  • thanks for posting, one of my favorite neighborhoods in Tuscaloosa. Best college memory was leaving my Bent Tree apartment one winter night and taking a walk with my now-husband through The Downs just after it snowed - we made the first snow prints - it was magical. May it be so again - wishing you all the best with the clean up and restoration.

  • Thank you so much for getting back with me. I guess you bought Ed's house with the lions in front. I recognized the shot from the apartments in back and Dr. Payne's house in front. of yours. I am so sad to see all this but I hope you and your family are all fine. I wish I was there to help you recover. It was always such a good neighborhood and I am sure it still is. I lived there with my ex-husband, Dr. Warner who has since passed away.

    Please take care.

  • I lived at 68 The Downs several years ago. Any word about the rest of the neighborhood? Pretty much the same as what you shot?

This is so tragic. I hope everyone is OK.

  • @amickelsgis I live at 33 The Downs. Yea the neighborhood looks the same through out. Not so good, all the trees are down. It's sad, but its amazing to see all of the neighbors working together helping each other. Sadly there is one home that they found two bodies in, and another missing. Keep praying for Tuscaloosa

  • I lived at 31 The Downs for ten years. This looks like it is shot from my old house! Is it and if so I am very sorry you had to go through all this.

  • @elkocynthia I live at 33 The Downs so I was right next door to where you lived. Yea its very sad to see all this happen. We got hit by the edge of the tornado. The neighborhood looks completely different now. I'm sure you remember how it looked in spring time with all the pretty trees, not a single tree standing now.
