i remember when i joined the Air Force 4 years ago, watched this at Church. I remember when the song says "and then 2 years later" Everybody would cheer. This Song will always have a special place in my heart.
I loved this song! I had never heard of it until recruit training, during church. I cried every time, lol, but it's such a powerful song! I graduated on 20120113, so I'm still very lost in the sauce right now. This makes me feel more "at home," lol.
nice to see all the young airmen just getting out of basic saying how much they love this song from sundays in bmt. Ive been out of basic for almost 3 years and believe me, those songs you hear will stick with you forever
I remember watching this in basic.....I was medically discharged from the military but I still feel a strong connection with anyone in the military. I would like to say thanks to all my brothers and sisters for the sacrifices. Some of you sacrificed much much more than me....I'll never forget the brothers I lost. You'll always be in my memories.
my girlfriend leaves for basic in june, i dont know how i will make it without her for those 4 months... but im so proud of her <3 I love you Jazminne Gelpi. your my soldier <3
Everyone celebrates the ones who go to War, but what about the men and women who are at the bottom of the food chain, the ones who are payed less than what their job is worth, many of them fight to keep their family alive, they sacrifice just as much as war Hero's and are never recognized, where do you think many of the soldiers came from, these people who kept them alive and raised them
Our son John is a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force and leaves this month for flight training. He's been passionate about the military and serving his country since he was a little boy. He is fulfilling his dream. May God keep him safe and all the men and women that serve in our armed forces protected.
Its weird listening to this song. just graduated basic for the Air Force and we listened to this song every sunday at church... cried every time thinking about family and friends. Ill never forget this song.
Big shout out to all my brothers and sisters at Lackland Air Force base going through basic training. I know this song gets at least 1 view on sundays there. Praying for all the people there and that are serving the country wherever they are.
I love this song it just remines me that there all people makeing choices to save someone and die even though they know that there r people home that will miss them and that they will do lots of things to protect the amrcan dream
This song makes me think of my brother he is afganistan and I'm scared to death! My uncle and grandfather were already killed! Bring my brother home safely! PLEEZ!
This song..... Has no meaning to me. No true value. I'm willing to follow the military into victory, but being hated and a loner your whole life takes its toll. This song keeps me going though. I gotta admit.
We listened to this song every Sunday at church in the all weather training facility. Private Pruett 2nd Recruit Training Battallion E co. Plt. 2096 MCRD Parris Island.
My husband is in training for the Air Force now and in every letter he sends me he asks me to watch this..ever since his first letter three weeks ago I have not stopped watching it. I love this song and this video..I cry every time I watch it.
My father was in the war. When he came home we were crying so hard. When he was deployed again, the next year he didnt come back. My brother was other fighting..... This song makes my cry :(
People don't understand how it feels to lose a loved one in the war, or even to have to love someone in the war, the constant fear that any moment they could be leaving Earth, I love this song because it reminds me my family is coming back, my sister has been gone for 3 years but I won't give up because I know she will make it, my heart breaks at every memory of her, I thank all veterans for letting me have the life I have.
thank to all the soldiers plus my dad, aunt, and cousin. thanks for the freedom
that you have gave and you risks your lives we appreciate it really really very much please keep doing what you are doing we pray for you people to be safe and hope you people reunite with your families =)
I'm a Marine currently stationed at 29 Palms, CA every sunday at bootcamp they played this song at church, you have no idea how many strong men learning to be United States Marines would start crying just listenening to this amazing song, and how many would be inspired to start a new week of hell just to be apart of the best military organization in the world. You are a amazing artist, and you have no idea the impact you have had on untold amounts of men and women.
my son went to basic. this is what they listened to every sunday. then he came home 10 days for leave showed me this. as the mother i couldn't stop crying. i now listen to this when i miss him. it brings the tears but also peace he will be coming home
For Matt and Chris... in Kandahar and Baghdad... I just want to say you are my best buddies and my heroes. It's hard to believe that the guys I spent my days in the high school courtyard with are now the men protecting my freedom.
You are my best friends. You make me proud to be American.
I am enlisting soon.. we will be brothers in arms again.
MY dad worked in the air force and i was only 5 months old or so, but mom had to watch me over till he came home. I was so happy to see him God helped him through i love this song!!!
This song painfully remindes me that my brother with soon going there, fighting for our country, I cry every time I think about it. I don't want him to go.
In 4-5 years, my boyfriend is gonna join the military. So, every veterans day weekend, I'm gonna write on my arm, You are good and you are brave. Not just for him, but for all the veterans. Alive and gone. God bless them and thank you for fighting for us.
Not going to lie, everytime I watch this. Makes me cry. - Serving in Iraq currently and it was about 4 years ago when I first seen this. Still makes me cry.
I am singing this for my 8th grade class on Veteran's Day. Thanks to every soldier out there. I am very grateful for your sacrifices. I have a father in the military and my oldest sibling is a future soldier. Thank you all for making freedom free!
This is why the pledge allegiance is important to me because they've lived and died to those who serve they've taught us all what truth and strength should be to those who serve courageously. AND THAT IS WHY THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE IS IMPORTANT TO ME!!
All thru basic I thought I wasnt going to make it.....but when I went to chapel on sundays we played this song it brung tears yo my eyes and kept me motivated to keep pushin
omg now 52 ppl dislike this song that is very rude n so not american im sad now wta if u wrote a song n posted it on youtube n ppl disliked it so do unto others as u would like them to do unto u
I did Air Force BMT at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Tx in June 2010. At church every Sunday, this song played. Every time I hear it, it brings back so many memories. It's nice.
@SN1P3ALLSN1P3RS He mentioned your base in the Bismarck concert tonight. He said he was invited to the service and stood in the back while they played the song at service. He talked about how honored he was to visit the base and the service.
I was there in 2006 they still play that at church on lackland..haha thats crazy i know they gotta get tired of playing that every sunday over and over and over.....
Remember the heroes serving our nation overseas today, but also remember the heroes struggling through everday life with a part of them gone right here in the U.S. Pray for them.
We don't kill because we hate what stands in front of us with intensity. We kill because we love what stands behind us with itensity.
wow 50 ppl used to dislike this now its 51 ppl some ppl in this world do not kno what it means to be free the people who dislike have to join the army some people go in with their group of friends n sometimes only 1 of them make it back alive the people who dislike this does not kno how it feels to lose a loved 1 my aunt was killed by HER HUSBAND RITE AFTER CHURCH my dad waz a cop at the time n when he saw his sister dead on the floor he almost cried n i never ever meet her (sobbing)
At my last 2 weeks of BMT they got rid of this song. They said they are trying to stray away from patriotic songs and gear more towards religious songs. I understand where they are coming from, but I feel sorry for all the new people going through BMT. This song was always really uplifting for members of my flight and myself.
its the best feeling to get a letter form your best friend, significant other, family member thats across seas because as long as your able to hold a letter and talk to him/her you know they are okay i havent heard from him in four months he is my best friend and i am so worried he took care of me growing up... his girlfriend and i are so worried we cry alot..... what if he doesnt come home?
@kissingthroughstorms he will be back. just keep praying and trusting in God. that's all we can do. we can't control the situation over there. we can't force peace. we can't protect them. they are protecting us. my brother's in the army, so I know how you feel. I just pray for him every night. I pray that he'll be home safely in 7 and a half months. and I know he will be. I know I'll see him next year. until then, we just gotta be strong for them. Remember that they've got it worse. God bless.
This song inspires me to be an MTI one day, And im going to do it. I want to hear trainees come back to the dorms on sunday and sing this song, while rolling t shirts and socks.
First time I heard this song was the sunday at the end of 1st week at Air Force BMT. My whole family is military spread out between the Air Force and Army who are deployed regularly, so the first time I heard this song it really hit home. Not only did it apply to my family but it would soon apply to me. It's an amazing tribute to american heroes in all branches of service.
this song still makes me cry every time i hear it. my soldier made it back in November 2007. but while he was gone he would call when he could i always said the same thing be for we ever hung up the phone (i order you to stay safe and come home to me and the rest of the family) the day he made it back home he walked up and said( baby i followed your orders and i love you so much).
Im a new United States Marine, and they played this video for us at religious service every sunday, and this song helped me pushed through a lot of the challenge of recruit training
(continued) n if someone in ur family decides to join the army or something n someone has to come tell u that they r dead how would u feel i think bout my brother everyday n how my dad calls me or txt me telling me that my brother died n the person having to go tell his girlfriend that her boyfriend died n his 2 YEAR OLD CON HAVING TO GROW UP WITHOUT A FATHER im just trying to say that mark put alot of effort in to this song n it is very very very mean of u to dislike it maybe someone in his
i want serve in the army when im older im 11 now and my brothers a cop n hes only 21 or 22 years old n he has a 2 year old son n a girlfriend n i cry myself to sleep because i wonder if he is dead n if he dies his little sister which is me i dont know wat i would do n his son would have to grow up without a father he lives in maryland n i live in florida n i barely see him only like 1 or 2 times every 2 years this is for the people who dislike this just think bout ur family
this video defines what america is and should be and for the 50 people who disliked it obviously your not american. God Bless The Troops. USA USA USA USA
dad was in military few years ago and i respect all of the ppl serving in the military.
To the 50 that dilike this need to be caught and put on the front line in afganistan without a gun<<<<<<<<<<<< awesome thumbs up on my comment if u agree
going to basic in 4-5 years now, then off to any war, why am I going to war? because I love my mom, dad, sisters, girlfriend, and country! I thank all troops who have faught to keep our country safe!
Been three years since bmt when I first heard this song in chapel. Emotions still hit me strong. Will never forget the good times at air force bmt. And French toast lol House of Pain! 323 TRS! God bless our troops and the USA!
Wow.... I see lots of people are reminded of BMT! First time I heard this song was in BMT. Myself and my sisters cried every time we sang this song during church. I love this song and video.
some ppl need to really understand wat the military is and that if it wasnt for the military we wouldnt be able to do alot of the things we do at a day-day bases
@faithfullstill Me too :'( my brother is deployed right now. He told us before he left to listen to this song when we missed him because he was coming back to us no matter what.
This song makes me cry so much but I try to listen to it every day that my big brother is over there fighting for our country, I love you bubba, be safe!!

@SN1P3ALLSN1P3RS He mentioned your base in the Bismarck concert tonight. He said he was invited to the service and stood in the back while they played the song at service. He talked about how honored he was to visit the base and the service.

Remember the heroes serving our nation overseas today, but also remember the heroes struggling through everday life with a part of them gone right here in the U.S. Pray for them.
We don't kill because we hate what stands in front of us with intensity. We kill because we love what stands behind us with itensity.

At my last 2 weeks of BMT they got rid of this song. They said they are trying to stray away from patriotic songs and gear more towards religious songs. I understand where they are coming from, but I feel sorry for all the new people going through BMT. This song was always really uplifting for members of my flight and myself.

kissingthroughstorms 3 months ago
@kissingthroughstorms he will be back. just keep praying and trusting in God. that's all we can do. we can't control the situation over there. we can't force peace. we can't protect them. they are protecting us. my brother's in the army, so I know how you feel. I just pray for him every night. I pray that he'll be home safely in 7 and a half months. and I know he will be. I know I'll see him next year. until then, we just gotta be strong for them. Remember that they've got it worse. God bless.
