I wonder if anyone remembers that the "bars" outside the cars on the slant side were added AFTER they were already in service...at the time it was still SOP to move from car to car while the train was in motion and the slant created what was considered a gap where people could pssibly fall...

even when i was living in New York, i never saw the A train at this station since it goes there only during peak runs.

thesubwaynut is right. They did debut starting in 1968. the cars were constructed from 1967-1969.

I go for the construction dates since that's when they were born, not by there debut in service.
