Imagine the U.S. response if Mexico or Cuba decided to join a Russian backed military alliance, and Canada agreed to allow the Russians to install an ICBM defense system in Vancouver or Toronto. Even the U.S. media made multiple reports that the Russian response resulted from provocation by Georgia, when Georgian troops began to execute Ossetian civilians, or did you miss those reports.

Your examples of ICBMs in Canada are misleading and inappropriate. There are no ICBMs in Georgia, and Poland's Patriot missile defense system is conventional (as is Cubas). You are ill informed.

By the way, my comment was made to shed light on the fact that the men in the video are not Russian soldiers. The reason that I metioned their ethnicity was to point out that the men in the video are most likely locals from the Caucasus rather than Russian soldiers. As mentioned by many others on this page, they are not wearing Russian uniforms. You have not made a single comment that speaks to my argument directly.

In reply to what you now say is your point, Russians and Ossetians (with Russia's protection) have been busy ethnically cleansing Georgian territory. Russia is culpable for the lawlessness that it has engendered, supported, and indeed in which it has participated.

I think that it is rather obvious that you have a reading comprehension problem. What I have been trying to convey to you is that Russia's actions are a response to U.S. unilatteral policy. The U.S. has continued to bypass and ignore international law and conventions since the collapse of the Soviet Union. A unilatteral invasion of Iraq, support for the fascist regime in Israel, and continued expansion of NATO, an organization aimed at containing Russia and ensuring U.S. dominance.

For your information, those tools that you mention are used by all governments. Most notably our own, or have you forgotten that bullshit WMD campaign that Bush pushed on us before we entered Iraq. I think that you are the misinformed individual, your own biases prevent you from seeing the bigger picture. Politics, as currently played, is a zero-sum game. One cannot blame governments for pursuing their self-interest.
