I'm not a big fan of Taylor Swift but I think she did deserve the album of the year Grammy. She wrote music people could connect to while outselling every other artist. I have The Fame and though it's a good cd I don't think it deserved album of the year. Dance album of the year was more approriate. If it weren't for the beats it wouldn't have been that great.

Such a shame, the artists today not only do not write their own music, their voices are manipulated digitally and they lipsync during their concerts and even the Grammy's, it is such a lie to the public. The Recording Academy made a horrible mistake by giving Mark Myrie, aka "Buju Banton," his fourth Grammy nomination (Best Reggae Album).

Buju Banton is best known for his virulent homophobia and his anthem "Boom Bye Bye" which calls for gays to be shot in the head, shot with an Uzi, have acid thrown on them and then to be burned like an old tire.

The Recording Academy gave Beenie Man a Grammy in 2001. In Uganda, on 12/05/09, Beenie Man sang "Mi Nah Wallah," in which he says he wants to slit the throats of all gays. He did this at a performance sponsored by the local Pepsi distributor.

Beenie Man was well known for his murder music in 2001 when he got his Grammy. The Recording Academy should be forever ashamed of that award and should not have nominated Buju Banton for the 2010 awards.
