  • Frasier with a talk show.

  • Isn't the way the lady looks at the camera at 0:25 kind of eerie....?

  • "I read somewhere that you thing television owes a lot of stale junk food."

    *Audience laughs*

    Wat.

  • The Voice of Unicorn.

  • Cracked.com

  • Cracked.

  • Man, this would've been sweet on TV if somebody picked it up.

  • Clearly Orson controlled some aspects of this endeavor, and not others. Can you imagine if he could pick the guests?

  • I'll take a drunk Orson Welles over a sober Jay Leno any day of the week.

  • @ErisRising And I'd take a cheese grater to the face over Jay Leno. I have no idea how he's even slightly successful.

  • @Kasevam, because the average American is an idiot that likes bland stale comedy. I don't know how else to explain the success of Jay Leno. He never says anything remotely funny, there's absolutely no edge or cleverness to his bits, every point he makes is cliche and his interviews are completely uninteresting and soft. He's by far the worst late night talk show host in my lifetime.

  • @Kasevam The appetite of the American public for sheer mediocrity has ceased to be astounding to me. I now find it vaguely depressing when I bother to consider it at all.

  • the girl at 0:51 was so sexy...

  • I love this mans voice. I wish I had his voice.

Alas... I'm about four years of German buffet away from having the body to provide the acoustic environment for that baritone.

I dunno what Cracked was rattling about, this seems like it would have been pretty good, actually.

  • zzz

  • Craaaaacked.

  • "Welcome... to the launching party....MWHAHAHAHA"

  • Oh God how I wish this had sold. We wind up with Merv Griffin and Johnny Carson instead.

Another unsold pilot of Welles, from the '50s, "The Fountain of Youth," is one of the most jaw-droppingly brilliant half hours ever filmed. It's electrifying and SO original in its presentation.

  • Wow...never saw this one. Many thanks. It could have worked.

  • WellseanTheater in the Round for the ages, thanks to YouTube forever!

  • I love these shows that never were.

I wish for a DVD collection consisting of just unaired pilots and unwanted shows. EPIC.

  • will you be putting up the interview with the Muppets and Jim Henson & Frank Oz and the magic act?
