Life is very short with a myriad of pitfalls just waiting to take your life from you. @Desitch - Well, most religions are illogical and absurd because they just speculate with little or no evidence to back them up (it's just some dude writing about the heavens in ways no one could possibly know or verify), but most of them don't include suicide or shutting yourself off from everyone but the cult leader & family. Some of the only religions to take it this far are the fundamentalist offshoots of different religions (and really dedicated Jainism since you have to waste away).
