whatever you dont know what your talking about this is my cuz and thats just him. You really dont know what your talking about you dont know him or how he talks we lived in the westside of sa and thats how mexicans talk there most guys here talk choppy and pause alot, how can you call them like you see them you dont know my cuz and the things he struggled with before the fight!
This is a VERY telling interview, he sounds like crap here....slow, and semi-slurring......i've watched him since his debut, and he spoke TOTALLY differently a couple of years ago.
yeah but my point was if you've heard him speak when he just turned pro, you would KNOW that he sounds punchy, his family and corner are supposed to watch such things.
This is such a tragedy. I hope the sport of boxing see's this as a chance to add headgear as an added form of protection. You can still win a fight with landed punches and body shots. It's a shame something like this had to happen.
And without K0's, a dying sport would finally get the coffin nail pounded in. People choose to fight. They choose to take the risk. Should Nascar lower their speeds because of crashes? Should football be banned altogether because of the risk of paralysis? Get real.
About the football comment. No, but football has evolved into the sport it is today. Thicker pads, more sturdy helmets. The olympics uses headgear. If people wish to see true KO's, they should watch UFC.
I agree about the UFC; MMA might be that final coffin nail. But so long as boxing exists, I think it would be arrogant for officials to decide to take away fighters right to choose for themselves. In my life, I've watched one freedom after another get taken away in the name of safety. Freewill is endangered and it terrifies me. Such a radical move in boxing would set a precedent we would see in our lives. Do you want it to be unlawful to eat fried food because it causes high cholesterol?
I don't think anyone should govern what we do. If there is something we can do to make it somewhat safer, I'm for it. It would be cold for someone to say he/she meant and tried to kill the other fighter. Yes, boxers know there might be a slight chance of death, but lets lessen the odds.
The odds are already minimal. Only about seven fighters a year die, most in places without good commissions. There's at least that many large plane crashes, killing hundreds. Should that mean planes only fly a hundred feet off the ground at half the speed? Life is dangerous. Hundreds die a day in car crashes. People die as collateral damage constantly. More people are crippled in the NFL than killed in boxing. Box has a century of history now. It shouldn't be changed.
My heart goes out to Oscar Diaz and I pray for God to please see him through this tragedy. I know it's a risk in the sport, but I would rather never see him box again, and still be okay, than for anything serious to be wrong. Geez I feel so bad right now...
