): then he would learn he was wrong
But what if there is an afterlife in a sense that a kind of "conscious soul/spirit" survives, without any obvious evidence of a God. Then a sceptic like Hitchens would remain sceptic I guess ;-)
LOl Christopher hitchens affected millions of people and no doubt had a better heart than yourself....just because he didnt believe in your religion, means nothing.
Wow, "covered by the blood of Christ", what a morbid belief. I know you're a good person Anthony, but I just can't understand why anyone would cling to this view of reality, in this century, so adamantly. It's baffling.
Why did your version of god create satan and his demons....And why does your version of god like blood sacrifices...How in the world can you worship a monster that sacrifices his only son....Christians are so barbaric...
@0019josh7100 Here are some questions to answer your questions ... why do you ask questions and jump to various conclusions before you even acquire an answer or a response? Why ask questions and not do the research to find the answers yourself? Seek and you shall find, Josh. If you really want the truth, you will find it.
@FoxxyEmz in case u didnt notice, I was being sarcastic. I find it a little concerning that u dont see the abundant & obvious moral issues god's behavior has AS U DESCRIBE IT.
If I offer a gift to someone I care for and they dont take it, for whatever reason (shame, disrespect, pride, ignorance, etc) I dont feel entitled to punish them for that.
They dont have to take my gift! I dont get to beat the shit out of them just because I dont get my way. And neither does god. Have some self respect!
@guitarmaestro078 The frustrating part of all this isn't so much that you don't get it - but that you refuse to get it. You continue to spout off about your made-up-gospel and then say how bad it is, your own god and say how bad he is.
@4GodSoLoves again... notice how you are splitting hairs, you are not really addressing the core of my argument. You are trying to distract the issues here and move them to something you could potentially make a point in.
Whenever you grow some balls and are ready to actually question the moral implications of a place like hell being created for MERE DISBELIEF then I will be here waiting.
Until then, good luck believing and hoping for a dictator much worse than anything we could imagine.
Hitchens is on the road to Hell. I hope he converts to Catholicism, but we can only pray.

Pray for his family? Why not pray for Hitchens. If you're truly a Christian you'd be praying that God forgive him for his sins. If you're truly a Christian you'd say "take me instead". Instead you're trying to get other people to turn to God, out of fear. Despicable.

But what if there is an afterlife in a sense that a kind of "conscious soul/spirit" survives, without any obvious evidence of a God. Then a sceptic like Hitchens would remain sceptic I guess ;-)
