I was not there when Jesus was crucified. And so I cannot claim the kind of first hand experience that some require as evidence. Nor can they have complete certainty that it did not happen. Some are right to be critical of "religious" people. The story is it was such people who insisted to Pilate that Jesus be crucified, though Pilate wanted to let him go. I was not there when Jesus was crucified. And so I cannot claim the kind of first hand experience that some require as evidence. Nor can they have complete certainty that it did not happen. Some are right to be critical of "religious" people. The story is it was such people who insisted to Pilate that Jesus be crucified, though Pilate wanted to let him go. Now we Christians are seen by some to be the Pharisees of our time. I don't think that is the result of reading Jesus' words often.

@giveal2god I received a great gift last Ash Wednesday: I knew I WAS there. And still there every time I let Jesus down by not giving wholeheartedly. Am still grieving.May the grief turn into useful truth, for myself and those who don't understand.

Yo know it's so sad people are hell-bent on proving there is not a God. They just don't want to live right so they hide from the fact of the living God. @Malumbrus We're not trying to threaten people. We're trying to warn them about the very real danger that lurks in unbelief. Whether you believe in it or not is irrelevant - Hell exists. Everyone has access to scripture, so there is no excuse for those who choose to ignore the warnings. It's like people who refuse to leave their homes when natural disaster is upon them. They see the warnings and ignore them to their own peril.

@templeH81 I have picked up a bible. It's one of the most disgusting things I've ever laid my eyes upon. The bible itself is proof to me that god doesn't exist, aside from the fact that the notion is completely ludicrous in itself.

I will put my hope in a God who is coming to abolish sin and suffering from this earth. The alternative - rotting in the ground after living a pointless life - isn't something to put hope in

@templeH81 It's your problem if you think your life is pointless. And maybe it is, but if that's the case, why not simply accept it and just live it? Does it have to have a purpose? Do you have to have some sort of importance? Why can't you just enjoy the fact that you have life in the first place and simply live it? I think it's arrogant to assume we have any sort of reason for existing. We're just a bunch of bags of meat on a big ball of dirt and water that's hurdling through space.
