    Hellachoppahz

  • TTB/FCC 95

    POWWOW

This was a commerical.for TBS so they were told to make look good for what TBS needed.

    Great job bruhs.

  • I liked how stripped down the layers were. It went straight to the point and it was a solid performance. This is wasn't competition, this was a commerical (obviously for tbs.)

  • a look guys im in this video ttb fcc funky four 2k2 we are more of a traditional drumline i came from a corp style band and i hated it so to each is own and i if you guys are so good just come challenge some of these guys i play quads quints in highschool its about havin fun and doin what we love to do and if any body on here wants to challenge me i m here just let me know just remember these cadences are old so challenge me

  • cocky arent we

  • They sound wonderful to my unpracticed ear.

  • this isnt the university of alabama.

  • im not hatin on them because they are drummers like me but, this is kinda of a dumb cadence and the rums sound retarted. i would hate to play on drums like this. good job.

  • this movie it's great!!!

  • heres an idea, stop fucking about looking good all syncro and try and play somthing good?

  • Heres a better idea stop hatin on just cuz you can't play doesnt mean you have to crush others skills

  • im not "hatin on" cos i cant play, its because it dont sound that good, i mean listen to it without watchin it then you'll understand.

  • Outaide of a few rolls its pretty clean

  • i agree it is sharp, the tune/beat is just too basic because they are focused on looking good rather than sounding good. thats what im sayin.

  • overall THEY DO SOUND GOOD besides not every cadence has to be technical to be a groove and have funk when a drum feature isnt technical it normally has "cool tricks and visuals etc" and when its complicated they dont no big deal

  • It's a TV commercial dumbass, not a DCI competition. It supposed to LOOK GOOD ON TV!!!

  • well its a shit advert then. you know what would make it better... if they got rid of the drummers and replaced them with hot girls in bikinis oh and had the A-Team theme tune playing whilst they spray each other with water?? just a thought tardface

  • wow where is your mind at

  • this is hella sick

  • dam i had to play with 20s and im in 8th grade and thos shits are heavy but i got used to them lol

  • Cymbals playin wit 18's lol

  • YEAH TTB/FCC My crab brother Chior Boi brought this to ASU. This shit is fire.

  • the name of this is 10 comandments

  • you suck.....fag

  • ;) thanks bud

  • man i love this candence i love da sticking i cant wait to try out for their drumline. 2010 on deck

    asu quads/auints here i come

  • very "cold steel"ish. dont know why. it just sounds like a&t.

  • i agree with LargeNoncaucasion

i was in a corp style band in highschool and hated it

but now im in showstyle and its equally the same amount of effort

so all the DCI fans comin on here tellin people that show style sucks you should try it before you talk shhit about it

  • YAY YAY! TELL EM

  • that was really cool i love how you did everything in this video keep up the good work:)

  • The marching sport (like the previous analogy) is Divide by generally what some people peferre either Showstyle or Corpstyle. I myself like both, but gravitate more towards showstyle bands, because Corpstyle gets a bit mamotanous (in my opinion). However I don't think anyone from either can talk shit on anyone until you have marching that style. I wasn't in a Showstyle band, but I was in a more traditional style band and don't think a lot of poeple corpstyle could do what they do and vice versa.

  • Alright,I have read this post and some of the shit on here can be boiled down to, that some close minded people don't like things no matter how you look at it. The marching sport is much like rugby, its broken up into two different styles: Rugby Union and Rugby League. Both are equally Fun to play and both take a certain amount of skill to play. But in the end they both get the job done. The same can be said about the two style of Marching Band.

  • Take in to consideration for a 2:43 comerical im pretty sure visuals will get the audiences attention better than correct stick heights and sticking.

  • @Sirbamaboy93 and also considering part of percussion features is the visual stick stuff.

  • For all the hataz this is an excellent piece. Yea they might not have had their sticking correct but someone love what they are doing if they are in a commerical. The cadence was a very great groove stlye flow and I think this is a top video dealing with percussion on youtube. Great work Alabama St.

  • auburn rules!!!! go tigers

  • Let's put this in perspective for all of the haters. How many of these guys in this video are watching YOU on a commercial? LOL!! That's what I thought. Now who's the experts? hmmmmm...stop putting music in a cookie cutter box. If it doesn't fit your mold, it's not right? That's soooooo narrow minded.

  • woa woa woa stickin stickin shit this cadence should be called stickin control.

And I see what the corps ppl are talkin about (anyone who talks about quarter notes per minute and 2/4 rimshots by their proper names must be corps), i play traditional/showstyle percussion and I say those rolls were dirty foo, and the stickin aint consistent ie heights and angles...not to mention that cadence aint complicated or good soundin my crabs could prolly learn this in a day. and it took em 3 for M&S

  • Alabama St. must work on sticking, stick height and making their movement look sweet. Say what you want to say about Tenn St. their sticking, stick height and playing is sweet as hell

  • The name of that is "Ten Commandments"

  • Which one of the commandments was to play with bad technique? .. Or was it "when all else fails, throw in some visuals"? Just because you're a show line, doesn't mean youre not allowed to play clean.

  • do you know the style that is tought at ala st?...im sure you dont so your opinion weighs nothing!

  • what does style have to do with technique? Are the uneven stick heights, lack of rudimentary precision, phasing problems, and dirt have to do with style? If thats style, Ive seen plently of junior high drumlines play sixteenth note triplets on tenors, and 2/4 rimshots while humping their snares...and if you think I have a bug up my ass about show lines (aka. "this type of drumming"), Ive seen plently of show lines play extremely well..

  • Nothing like bad technique, sound quality, and boring beats. Maybe they should focus more on the notes than doing twirls and shit. Its like flag members on percussion. bbbbbbbboooooooooooo

  • my high schools cadences r more based arouned the tenors, not snare.

  • DEy was beastin!!!

  • Dope! Ahhh, the drum line days.

  • old school bad ass !!! nice edit !!!

  • I agree with genupe. Historically black universities have a much better sound in my opinion than some of the others. The quads sound a lot better, and they have their own style just like any other musical group. They have a unique sound that makes them special. I don't mean to be one of the people who thinks the movie drumline is sooooo awesome, but a they kinda sound like AT&T university's fictional drumline. Just sayin. Please reply

  • I think saying they have a unique "sound" is an overstatement. These types of drumlines are cool for their visual aspect, i dont think so much the musical aspect.

Like every person who watched drumline before actually joining one, i went through a drumline (the movie) era. first i liked it, joined drumline, didnt like it. got into a drum corps recently. now im learning to accept it for what it is.

  • basically, guys who talk shit about this type of drumming are just egotistical. they know its cool, they just wont admit it.

  • AT&T? try A&T dumbass. lol

  • OK - nice groove guys...that was hot. Accept it for what it is, not what it isn't folks. It was entertaining and enjoyable.

    Bernard Green

    CorpsVets - Former Snare

    Cream Drum Corps - Staff

  • Ydontu!

  • very dirty. If you're going to do gay ass visuals at least do the easy stuff like pugdas and slow diddles clean. Nobody understands the term of listening in...the whole point of having a center snare =\

  • yall just copyin drumline the movie thats all to it

  • the movie drumline blows

  • Why does Alabama State represent TBS? Im not dissing them, Im just curious..

  • like it. nothing 2 hard but good visiuals

  • LOL...I SEEN DAT STICK ON DA GROUND!!

  • L0L...I DID T00

  • wow a core style is better im in high school and where i come from if u woulda said that in asu face or any other hbcu collge band face yall will get yall asses beat.Phantom regiment and blue devis and them the sound good but they have no life to them 4 real hbcu and Asu has what the public want in music and thats somethin to move they body to.

  • LOL ME 2

  • what you is corp style

  • man fuck you don't hate on us because we don't do that roll steppin shit

  • dont hate cuz yall cant do what we do. its all about funk cadences. not fast boring ones.

  • dont hate cause yall boys cant do all that sticking

  • look up drumline competion@southfield highschool. you will see some sticking. the school in green is cass tech.

  • yall need 2 l00k at da dat dat dis was posted...it was almost a year ago...so all yall hatin on ASU need 2 luk @ dey recent videosz...i bet dey'll eat up any fuckin body!!!!

  • How old is this, what year is it from?

Who wrote it and is it available someplace written down?

  • let me shine some LIGHT to you morons...Duke Ellington said this, so listen--if it sounds good it is good..Good doesnt necessarily have to be complicated. So what u think its easy just like we think its easy to fast march or pop 90's for a full 7 or 8 mins and do a dance routine which u probably couldnt hang with

  • fighting over a cadence...that is funny..and yes it would be kinda hard because of the rhythm....but it is VERY KWL

  • lol guikkness ur an idiot, if you ever want to get actually good at playing drums, learn the rudiments. id like you to try and compete in a state competition not knowing any rudiments...

  • This isnt even challenging. A poor display of a drumline cadence.

  • u mus b white then cuz this is how southern bands play and its not like they sound bad its the style.. so dont b hatin on state...

  • I am white, and I am from Texas. This is not how 'southern bands' play. This just sucks. Stupid nigger.

  • well let me rephrase cracker... alabama florida mississippi georgia. all yo wannabees play dem sorry rudiments wishin yall cud get crunk like dat get a life trailor park trash nobody was talking to yo dirty ass no way ya drusty ass trick

  • wo wo. why the skin dis. you know what most black schools say about schools like norfolk and BCU; they say they have white boi chops why; because they are all about sound, thats why the blue devils snare line which is multi racial sound like one drum

  • what the hell is you talkin bout

  • there is a giant difference between corps style drumlines and traditional style drumlines. it sure as hell is hard for everyone on the line to master the stick tricks, while the percision isnt as good as a corps style band. has nothin to do with color

  • Yeah, I know.

  • i dont care if its show band shit

a highschool drumline could play this

    and even 10x cleaner.

    this sounds ok

    but its so simple

  • this sounds a bit like all my middle schools cadences combined...o;

  • nice rhythm! Lookslike fun....but for college level, where's the flam drags, or at least some demand other than visuals? May be I'm just old school........But, at least they're playing on mylar :)

  • NICE !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • NICE !!!!!!!!!

  • For all you that say this sucks, its only because this is show band shit, its good though =] i like it =P

  • LOL

  • This sucks. ever heard of Drum Corps International? Ya know... where it actually involves skill to make it.. Seriously this sucks... TBS should die in a fire for picking this drumline.

  • man stop hatin u already know this fire

  • "you already know this fire"? WTF?? Dude this sucks... Why don't you look up Spirit from JSU drumline. That's real talent Jack-ass.

  • Spirit 1980 maybe, when we tied for high drums with Bridgemen- but certainly not now.

  • Dude are you joking me! Spirit is one of the only drumlines that is still doing 'normal' sticking. Spirit is one of the cleanest lines I've heard in a while. They don't do highsticking crap every two seconds. In my opinion, the top 3 drumlines right now are SCV, Spirit, and Blue Devils. Just an opinion... but you can't say that Spirit isn't one of the best these days. The books that they write for the shows actually make sense.

  • I disagree I think hbc drumlines are what marching bands need .Just my opinion.

  • Shutup. Do you even know what you're saying?

  • No YOU STFU.. You dont know what your saying..

  • i saw scv this year and they were dirty as sin. i don't think you quite know what you're talking about ...

  • And phantom regiment

  • just cause they are not as good as spirit doesn't mean they suck dumbass

  • That's not what I'm saying. They still suck. I was just giving you an example of a real drumline.

  • iight its cool i aint tryin to start anything with anybody

  • so dont go around dissing drumlines like ASU cause they dont play in that corp style doesnt mean they arent capable of doing it just means they dont want to.

  • amen!!

  • Amen!!! You do better with the straps than harnesses

  • can't till i go 2 ASU and play quas 4 dem

  • what is the name of this, besides TBS cadence

  • that was well done! :)

  • The sound doesn't pop as much because the heads aren't Kevlar. I don't see a problem with it though...

  • i thought this was a marching snare line, are they playing on concert snare drums hahahahahahahaha, tune them bitches right and stop wearing slings its 2007

  • This is my old High school cadence

  • If you're in a division 1 DCI drumline, and you're complaining about this, you don't make sense. It's two different worlds between show style drumming and Drumcorps drumming. Obviously DCI drumlines worry about clarity and cleaniness, that's what the compete for. The show style drumlines worry more about visual clarity.

  • I played in this commercial and TBS provided those dirty sounding drums. If you knew anything about TTB you would know our drums are not tune the way they are in this commercial. TBS had some one pretune them to what they wanted them to sound like, and yes we complained but what can we do about it.
