  • melty blood the best

  • this must be version A. of MBAC

  • One thing: How in the world can anyone not like Melty Blood's sprites? Pixels are damn sexy in general, not to mention MB backs them up with some gorgeous animations, same as Guilty Gear did back in GGX, but at a higher quality (Well, once French Bread got on board). I guess pixels aren't everybody's thing, but...

Moreover... Melty Blood and Guilty Gear are both good games, and Guilty Gear fans who can't accept that need to get over themselves. GG isn't the only good fighting game out there.

  • I agree undoubtadly but, don't forget blazblue!

  • You idiot stupid.

  • meltyblood rocks

  • Melty is just 1337 genius. :) I agree.

  • I think you have your facts wrong buddy.

Melt Blood pwns Guilty Gear. Even though Melty blood was 2001 it still kicks GG's ass by a mile.

MB > GG Period. Ya nub.

  • idc what anyone says mb is way better than gg.

  • Looks like someone doesn't know how to stfu.

  • Dude I just told you I-don't-give-a-shit.

  • "Blah blah blah blah... I'm meirus I'm so cool I'm talking down to a 13 year old because I'm older and smarter" Idiot.

  • MB > GG. ^_^

  • I lol so hard at people yelling at each other trying to compare some b-rate doujin game to a fully original pack of awesomeness with some 10 games in the series. Not that MB is bad, it just doesn't stand up to the standards and overall lacks complexity. However, I wonder why I'd be writing all of this to a bunch of crazy fanbois XD

  • Hold on there, I'm definitely not on the fangirl wagon. I play both Guilty AND Melty. If you think that Melty lacks complexity then you're missing something crucial about the gameplay. Actually, you're just missing it totally. Guilty is complex I'll admit, but so is Melty if not more, but it definitely is technical. Eh, something just draws me more to Melty than Guilty at times, but they're both great. Not to mention Guilty has like...6 sequels that are basically just patches for the game.

  • Plus, like 90% of the Melty Blood population has played Guilty Gear one time or another (hell, we'll play any 2D fighter that's great). The Melty Blood community is just tired of Melty being called "Another Guilty Gear" here and there. They're both original in their own ways I suppose, and many Guilty fans like to overrate Guilty Gear's awesomeness and underrate every 2D fighter that happens to come around after it.

  • Nah, MB and GG are just too different from each other, MB is more like SF anyways. I like MB cause I'm a bit of a Typemoon fan, but that's about it. Maybe I just didn't take the time to learn it but I wasn't quite as motivated as I was for GG. I guess it's just not as flashy, and def. lacks the good music GG has (other than the intro).

As for other 2d fighters, I definitely enjoyed SamSho games... As for sequels, isn't it the same for MB? Or any other fighting game for that matter?

  • Every MB sequel brought something new to the table instead of minor updates. From MB to MBR you have new characters, new gameplay elements, and a story mode for each individual character. From MBR to MBAC you have advancement in the story modes along with 4 new characters and the gameplay changed to the point where you had to rework some of your combo chains from MBR to MBAC, so the gameplay was tweaked quite a bit. I was just noting that the GGXX sequels were kind of like expansion packs.

  • (Cont.) Instead of actual sequels, to me it just looked like patches for the original GGX2 game and so on and so forth. Melty definitely isn't as flashy as GG, well that's the whole Gameplay vs Graphics thing. I will admit that MB's spritework is horrible for the time it was made. Pixelation in sprites should damn be eliminated from 2D fighters at this point. As for the music, yeah it's not all that great compared to GG, but whatever floats your boat. : )

  • Yeah, really what's up with those sprites? I mean, even Act cadenza is pretty bad with that...

GGXX is not the original, the original would be the GG for PSX back from 1998. Since then they've been adding characters (from 6 to over 25 in Isuka). The most famous versions, though, like XX#reload or accent core are indeed just different tweaks if the same game. Kind of like MB versus MBRA

  • MBR acted as a patch in itself. MB plays similar to Guilty, definitely not a SF kind of thing. They are both pretty fast paced games.

  • hehehe nice my fave chars there is ciel arcueid nanaya and sion

  • Melty Blood is a fun, and a better series. I'm a big fan of TYPE-Moon. AND so as a fan of the character named Arcueid; much see more of these video...

    -Favic

  • is this available in america?

  • i thought neco-arc is in this one...

  • Wow the original one is so much freaking better o_o

  • Just got the game yesterady and I love it. Anybody know where I can find good combos?

  • Kinda boring compaired to the other intros

  • I concur with your comment. I do prefer the original one.

  • Good shit. I'm dying to play it and find out who those last new characters are.

  • Aozaki Aoko and Kishima Kouma
