  • WOOOOW It looks TOO SIMILAR to BRAMMO Electric SBK !!!

  • MUSIC RUINED IT ALL. Put on some metal music already

  • Who the hell picked this type of music for a launch???? They should've been fired!

  • just a paper weight until its on the road

  • Comment removed

  • Front ends too bulky but I would have bought one 3 years ago if they were on sale. It should not be up to the people to make decisions as important as this.

  • RIDING IS ALL ABOUT

    SHIFTING N' MAKING NOISE.

  • Sweet looking machine. It kinda looks like that prototype kawasaki made. That ZZRX i think it was called. Long as I can shift gears on the electric bike, I'm cool. Long as it can go 180-260mph or something, I'm cool with that also. If I'm on a good private road with just me and a few recording me, I'd take it past 200 if it has the power to run at that speed.

  • How is it a 'superbike' at 125mph? I just did 125mph in my normal old car.

  • @mitchskates85 my damn ninja 500 would own this thing for sure lol.

Guess my 500 should be called a superbike then if thats the case.

  • Way to debut the latest tech, with a sappy 42 year old song. No wonder the company went belly up!

  • @MrGsteelejr Yea, I bet they'd have been a roaring success if they'd just chosen the right record to play, LOL.

  • este es el futuro gracias

  • WTF with the Music should put " Baracuda "

  • WTF with the Music

  • That's a really fat bike!

  • Nice clothes, highly impractical

  • WTF is this shit. The ugliest bike i've ever seen. And that gay music.

  • @gheneralu ur father is gay. try to build a bike like this homo.

  • @triangletrexx You are so stupid. Go play piano to your retarded parents. If you don't know anything about bikes shut the fuck up. Ride this bike on a string at the circus where it belogs and where you belong.

  • @gheneralu no need for sensual behavior mr.motobike . u r the god of knowlegde. iam not worthy.

  • Iv just realised whyy people dnt buy electric bikes...coz they look shit!

  • I wish someone would dump front forks. there dated and useless now days. I seen a design that was light years ahead of anything . Then the owner died. what a waste of art and engineering that guy had.

You can forget mass produced electric motors. till someone finds a replacment for rare earth magnets. which we can't make, only nature can so far.

  • @WizzRacing Ya'll sound real smart.

  • I love the Harley creed of "loud pipes Save lives" Their riders are so concerned for safety that they wear bandannas and tank tops to ride in for safety gear!!! Harley Davidson has mastered the art of increasing the decibel level of an engine without the added side effect of additional horsepower!

  • how r u gonna drive that? the steer is low with the fat body in front of ur face

  • Music does suck for an unveiling... There is a serious possibility in electric supersport bikes. Electric motors can produce acceleration not possible with a gas engine. As soon as they get the charge time, battery life, and top speed problems taken care of, I'll take two.

  • @HunterPilot24

Current charge times for batteries: 15 minutes for a full charge. (Lithium-titanate)

    Battery life: 12 years of deep-cycles. (Lithium-titanate)

Top speeds: 370 km/h for the Eliica. Top speeds in electric vehicles are currently primarily determined by the gear box, and not so much by the engines or batteries.

  • @Athaeus Is this already sale in USA? How much does it costs? I want one.

  • Who cares that the bike is ugly, those things will get better in the future...i hope :p

  • holy shit this things real!!!!

  • that was what i was thinking,i only seen it as a drawing :p

  • Yeah fat ass....

  • Damn its ugly.

  • they should have thought of the looks before they unveiled it. gotta hive five your comment on ugliness.

  • this bike is like a girl in my class: nice ass but the face sucks !

  • Very nice song acutally. Way better than loud rock-n-roll shitty noise.

  • Have to admit, not the most inspirational song for the unveiling of a superbike. Looks damn cool, though.

  • "Sound of Silence" to promote an electric bike - it does make a little sense.

  • One of the gayest songs ever, no info about the bike, and batteries suck.

  • I'd love to see this bike with lithium-titanate battery technology or the new capacitor technologies!

Not to mention AWD and KERS.

I'd pay a neat sum of money, just to get away from those old ICE-dinosaur MC's.

  • If you people want noise, they can always install speakers to make some rev noises. Stop complaining about stupid stuff. Too bad this company is going bankrupt. They didn't form a partnership with any banks. They needed someone to loan money to the consumers.

  • Too bad they priced themselves out of business.. As of 7/15/09 filed chaper 11.. Google it...

  • crap

  • why argue over why having a loud noise is safe lol

an electric powered vehicle will be better end of.

no trying to sqeeze every hp you can out of a contained explosion.

just whack u decent brushless unit in there and youll realise what power is without certain rpm ranges to keep inside in order to get maximum power just full on POWER all the way there!!!

  • sick as hell

  • egg on wheels

  • I think it's mostly just how human hearing is built, really, and the laws of sound.

A few people have apparently argued that electric bikes are unsafe because they're quiet, but from what I've seen with gas cars, gas bikes, and general human perception, a loud gas bike isn't a whole lot safer. Especially on the highway, you can't hear the exhaust until they pass you.

  • That's known as the doppler effect. Which is why i roll my eyes everytime i hear "loud pipes save lives".

I'm just not willing to put my life in the hands of my pipes. I slung my pipes on for performance and godly noice! haha

As soon as the electrics outgun the current petrol powered superbikes, i'm trading my crotch rocket in for the stealth model!

  • @not4resale dont forget to paint it black, even tho my black design would obviously become known as the B2 of mopeds.

  • Loud pipes can make a difference, Once I was driving on the interstate in the right lane about to overtake a slow car and move to the left lane when I heard crotch rocket exhaust. I checked my mirrors and saw nothing, then I looked over my shoulder and saw two bikes racing way over 100 mph, if not for their loud exhaust they would likely be dead now.

  • agreed, I love the sound of my cb600

  • V-twins sound a shite-load better than i-4's. My Sp-2 sounds nastier than your nancy boy gixxer.

Doesn't change the fact that these people are bringing out a clean bike that will outperform both our bikes. I think i'll buy a quick, nimble, efficient, green machine over noise anyday in the future. As the green tech gets better, the market will start to bend in that direction, a quiet bike might seem gay now but in 10 yrs time when yamaha's pumping out stealth bombers, you'll change ur tune.

  • You're missing the point. I said that there's no safety element to combustion noise, because you can't hear even loud bikes until they're already in your field of view.

Obviously you hear it when you ride it.

You can't read, can you? All you see is, "blah blah combustion bikes blah blah not practical" and you think, "MY BIKE IS THE SHIT FUCK YOU"

  • Absolutely awesome... Maybe we're just too accustomed to the sound i.e. louder meaning more power.. I'd rather listen to my Ipod while cruising, but that's a personal preference.

  • Apart from letting exhaust out and sucking fresh air and fuel back in ,i agree the noise is pointless.LOL Good luck making people believe that one.

  • Worst music for a launch event!.....ruined it!

  • @Willymaze its the sound of silence... electric... get it?

  • @Willymaze what music would you have chosen for the launch event?

  • the mission one is much nicer

  • Oh peoples but power of electronic engine = id you have 200nm in gas engine yopu need time to get in in electronic bike you have it always : D

  • BUILD IT!!! I WILL BUY!! not kidding this shit kicks ass

  • You need to change the way of thinking when we're talking about electric vehicule....I see some persons still obsess about speed and compare electric & gaz motor.... It's OVER !... all those noise & smoke pollutions and speed ! We're talking about a new technology and era here.

  • why is there a kickstarter :S

  • its a back break i think

  • not really a superbike as much as a tourer. but it wont tour because it's electric.

here is why i wont be buying one...i live in a flat!

  • i like the concept and the friendly enviroment thingy but its kind of dangerous to run a silenced bike i mean no one would know that ur passing by him turn left and hit u withouth eve noticing ur there so id prefer normal bike but anyways nice idea ;)

  • i heard an idea in a mag a while ago, which was that electric bikes would run fake silencers that force air through a gap, to simulate the noise made by a petrol engine

  • Yeah, but between the way human ears work and the way motorcycle exhausts are set up, you can't really hear a bike unless it's already in front of you.

The noise from gasoline engines is pointless.

  • it's music

  • which means it's really just a personal preference.

I like the sound turbochargers make, and I like the sound that electric motors make, but I don't care for the sound gas motorcycles make.

  • oh yes, the noise is pointless. Lets take a look at gasoline engines. Lets see, it takes gasoline and oxygen in a mixture (engine or tune specific) and creates a combustion (small explosion) to force the piston downward. Lets see her, correct me if I am wrong but explosions make noise (in some peoples case, music) and the muffler is not containing this noise becuase too much back pressure causes the engine to not function to optimal energy release. So the "noise" is needed.

  • *palmface*

No, I meant it's pointless as a safety device, because you can rarely hear a combustion engine that isn't already in your field of view.

  • Wait... so you can't hear things that you can't see???

I think what you're touching on is the doppler effect. I agree with you on this point, safety-wise the noise will rarely save somebody's arse.

and i was just taking the piss out of you for the fun of it, no harm meant ;-)

  • well yeah, as a saftey device but who uses it for that, I have a loud full akro, but its loud for power. I run the exhaust that makes the most power, reguardless of sound.

  • Very nice looking bike. I want to see the price tag. If the top speed is 125mph and it goes 100 miles+ on a single charge AND it costs under $14k then I'm in!

  • wats the song at the beggining?

  • the sound of silence by simon and garfunkle

  • Looks like an egg with wheels. Ugly

  • nice i bet it costs way more thow

  • i want it right fuckin now yhaha

  • I want one now!!!!!!

  • imo pure ugly except from back

  • love it hope they make it. how can we not like it?

  • 125 is not a superbike

  • 125 mph (200 Km/h) is quite impressive for an electric bike.

  • all i said is 125 doesnt make a "superbike" super bikes reach almost 200mph. i think its a cool idea, but almost any cruiser will go that speed.

  • I think they call it that way because of its "appearance"

  • Ahh crap, make it! Don't even wait....MAKE IT!

  • Very hot!!

  • Very hit!!

  • I doubt they'll ever actually produce the thing. Too bad. It's sexy. :/

  • Its on roids. Not very good looking imo.

  • in this bike on video i cant see the electric engine of this bike....its was i mean..

  • hey man the motor drive engine?i dont see in this video, and the battery?

  • guimbadriver, what are you saying? or asking

  • Looks more like a motorcycle than the Sumo. I wish they would have given specs, you know weight, run time per charge, range, 0-60, and top speed. It would stop just fine with those over sized external rotors on the front wheel. Looks like recoperative chaging is done on the rear wheel. Must be torquey as all get out with a flywheel that big for a final drive. If the future of electric vehicles looks like this I can't wait!

  • Shite

  • Why did they choose that song for the unveiling? We get it, its silent? Why not play the Electric slide? :-)

  • this could be something very awesome there is a drag racing team that kicks ass they use poly lithium batteries from a company called A123 systems and they have a link to the drag team they sponsor check them out it blows me away

  • Is it true that it has no brakes, and when you want to slow down, you turn the lights on?

  • No but there is something that when you roll the throttle past the starting point forward it brakes and recharges the battery. But there are hand brakes as well.

  • Hey, Robrady and Vectrix: For those of us that already own and use electric scooters, I would like to thank you for the glimps in the near future. Can't wait!

  • woah.........awesomw shit!!

  • lol the sound of silence! did they really play that song at the launch?

  • It looks damn sexy to me

  • The readers at electricmotorcycles net are keeping a lookout for this one. Expected speed at 125mph.

  • Damn when does it come out and how much is it?

  • As soon as 500 orders are placed.

£39,000. Way out of my price range.

  • to TheNormieBug your not kidding that is outrageous especially when you could convert a similair for 10000!uh
