People were laughing because just seeing Michael Richards made them all think of "Kramer" and they laughed instinctively. It's hard to judge this so many years later.
The illuminati is destroying is career by using racism than once he loses all his popularity and everyone pay him no mind, they knock him off(kill) it is apart of their ritual.
I really don't get this, and I've thought about this for some time now..... IT'S JUST WORDS!! Really, there are more important things to worry about in today's society than someone using a word that some consider to be offensive. I've never understood why people get so hung up on words, especially in this case with Michael Richards, who clearly is not a racist and is one of the greatest comedians of all time! You'd think that humanity would've evolved past this already
jerry i laughed whenever i watch your watch..but please dont fucking tell me not to laugh at anything..next thing you know hes gona be telling people not to laugh at the holocaust. (im kidding..i never laughed at the holocaust)
I dont think hes a racist, i just think that he is a comidian. I think he was angrey and he thought he was losing the crowed so he took it upon himself to try to make a "shocking joke". Just what i think. I also agree with @PianoMan1532
He got worked up on stage, flew off the handle and lost his cool. I don't think he's a racist, I think his emotions got the better of him and he wanted to really hurt the people that were ruining his show. Just my take. Sucks that it happened, but everyone makes mistakes.
I wonder if he really truly thinks that in his heart of hearts of if it was just a pissed off guy trying to cut deep and say the meanest thing he could think of.
i watched the original diatribe and it didn't really even make any sense. like the rantings of a drunk guy. it's almost like he was gonna go for a lenny bruce thing, shocking the audience, then explaining to them what was going on. but richards' thing was just random, like he was gonna go somewhere with it, then forgot what to do.
Letterman audiences are fucking retarded, they laugh at anything and everything.
Okay. here's my take on it. Bill Hicks did something similar. He was heckled by an audience one night and he flew off the handle calling one woman a drunk cunt, dancing around the stage and screaming at the audience, by comparison his actions were just as extreme. Except Michael stepped over the line by playing the race card. Something you just can't do in that situation. I think it was a moment of ignorance really
Why do i find this so funny? The fact that the negroes are holding this man hostage after ruing his act and Kramer apologizes to them like he mowed them down with a machine gun .....................is so absurd. letterman is a turd as usua "dave's on sale agian" .
@MIAMIHEAT1221 because when people see him they actually believe it's kramer. edie falco tells an interesting story about a time when some female fans of the sopranos would sympathise with her because of tony's philandering ways as though she was carmerla soprano, Some people out there are nuts. explains why they all believe everything bill o pinhead says.
@MIAMIHEAT1221 using the term afroamerican for one, two he has to eat his words because someone in the crowd had a camera and he has to save his career.
@MIAMIHEAT1221 i think they were laughing because the way he referred to blacks as ''afro americans'' and the way he said it. They were all also laughing because they remember how much of a fool he made himself look during the laugh factory racist rant now he has the nerve to be apologizing? if he didnt mean it he shouldnt of never said it.
Obviously Michael Richards was in rage-mode at the time, and when you're in rage-mode, you want to say the most hurtful thing you can possibly think of. Since the hecklers were black, racial slurs were the most obvious place to go. That doesn't necessarily mean that he harbours genuine hatred for all black people.
He should have said, "it's not a big deal, take your race card and shove it" he'd still be in business. But he went along with the over wrought shock and outrage, as if someone had committed another holocaust all by themselves and now he'll never work, again. Every other comedian who has trash talked, say for example, gays, has said, "whatever" and they still have a career.
@ion010101 and with what Mel gibson said about the Jews, what your saying is mel should have just said take your race card and shove it? that doesn't make any sense your type always brings up "the race card" i mean what is that there is no imaginary card he said something offensive and it offended a group of people. If dave chapelle said i hate you paleskins to white hecklers, and later decided to apologize your saying he should say to the whites who his statement offended shove your race card.
@virtuvianTrace The effect on your reputation isn't the same if you denigrate whites. It doesn't create the same sense of painful awkwardness in the room. The only way to get that sense of painful awkwardness is to go after blacks or hispanics. You see, it's a sore point to be black or hispanic, so insulting them hurts. No one minds being a cracker, or a whop, or a French frog, or a kike... so their slurs don't sting. You'll hear noise from anti-defamation groups, at most..
@ion010101 i highly beg to differ, first off Mel Gibson didn't even have to say a single word against the Jews before his infamous anti-Jew speech before hundreds of Jews protested his movie passion of the Christ because they where shown badly. former CNN host rick Sanchez got fired for saying that he thinks that it's Jews in america are not oppressed minority. you should tell Sacco and Vanzetti No one minds being a whop. racist comments "stings" anyone, BTW im black and it's not sore to be.
@virtuvianTrace I see what you're sayin', but, that movie went on to be a success and Mel Gibson still has a career. The moment "niggah" slips out of his mouth, he's done. Notice, for all his careless talk, he knows not to do that, at least. Everyone knows that's a deal breaker. That's why I know Richard is not a racist. It genuinely doesn't occur to him to walk on egg shells around Africans more so than with anyone else... to his demise.
@virtuvianTrace A comedian who is "edgy" may say horrible things about gays, chinks... if some Italians interrupt the show, they may say, "look, look, look at the whops" and still have a career. Not so for blacks and hispanics. And not because we're all against racism, but because we secretly believe blacks and hispanics to be lesser, to be special needs, and so more in need of protection. Our ethics aren't based on right and wrong; but on what is currently fashionable and sanctioned.
@ion010101 it's not that we just believe that, but rather because we've been indoctrinated (darwin) that certain faction of people are less valuable in society and today seeming to be somewhat more tolerant of this diversity, we now have somewhat of a conscience. Truth be told, there are some whites who could careless if we have other races here, there are some that don't want other races here and then there are those who actually love them and appreciate diversity. p.s. only blacks were enslaved
@RyMuEntertainment That's an astute observation. I'm always interested in people like you; what you do for a living, stuff like that. What do you do for a living, if you don't ask my asking here on the interwebs?

fuck him. yeah, he apologized, but he still said it. he still feels that way. the only reason he is apologizing is because the tape got out. he said he didn't know how to get in touch with the people, which is total bullshit. two of the guys were on the today show after this and richards was asked to join and he denied it. and on that show they say that the laugh factory had one of the guys' numbers. so he could have easily apologized.
@datdude131432 So what you're saying is that if you mess up and try to apologize, you shouldn't get another chance. That's the bullshit. I'm black and I've heard worse.
@finskeaudun You can't try to say "I'm black" like that...because I'm black too. and that's not what i'm saying.. He doesn't care about apologizing to them personally. He is just trying to save what he has left of a "career" if that's what you want to call it.
I am Black and i have more of an issue with Afro-American/African American than i do with being called a "nigger" (there are too many syllables in the former) just kiddin lol
this guy doesn't seem to be sorry at all! If you saw the video you could see that nobody was "heckling" him. This idiot is trying to play the victim. I hope he never gets a job again. You're not a racist my ass
@brittany49507 He is sorry, that people had to see him this way. Crowd's night was ruined. Now he has a negative shadow. You don't know him, this isn't acting he's doing, this is how he is, and he's upset over it. I saw the video with him in rage, not the entire act. @brittany49507 Meh, this guy was doing a stand-up, and someone interrupted. The fact that he interrupted made the whole mood awkward and it escalated from there. I don't blame Kramer, I blame the idiots who ruined the show. If You can't take it, leave. There are countless comedians who use race as the core for their show, and comic stand-ups are the places where there should be no tensions and arguments at all.
his career was over with the incedent already. if i were him i would have said fuck everyone and if i felt bad i would have paid extra reparations or w/e. but to come to look so weak on tv... fuck that.
im not saying that he was justified in what he said. but he knew he was fucked as soon as he said it. i would've said fuck it ill never show up on tv again (like he never will anyways). this is his last tv appearance.. bet on it.
ME: FUCK YOU. quit being such a sensitive little bitch.
I feel really bad for him, he's falling apart. He really looks bad in this interview. And for people to laugh at him is bullshit. People have no hearts. OOHHH yeah he called some one a nigger. It happens when your angry. Get over it.
@baked4211 Yeah, they just have to not be smiling and talk in a low-subtle tone and talk about their baby dying in a car crash and cry only to be take seriously, then they could just smile and be happy and then the audience will probably laugh again
Afro-American is still more P.C. to say then a lot of things. God we are so anal about everything these days. People get mad, people say things whether what ever race or creed someone may be. He apologized and we should take it for what it is. Really, what else CAN he do?!
i got to admit...this is one of his best acting jobs kramer has ever done...lol...he's only upset that he let his true feeling show...now people try to turn it around on innocent black people...HAVE YOU NO SHAME...have you no shame...
He maybe not be funny on stage. But just look at him during this interview he is Hilarius Camera loves him!!! Not everybody can be great stand up but hey not everybody can make people laugh just by having a camera pointed at you. His true talent is in front of camera
Chris Rock has made a fucking career outa doing what Michael Richards did one time! Blacks can say what ever they want but as soon as a white man opens his mouth it's fucking blasphemy
@tenaciousd1888 Its because of how he said it. he was in a rage, he said it for anger not shock value. Nobody was mad when Jaime Kennedy or George Carlin said it. Why? Because it's all about context. If he had said it during the act and not while yelling in anger at a black man, then it wouldnt be bad. The black guy also was at fault for calling him a cracker, so I'm not being one sided.
I think that any race can get away with joking about racial slurs, but Michael Richards's mistake was the CONTEXT in which he told his joke. It was an incredibly stupid move for him to call people "niggers" OUT OF ANGER like that. He got what he deserved and now he knows better. Lesson learned.
Take a lesson from Jamie Kennedy if you wanna shout the N word and make it fucking hilarious. He did it the right way. lol
Who's the prick acting as if whites are superior and great. He only said 'of course we whites aren't always perfect either' to throw you people off. The word nigger doesn't offend me, even when someone has used it for that intention, but his comment did offend me. If I'm not mistaken white people are the ones who have oily hair. If they didn't, they wouldn't have to wash it as often as they do so it won't get greasy, stringy, and disgusting. His comment about blacks being relatively unattractiv
Who cares....he said the n word out of anger to be hurtful......but listen to any black radio station in the country and they talk bad about white people all the time ...just be cause there isnt a certain name that they call white people that flames whites it is not different nor right...get over it
@FeebleNosemanny the black dude is also not famous whatsoever and has no need to apologize therefore. Richards HAS to apologize to get any future work in his field. He has virtually no choice whether or not he is actually sincerely sorry.
Why do people over react to the N-Word ? White's are barely ever affended by "Whitey" or "CRACKER". It ruined his career, people are such assholes sometime's !
@josephrinzo Then it should go the same way when a black guy wants to use the word "cracker." What Richards did on stage was fucked up because he said it in a malignant, hateful way. The fact that he said the word isn't nearly as important as the way he said it. It was disgusting. My point is that we can't have double standards. I'm a white guy. I have family members that are mixed, and if this guy on stage was talking to them, I would have something to say. Racism from all sides is ugly.
@josephrinzo Amen brother:) What goes around comes around...and the fact that Richards definitely won't have a career after this and will be picked out and recognized as a racist in the street will be good punishment for that thoughtless outburst.
Last night, the show Seinfeld humiliated and degraded the human dignity of the people of the Dominican Republic. The whole show presented them as not as refined and educated as the people of Cuba. I am seriously offended as I know that the Dominican people suffer the bitter and sometimes brutal consequences of racism. They are the poorest group of people in the United States. They are the new arrivals and have come here in search of a dream. Shame on all involved. They all need to apologize.
So pathetic the way all these brainwashed, feminized little PC pussies and their fragile sentimentality are so rattled by this grave offense. If it was some fucking black guy spewing hate toward whites no one would bat an eyelid. Shut the fuck up, idiot America. You're all a bunch of fucking wastes of life.
haha will it is in the past now, let it go but i have to say, he must be lying saying he was getting interrupted, everyone talks in a comedy club even when a person makes jokes he is making it seem as if they weren't talking but yelling...ha but the south park episode was pretty funny xD
@PrAnKsTeRJJ black people are offendede because black people had to overcome alot of stuff that white people put on us. Im not saying tht when black ppl say stuff about whites it right but i mean its just uncalled for to say stuff like tht
People should just get over words like "nigger" or "nigga". No one living to day is from the time that the term is used. Its not affecting anyone now. Humanity is so fucking stupid. Get the fuck over it we have bigger fucking problems then another 100 years of people complaning about fucking words.
@zoomerzrewl white people would care you fucking retard. the fact that you made that statement and have three likes shows that some people would care. bitch
@zoomerzrewl Dude, If Dave Chappelle stood in a room full of black people and started SCREAMING RACIAL SLURS at two of the only white people in the room, I guarantee you people would care. He wasn't telling jokes about how "white people and black people have different weekends," he was spitting with rage, pining for a time when black people were regularly hanged from trees. Nobody is outraged about Lisa Lampanelli, but they ripped Tracy Morgan to shreds. Its not the racism, it's the hatred.
@zoomerzrewl I just hate how everyone thinks that black people have this shield protecting them. Seriously, any race would react to racism, not just black people.
@zoomerzrewl believe me, if a black comedian showed racism, NO MATTER HOW FAMOUS HE IS, he would get a reaction and would face a career destruction like Michael.
@zoomerzrewl he would what? bring the white people back to owning land and people? its different because of history, its not just black and white (no pun intended)
@zoomerzrewl lol white people wouldnt let it bother them. this is coming from a black man. what he said didnt bother me a bit. it actually had me dying lauphing at this white niggers ignorance. . I would buy a ticket no joke. He is very brave to show his ignorance like that. What a nigger (michael richards) Lol trust me dude, most whites think like me(the majority or 90% more than blacks do) and if watching black man throw racial slurs then whites will see there ignorance as humor and lolol!
@zoomerzrewl God you're an idiot. Just because there are double standards doesn't mean you should defend something that is obviously wrong, and what he did was wrong.
@zoomerzrewl You make a fair point, but there is a larger history of racism and prejudice against black people than white people. So by saying those things, it was hateful in context.
@qwerty112996 Those who were born in that period can say what they want I can agree. But for the others I don't see the reason to be racist. Especialy in a country where they have a lot more future than Africa.
People were laughing because just seeing Michael Richards made them all think of "Kramer" and they laughed instinctively. It's hard to judge this so many years later.

his career was over with the incedent already. if i were him i would have said fuck everyone and if i felt bad i would have paid extra reparations or w/e. but to come to look so weak on tv... fuck that.
im not saying that he was justified in what he said. but he knew he was fucked as soon as he said it. i would've said fuck it ill never show up on tv again (like he never will anyways). this is his last tv appearance..

Afro-American is still more P.C. to say then a lot of things. God we are so anal about everything these days. People get mad, people say things whether what ever race or creed someone may be. He apologized and we should take it for what it is. Really, what else CAN he do?!

Chris Rock has made a fucking career outa doing what Michael Richards did one time! Blacks can say what ever they want but as soon as a white man opens his mouth it's fucking blasphemy
tenaciousd1888 4 months ago
@tenaciousd1888 Its because of how he said it. he was in a rage, he said it for anger not shock value. Nobody was mad when Jaime Kennedy or George Carlin said it. Why? Because it's all about context. If he had said it during the act and not while yelling in anger at a black man, then it wouldnt be bad. The black guy also was at fault for calling him a cracker, so I'm not being one sided.
brawlmasterx96 4 months ago
I think that any race can get away with joking about racial slurs, but Michael Richards's mistake was the CONTEXT in which he told his joke. It was an incredibly stupid move for him to call people "niggers" OUT OF ANGER like that. He got what he deserved and now he knows better. Lesson learned.
Take a lesson from Jamie Kennedy if you wanna shout the N word and make it fucking hilarious. He did it the right way. lol
GreenAppleEnvy 4 months ago
Who's the prick acting as if whites are superior and great. He only said 'of course we whites aren't always perfect either' to throw you people off. The word nigger doesn't offend me, even when someone has used it for that intention, but his comment did offend me. If I'm not mistaken white people are the ones who have oily hair. If they didn't, they wouldn't have to wash it as often as they do so it won't get greasy, stringy, and disgusting. His comment about blacks being relatively unattractiv

FeebleNosemanny 5 months ago 35
@FeebleNosemanny the black dude is also not famous whatsoever and has no need to apologize therefore. Richards HAS to apologize to get any future work in his field. He has virtually no choice whether or not he is actually sincerely sorry.

Why do people over react to the N-Word ? White's are barely ever affended by "Whitey" or "CRACKER". It ruined his career, people are such assholes sometime's !

White ppl should not use the word Nigga unless like a black person gives u permission
josephrinzo 5 months ago
@josephrinzo Then it should go the same way when a black guy wants to use the word "cracker." What Richards did on stage was fucked up because he said it in a malignant, hateful way. The fact that he said the word isn't nearly as important as the way he said it. It was disgusting. My point is that we can't have double standards. I'm a white guy. I have family members that are mixed, and if this guy on stage was talking to them, I would have something to say. Racism from all sides is ugly.
travisxgreggxajax1 5 months ago
@travisxgreggxajax1 i agree. ur right, its a two way street. and the less racism, the better.
josephrinzo 5 months ago

@mnsc410 Well if white people take offence to something, it doesn't get pasted all over the news... does it?
zoomerzrewl 6 months ago
@zoomerzrewl Dude, If Dave Chappelle stood in a room full of black people and started SCREAMING RACIAL SLURS at two of the only white people in the room, I guarantee you people would care. He wasn't telling jokes about how "white people and black people have different weekends," he was spitting with rage, pining for a time when black people were regularly hanged from trees. Nobody is outraged about Lisa Lampanelli, but they ripped Tracy Morgan to shreds. Its not the racism, it's the hatred.
yeguera 5 months ago
@zoomerzrewl I just hate how everyone thinks that black people have this shield protecting them. Seriously, any race would react to racism, not just black people.

@greatslyfer it's not about who would react to it. it's about who can get away with it

PikaJew1213 5 months ago
@zoomerzrewl lol white people wouldnt let it bother them. this is coming from a black man. what he said didnt bother me a bit. it actually had me dying lauphing at this white niggers ignorance. . I would buy a ticket no joke. He is very brave to show his ignorance like that. What a nigger (michael richards) Lol trust me dude, most whites think like me(the majority or 90% more than blacks do) and if watching black man throw racial slurs then whites will see there ignorance as humor and lolol!
TheEagpro2 5 months ago
@zoomerzrewl God you're an idiot. Just because there are double standards doesn't mean you should defend something that is obviously wrong, and what he did was wrong.
TheSrkkl 5 months ago 4
@TheSrkkl double standard. there you go. now i know that i'm not the only one who sees it. that's all i wanted :) thanks
zoomerzrewl 5 months ago
@zoomerzrewl You make a fair point, but there is a larger history of racism and prejudice against black people than white people. So by saying those things, it was hateful in context.
KINKSTA55 4 months ago
@zoomerzrewl You know, after that period from the 1700's to the 1950's, I think African Americans can say what they want.
qwerty112996 4 months ago
@qwerty112996 Those who were born in that period can say what they want I can agree. But for the others I don't see the reason to be racist. Especialy in a country where they have a lot more future than Africa.
