The Obama Federal Pay freeze is important. Air Traffic Controlers are over staffed and overpaid so far are equipped with product and no service do they provide Obama. Why not all business? Why? ATnT makes Radar, ATnT makes Phones and brodcast from Unided. Oh Yes There is Western Union communications. So lests talk about business and those who know how to use it.
Visited the Tower a few months ago Wayne was our tour guide got to meet everone up top an talked to the ATM i believe downstairs in TRACON probably the best tour ever one thing i need to ask was where are they building the new TRACON an TWR facility is it right next door or by the new terminal 3
Glad I'm not a Traffic Controler. Long hours 45 to 60 a week and Heavy stress. Like educated like Bill Gates and paid like DishWasher. Kids that can't stay in school. Pension like a BusBoy some Day. Yuck
@vegasatc Your retirement is gonna suck. Your health care is garbage. No dental benifts and your kids will never finish college. You ask me the factory pays me better and my budy has a new car from ford garrage. Rather work for TWA. My mother can't afford to buy her grand daughter a car for work. Talk about poor.
Nope the Hilton's got the best. Low man on the toldem pole is all you are. Yet I'm a well put radio broadcaster I'm a major in anministration heavy. Gifted in drafting and everything in Ratios by proportion. I do this on my free time as a hoby. Paris pays better as they say. I did'nt want to retire she was to good to me. Cool nine gravy just going down the elevator. I look at BlackStone and say I'm glad it's them and not me my bills are paid maid in the shade.
@XGViper2gamer Talking about poor, how about your perception of Air Traffic Control? You couldn't be more wrong .. the Canadian system has some of the best technology, the best software, great work environment and extremely good pay. Pension is fantastic and you work 35 hours a week. Have fun working at your McJob, leave the real jobs to the pros dudeeeee
Love the video. I too wish it were longer and explained what they were doing. I love flying on my favorite plane...SOUTHWEST!! And my favorite place to go is Vegas! Will be headed there Nov. the 15th! I will get there at 11:40 from Houston Hobby. I can't wait!! :)
@resny0 Starting salaries are higher on air traffic controllers, yet experienced pilots usually earn more than experienced controllers. A pilot starting salary is around $62,000 and can go up to $240,000+ for experienced pilots. Starting ATcontrollers earn around $90,000 up to $185,000+ for experienced controllers. On top of this you have to take into account training, costs of becoming a pilot can spiral whereas I know (in Britain at least) the CAA your FAA subsidises the costs of ATC training.
@StickedJJ As I said before I'm not a controller and only know about UK employment, so this may be different in the States. Air traffic controllers as well as pilots do not need a degree in order to be employed however it does help in the selection process. As long as you have high academic skills then you should have a big advantage.
hi!!! i live in india and i would like to know ,what is the minimum educational requirment(s). I AM IN LAST YEAR OF MY GRADUATION COURSE and i was wondering to get further studies and get a job in ground tower controller!!
plz reply thanxs! and you are welcomed to give more suggestions and views thanxs again!!!
@hghskid i went to school for 3 years, worked a shit job for another year and half waitiing for my call and class date, waited another 7 months for my class date, went to training in oklahoma for 3 months, trained in the tower and checked out in 6 months, waited 6 months for a radar training date, went to radar school for 1 month in oklahoma, trained for 1 year in radar and checked out, waited 6 months for my in charge certificate, so start to finish a shade under 7 years
airport size has nothing to do with there being a CTI school there. Take UND for example. GFK is an extremely small airport compared to others, but has the top CTI school in the country.
@LiquidFrost It's quite different in Europe; many Spanish controllers are getting paid $1.2 million a year (10x more than the Spanish prime minister) with a basic salary starting at around $250,000 a year for a typical controller. In Britain controllers are paid on average $90,000 - $110,000 a year which works out at just above $55 an hour and in France controllers are paid nearer $70 average an hour.
Are you thinking of going the RAF route YorkshireJunkiesco?, I'd be happy to get in either RAF or in civvy street in NATS (RAF for the lifestyle perhaps-and I can say I enjoy the forces life style as when I'm not studying it's what I do in Reserves, but if you want money, go civvy street if you can).
Oh for the record; it's nice to see someone else from gods land on here.
@tiwoodsta1 you may be able to get a job without a degree, your chances are roughly 1 in 4 being hired of the street. If you do get a CTI degree, accociates or bachelors, your chances go way up to about 4 in 5. But it still takes about 8 months to complete the hiring process. And the waiting period can take a year or longer.
@sk84lf U don't want to be a controller, I am on and you don't want to do this I assure you. What's in the video is the end result of all ur training. It's like showing you a surgeon who has a mansion, nice cars, & a big bank account; what u don't see is the$100k in student loans, all the studying u have to do in med and undergraduate school, taking the MCAT, and all of the stuff associtated with becoming a doctor. Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1) Why do we enjoy flying?
(2) Why do we feel relax and more optimistic when we are at the airport/airfield?
(3) What is the environmental factor(s) that causes us to feel enjoyable when we are at the airport/airfield?
(4) What do you enjoy most for being at the airport/airfield?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)
