The lips are amazing. Personally I wear dark lips with dark eyeliner in the rims. I feel like the lip washes me out otherwise. But I love dark looks. Makeup is not about following the rules I completely agree with you! Its about expression and art. Looking typically pretty is way over rated :) :) xxx

i think these types of extreme looks are very pretty as long as they are done well, as this lady has shown is possible. very beautiful! no one wants to look like they are thirteen and trying to rebel, always try to do your makeup well, especially if it is extreme!

i just did this one- i'm over 40-and this just made me feel at least 10 years younger!!all the focus on eyes and lips..i did tone it down just a bit -using grey eyeliner and lips really dark violet- wine with a hint of black liner to begin with.really love how it "opened"my eyes up!!my skin is pinkisk-yellowsome couperose so i didnt make it much ligther than usual-hair dark blond.thank u soo much for this tut especially!!

There is NOTHING in the definition of avant garde nor high fashion that states grey scale makeup. Untill these two looks appeared I'd never seen anything titled avant garde that wasn't dramatically colorful!
