  • You all are lucky. If it would have been my coach you would have been kicked off about a minute into the video. It gets to a point where you are instigating it. So you are just as at fault.

  • Good for the bus driver!!!!!! We get enough shit dealing with traffic,diversions etc etc without asshole passengers giving us grief.If anyone asked me "why you late" my simple response would've been "I got lost"

  • As a bus driver myself, i get those comments too. I ignore when people come at me with attitudes to avoid a longer and stressful day. I have to agree with venusfan, it's not that we want to be late on purpose so don't be so quick to judge. I do realize that some of my coworkers need training in customer service or just plain and simply need to get fired; good thing you pulled out your phone and recorded. Hope you actually did something about it and not just posted it on here.

  • i'm not sure what is going on in this video because the video starts in the middle of the argument and I can't form an opinion about who is right, but I am sure that anyone can be racist. a mexican can be as racist as an indonesian as a caucasian. that man is illogical.

  • So when it comes to the 217, i'm not about to rush the elderly/disabled or any wheelchairs so that I can meet your transportation requirements. Safety counts first and If you drive off while an elderly/disabled person is walking to a seat and he/she hurts themselves you are in big trouble. You are charged with an accident.

    I'll tell you guys like I tell all other upset passengers: "OUR BUSES % ARE NOT 100% DEPENDABLE" ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. WE ALSO HAVE BREAK DOWNS ON OUR BUS TOO Y'KNOW.

  • I'm speaking on behalf of all metro drivers: Passengers need to put themselves in our shoes sometimes. I'm a driver out of division 7 and I do lines 217 and the 2. Both of them lines are hectic because of the traffic and people that ride those lines. And on the 217 we're always late because there are a lot of elderly/disabled people and the line goes down crowded ass hollywood blvd which puts us behind time due to all the traffic. If I could make miracles in rush hour traffic I would but I can't

  • man i ride the metro everyday and this is a bus driver that i recognize that always has a shitty attitude even when people ask him for directions he says shit like "hell you should ride the bus if you dont know where youre going" this dude needs to be fired

  • @phantomgrrl20 He is right. An adult should know where they are going, before they leave their house. His job is to drive his bus from A to B without crashing they bus. If it is on time, it is a bonus.  It is not to wipe your ass because you lack the mental fortetude to know where the hell you are going. I would have kicked off whoever made the "Jackass" remark, and whoever made the "Ghetto" remark. He is a very nice bus driver. My day is not complete until I kick someone off of my bus.

  • As an MTA bus driver I get those comments from passangers all the time about they've been waiting 45 mins for the bus and why I'm I so late. I usually just ignore them and let it be because they think we're late on purpose.

    They don't consider traffic, they don't consider the weather, they don't consider accidents on the route, they don't consider busses breaking down; No they just want the bus to be there when they're at the  bus stop.

    So long as I get there safely I'm fine

  • Yea MTA sucks. I walked 3 miles every day to work on a cane with a sprained ankle when they were striking a few years back. I wouldn't care if every single one of those drivers lose their job. I don't fucking need them.

  • Today I complained because the driver was 11minutes late at his POINT OF ORIGIN (Vermont and Wilshire) and stopped way behind the bus stop area to make everyone run. It is like a game every morning.

    Everyone was angry.

    I complained. He called ME an A.....

  • The behaviour of the driver may well have been out of order, but there was no need for the passengers to continue to harass him while he is trying to drive. Distracting a bus driver while the bus is moving is EXTREMELY dangerous and the makers of this video ought to be ashamed of themselves.

  • there are alot of reasons why the buses are late. sometimes the bus does not even show up. recently i had a drunk guy on board and he couldn't get out of the bus on his own. so i had to call the sheriffs to get him out. the people and traffic depending on the time of day is the main reasons why buses are always late. sometimes there are just too many people at the bus stops. this will slow down the buses. also wheelchair people take up alot of time and slow people like seniors.

  • About two weeks ago, I was on 710 north and there was a drunk freak onboard, telling women he was going to take their clothes off them and pretty much rape them.. even to one with a kid in her lap. I was about ready to grab him by his neck and throw him off the bus into the gutter, but then he left at the next stop.

  • Some of MTA drivers do all kind of things. Talking by phone while driving and miss the bus stop, playing radio so loud, yelling at the passengers, eats while driving, pissed off so easy, etc.

  • Well this guy who boarded the bus in the video just simply asked a question and this driver got all sorts of GHETTO on him for no reason. Even if the passenger was wrong, which he wasn't, the driver should have just answered the customer's question, and continued, but, as you see here, he's an unprofessional bastard, and escalated a situation unnecessarily.

  • i agree some riders tend to say or do things to aggrivae the operator. some riders want to be bullies and have nothing else to do but to start up a fuss. If theres a problem, just shut up and call customer service, take your frustration out on them. the operator already has enough to deal with. the operator does his best to stay on time keeps the schedule etc etc. try driving a bus and deal with the same thing these operators deal with.

  • Well it sounds like the bus was late, and if you ask the operator and he doesn't want to give you an answer drop it and call customer service. Getting the operator upset is a good way to get you nowhere, and get ejected off the bus. Whether you like it or not the Operator has the choice on if he drives the bus or not. Yelling and photographing and taking video is not going to get you what you want, and is only going to hold up your trip. The operator has no obligation to tell you there late.
