i was living in key west when this hit, i was working at ricks bar as the house carpenter and stayed to protect the bar, it was wild, we lived in a concrete house behind the bar and had a huge hurricane party, then watched over the bar for the next 2 weeks, we had 10 generators, food n plenty of beer, it was great , i was 38 and had some girls who stayed with us, needless to say, we definately made the best of it!!!

i dont know how you can call beautiful this such of things looool....maybe because you dont suffer the same that we suffer with the hurricane georges and suffer evry year in dominican republic and puerto rico inside your united states...i respect your opinions of course but sorry you dont really know what you're saying

I remember this hurricane, I was 5 years old when it happened, I remember constantly looking out my bedroom window and seeing the storm surge coming in and I was telling everyone in the house that there was water coming.

my old home on 336 duval stree has sood every hurricane since the 1800's when it was built - my grandomther told me stories of many past hurricanes that hit my home town- i moved from fla after one too many hurricane hits 4 years ago from orlando fla- 3 in a row- yet key west and fla will always be my home - miss it there and the people- not as friendly here in Raleigh nc-

i remember when this hurricane came to my country. i think it was on september 18th. it was one of the worst hurricanes ever to hit here.

I remember when this came thru. I was in the Coast Guard and worked part-time downtown at Rumrunner's on Duval St. The biggest pain in the ass' were the people anchored on the Gulf side who refused to leave.

Amazing shots Jim! Those small palms at the intersection of North Roosevelt and Kennedy Drive are really going wild. It's too bad you guys weren't a few miles farther up on the Keys.
