  • I really don't understand what is wrong with Youtube today but every time I try to search for videos on places to see when in India I keep being directed to videos of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final Vancouver rioting, like what gives?

  • sono Italiano ho viaggiato in India per 5 anni, e quando la gente mi chiede dell India io rispondo: vai a vederla e sii rispettoso. Considero l India una Madre ed una Maestra di Vita. Kashi è nel mio cuore.

  • This is not a RIOT . This be a regular day in our UP :)

  • It saddens me without end to see the poor get railroaded by the better off for their own ideas of what is correct. Temples are usually built in chosen places with relevant energies and I hate to see such structures coming down in such a brutal fashion. Interesting pictures at the end - looked almost alien! Thanks for the vid Noddingcat :)

  • As of now the hotel (actually a restaurant) has been built with a few shops/internet cafe on ground floor, the street leading to assi is quite narrow..

  • what a waste of time thanks for puting such a lousy video online.....let me guess you are some dumb foreigner.

  • @Rohit84up

Rohit writes English like an American, with these classics: 'lousy', and ' guess you are some dumb foreigner.', too bad this idiot didn't learn how to speak in-ga-lish properly.

  • It seems every one posting comments are not from Varanasi. I pity these people's ignorance. The event recorded is not at all a communal riot. It was a demolition drive by city administration to get rid of unauthorised occupants from government land.

Please, if you don't understand India, refrain from making any sweeping remarks. You people stink.

  • @amritdasgupta

    Boring!

And what did these unauthorised occupants do when the police charged them with sticks and guns.

I was there I saw it all. If you had read the text with this film you would realise how pointless your comments are.

You are not only stupid but insulting too. No doubt a BJP voter.

  • one word - babri masjid!

  • That's two words.....

Besides the Mosque in question is in south india, and Varanassi is in the North.

    Your comment will be ignored.

  • but you are wrong. babri masjid is in the heart of north india, in uttar pradesh. i dont agree with demolishing houses of worship, but now you guys know what it feels like.

  • Incorrect.

Please don't generalise with phrases like "you guys" this is the territory of racists'.

It's nice that you don't agree, are you insinuating that I think it's a good thing?

Before you generalise and insult people I suggest you get your facts right.

  • i didnt realize at first that you are a convert. i am glad you are taking an interest in india, especially living in the uk it would do alot to lessen prejudice against indians and i applaud that. but please stay away from the fundamentalists and fanatics who belong to the rss and vishwa hindu parishad.

  • I'm sure you are well intended, with the above comment. However please stop patronising me with your presumptions.

I saw your piece on Desi Girls, which I thought was generalised and offensive.

I suggest you get your own house in order first, before you try to run other people's lives.

  • like i wrote before, babri masjid, at least now you know what it feels like. you can tell that to your swami guru the next time he screams 'jai shree ram'.

  • So this piece of scum doesn't deny he is racist.

  • Sure, the people in the video are poor, the place is not entirely "developed", but it has more personality and character about it than 80% of the locations in our so called developed world. A London suburb with nothing but a tube line to the centre and a high speed internet connection, or a vibrant community with thousands of years of cultural heritage; I know where I'd rather be. Development is a matter of perspective, not a straight line of so called progress.

  • I'm sure there's plenty of time for India to "catch up" and become another soulless centre of global capitialism, I imagine in fact that the many derogatory comments posted on here might be changing in tone somewhat throughout the next 30/40 years. Additionally - for those who seem to perceive it as indicative of ignorance - how exactly is rioting against a disgraceful foreign financial initiative showing anything but the balls to stand up for your own beliefs?

  • india, pakistan, bangladesh, sri lanka r all jst failed states filth wid corrupt idealogies thank god my gr8 grand parents migrated to singapore!

  • Poor illiterate people in any poor third-world country, what do you expect? Thank god that it's changing gradually and there is much reason for hope in India. You just can't compare a drop-in-the ocean-populated Singapore that's ruled with an iron fist by a dynasty (however benign and good their policies).. Anyway, people like you used to use the same language on China 10-20 years back, so time will be the great arbiter.

  • we thank to u r grand parents, for migrating to singapore as a labours, we dont need plp lyk u on this soil.

  • So poor u can't develop ur Brain over there....

Singapore runs coz of Indian marine trade...n ya n somewhat of that Communist Dictator .....

Compare Economy n also Population ratio...India will be atill far better...

  • I like the way that little girl's body moves

  • super power? NOT!

  • Curious use of 'in-ga-lish' in this pointless comment

  • You idiot...that's a sarcastic way of saying "India isn't a super power"... You add "NOT" in the end.

    What a fucking nutbag!

  • Maybe in spaz speak, matey, but not in the real world. Please, if you must act like a stereotype can you do it somewhere else.

  • Idiot? And you're the one with defective English.

  • No, India does not aspire to become a super power. I believe they want to be a "sooopa-pawah", which is defined differently. It's definition is a lot closer to "super-pauper" than "superpower".

  • stop. india is not the greatest country in the world and might never become one. a lotta ppl lacks education, i m indian but i dont think our countrys the greatest. shame how much polluted ganga river is. shame.

  • I agree thats why it made people like you who can make the difference...

  • is that a good thing or bad about me?

  • you need to have faith..seriously!! You're basically not being patriotical to your country and to your people. Maybe you could donate or help some of the needy people and the environment instead of just complaining.

  • his speking facts !!

which seem 2 hurt sum ppls nervs

  • well

  • Wow, India is quite advanced and developed indeed, just like the "India Shining" media campaign described. Come 2020, India will be a Sooopa-Pawah, one hundred twenty percent sure... most definitely maybe... OK, probably perhaps... Ok, ok, you bahsterds, stop making fun of India!

  • the only way india can really eliminate and erradicate this poverty as per shown in this video..is by communism my friend...beacuse a democractic government is plagued by its own freedom policy..ppl r too free to misuse and extract the the bad side of the term freedon.. like they be so free that they can bully people.i.e police.rich fuckers u know ...the balance has shifted fellow indians and only way the great balance to stability between the living and the dying can be restored is by COMMUNISM

  • Pure Communism, straight out of Marx is great in an isolated community where there is no consumerism! Think some Soviet Gulag Farm in the middle of Siberia, in 1925. Not the materialistic Bollywood Society that India is today.

Everyone wants a DVD player, a Maruti car and a 1kg party pack from the local Gulab Jammon store.

So unfortunately I feel the assertion that communism would work in India is nonesense. Possibly on the local level, but not nationally.

  • My mother is Hungarian, and I saw how supposed 'communism' raped Hungary in the 70s and 80s. Hungary was an Isolated country then, and it didn't work.

India is utterly connected, communism would never work there.

  • I lived 25 years in communism :) Maybe You are right - India´s main problem is the Indian culture, religion, mentality. Break it with communism or christianity, apply colonialism, and India will be much better place to live for everybody.

  • good idea hats off to u but this pupil never realise the truth.British know better how to handel this rascals, eliminate all the scoundrels of this upper caste.

  • ^ Did you say something?

  • Communism MY ASS! if only communism can give anything to india, its suppression under commie bastard's rule! Go lick chiense toilet bowls Mr. Hammer & 'Sick'le! We know wat progress WB has made under commie rule! Better dead than red! Go tell ur Chinese fatherS!

  • ur communism is a dead idea, it made the countries poor, none of the rich countries is following ur retard policy, communism fucking sucks

  • peace is the best act for this moment

  • there was a huge riot when i was there. woke up one morning and decided to bathe in the ganges, never again was sick for days!! filthy polluted corpse water...

  • Am talking about only foreign prostitutes infiltration into india. Let us be specific in discussion.

  • Yes lets....

Please state the relevance of your pointless inaccurate comment.

  • India too much booming in economy is not good for the culture. Many western prostitutes started to come to india because of this new foreign comanies and the tourists.

  • The Prostitutes are from Bihar, and you know it....

You believe your country's propaganda.... LOL

  • I am an Indian Hindu guy going to Brandeis University in which is a primarily Jewish college in the USA. Fortunately it is a liberal school free of zionists and extremists alike. But I did not understand ur reference to Israelis here....please explain.

  • The Hotel is being built so that Westerners and Israelis can enjoy the view, what don't you understand?

any tourist that has been to India, and any Indian living in a tourist place will be fully aware of the arrogance and hatefully behaved Israelis.

They are blissfully unaware of where they are, they are rude and aggressive to locals and other tourists. They think they are better than everyone. This is untrue, because no one is better than any one else.

  • Israelis

  • And 'vid' is proper English ?

Shame people have to get all up tight.

I think the girl is very talented.

  • 'Vid' may not be proper English, but it does what a language is intended for: convey the message and thoughts form one person to another. The title, however misleads.

  • The title of this vid led me to believe a girl was going to whack someone with a bottle in a riot. Assuming the person who titled the vid was just not using proper English. I see now that they were.

Can one find this video repulsive and yet NOT be a racist? Because I think I fall into that catagory.

  • says a guy called 'rich' from the usa.

your real agenda is clearly transparent.

  • ppl like you piss me off

  • So Rich, not only are you racist, but angry with it. It fits the stereo-type perfectly.

  • Your self righteousness is a more insidious form of anger.

This is the last I will be commenting here regardless of any reply you may have.

    Thank You.

  • You are the winner! Insecure people need to win. In a world riddled by propaganda, this victim is towing the line of normality with an unbending loyalty to those that seek, and succeed to exploit him. His opinions are not his own, although he is proud of them. This person is repulsed by 'other' cultures, he is inexorable and simply wretched.

  • y do they look poor and dirty!!!!!!!

  • the mandir must be kept alive!

  • For the Respect of Sanatana Dharma, will someone censor this site and keep out bad elements.

  • Couldn't agree more.

Most of the racist comments come from Americans, followed by Israelis.

It's a sad generalisation that both those nations do produce over their fair share of ignorant self opinionated ego driven twats.

  • Yeah, sorry about that.

  • the girl is very talented. my yoga goal is to be able to do this--without the bottle.

  • I found Varanasi fairly touristy, and that was in 1998. When I visited Patna,I found the people on the Ganges river to be far less money orientated. I imagine thats how Varanasi probably would have been like in the 70's.

  • Actually, there are a lot of human right violations in India, even worse than China. Muslims and Christians were beaten and burned to death. Few ppl have been charged or convicted for these crimes. You can search these videos on youtube.

  • peace is the best act for this moment

  • yo Areeb1, how are Hindus screwed up people? care to explain?

  • jungly people but the girl have very emprassive art.

  • Hindus are one screwed up people.

  • some hindus are dums but hindus can be nice

  • like some muslims !!! who may be worst = only violence in deed, word and thought!!!At least, Hindus know that is body is temporary. compare to violence, poverty is not a crime.

  • I was at asi ghat in march, the construction look like it stopted...

  • That's so sad that they're adding to the already tourist-y Asi Ghat. I stayed across from there at the Ganges View Hotel a year ago and I can't imagine another hotel going up across the street :-(

  • good work, definetly varanasi is THE city.full of surprizes.
