If you watch the video you will see that the house had a single 400 watt light running. no television, computer, fridge, etc. etc. And even if the house did have other appliances running, a single grow light uses only 400 watts, a typical standalone freezer uses about 2000 watts. But in the end police need real evidence to legally raid your house. you are using more electricity than normal, that is still just a suspicion. Hope that helps.

They are doing it in Houston, too. I was outside my house talking to a Harris County Deputy at 2:00AM one morning when a twin-engine Beechcraft flew overhead at no more than 300ft. A few minutes later, it flew by again, a few hundred feet further east. The deputy said that they were DEA using FLIR to spot houses that were emitting high amounts of heat, indicating pot growers.

absolutely not. If you watch the video you will see that the house had a single 400 watt light running. no television, computer, fridge, etc. etc. And even if the house did have other appliances running, a single grow light uses only 400 watts, a typical standalone freezer uses about 2000 watts. But in the end police need real evidence to legally raid your house. you are using more electricity than normal, that is still just a suspicion. Hope that helps.

To claim an "anonomous" tip is the source of their probable cause for a search warrant is so weak on its face. If TX law allows an accuser to remain anon then it makes no one acountable for, (or leaves no one protected from), false accusations.

They are doing it in Houston, too. I was outside my house talking to a Harris County Deputy at 2:00AM one morning when a twin-engine Beechcraft flew overhead at no more than 300ft. A few minutes later, it flew by again, a few hundred feet further east. The deputy said that they were DEA using FLIR to spot houses that were emitting high amounts of heat, indicating pot growers.
