This song is so new wavey, it could've been on the Pretty in Pink Soundtrack. SO RAD!!! (BTW, Kurt's playing the same 1969 Lake Placid Blue Competition Mustang from the Smells Like Teen Spirit video.) This video is so friggen priceless.
@luitenant22 No, even though I like some of his songs, it was mostly a trolling joke about him not being able to make any more music, but you misunderstood. I fail.
@luitenant22 I could have gone the "THIS GUY SUXXXX!!!!!!!!! FUCK NERVANA!!!" route, but when I'm in the mood to troll, I prefer the somewhat intelligent route.
@Kurdt1990 Kurt perfered small venues, when they made him go on tour in larger places with huge venues he hated it. You cant have as much fun, no stage diving, or chemistry with the crowd
You know i'm pretty sure the music scene is pretty close to what it was pre nevermind right now. Can we please get some good and meaningful rock in this new decade.
You can see why this wasn't on In Utero, wouldn't have fit the mood. The fourth Nirvana album would've probably had songs like Do Re Mi on it etc, probably would've been on that one. Shame it never happened.
@Astbruchgefahr ... But that is what the band was about. Being unorthodox. In Utero is a break from pop and is dirty and heavy. And then there is "Dumb". And "All Apologies". I think this song would have fit in nicely! It is in my top-5 nirvana tunes of all time, easily.
I have been listening to them since about 1991 and still find the music relevant today. I am not going to bash today's music, I just enjoy nirvana and Primus and Megadeth more, LOL.
The music of Nirvana has an energy that projects beyond the mind to the fabric of our very being. Kurt Cobain was a very honest person who connected with a vibe that was much deeper and inspired than just rambunctiousness and grunge. If we can be as honest as Kurt was about seeking truth, we can skip all the ups and downs of pain, rage, and drugs, and go straight to the bliss of being alive. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says.
@TheVasilyZaitsev going on vids saying this song sucks for a reaction or picking fights i could troll you for not knowing what a troll is but thatd be dumb pretty much angry a troll is a 13 year old ignore the trollers
@poulxeriotatos well Cobain wrote two songs with other artists in mind, talk to me and opinion. After his death Love gave the two songs, "talk to me" to Iggy and "Opinion" to Mark Lanegan from the Screaming Trees. Screaming Trees actually recorded the song but did not release it it cause it was pretty soon after Cobain's death. Iggy on the other hand never perfomed "talk to me", not sure why. I don't remember where I got this info, but i'm sure that if you google it you'll find something :)
@JesusFreak288 i don't think that's true. can you find any link to prove it? this is the first time i hear about this, and i honestly have gone through piles of nirvana history. anyways i'm pretty sure this is nirvana's song.

lmao at how they are mocking themselves in the beginning. A true rock band that didnt care for money or fame. They never had to play at a small club like that in that time ever again.. but they did
@CobainsDisease89 I believe there could be another Kurt, or another band like Nirvana. Not saying the same type of music, but somebody who comes along and changes music for the better. It's happened before, and history tends to repeat itself.
Also Nirvana was overrated. If there was anyone who would agree it would be Kurt. He was joking about popularity all the time. STOP IDOLISING PEOPLE FOR GOD SAKES. Kurt might still be alive if it wasn't for al the people thinking he was some kind of god. Damn.....humans really are like sheep....... meeehhhhh
@waaromzomoeilijk and not all nirvana fans are obssessed with kurt. and ppl idolize every music artist, some ppl idolize eminem or tupac even chamillionaire, it happens with almost every artist. i dont idolize any but im just saying it happens with a lot of artists.
This is not a cover, this is an original song written by Kurt Cobain. He wrote this in 1990. Not only can this be found on the Lights Out Box Set, but it also can be found on Outcesticide (not Incesticide) and that's the best version I have ever heard. In February of 1994 Pat Smear confirmed that Kurt was thinking about putting this on the next Nirvana record and they exchanged ideas but then everything went downhill from that point on obviously. This is one of my favs. Really good song.
this video is great, but why does it seem like every comment on here has some kind of confusing grammatical error and/or screwy wording? Have they all been processed through google translater or is everyone just high?
'pretending we're still underground...' awwww. I'd hate to be put in a stadium where there's a field between you and the audience. I love dark, sweaty little clubs :P x
wish I could sing a chorus like that so effortlessly. I want Kurt's smoke, medecine-damaged throat! Also its kinda cool that this was the band doing a secret supporting act for Mudhoney but also kinda strange. Mudhoney are awesome but how can they play after Nirvana? x
This song is not a cover. Kurt wrote this in 90. There is another live performance of this song on Outcesticide - Vol.. 1. One of my favorites and he told Pat Smear in January of 94 that he thought about putting this song on a new album as Smear is quoted in an interview as saying.

@CobainsDisease89 it wasn't heroin that killed him, it was his wife, called me a loon or a conspiracy theorist, but really read what he was planning on doing right before he was mysteriously found dead with a post-mort gunshot wound to his head. He was getting a divorce and writing his wife out of his will and making it so his daughter got everything if he died. He just needed to sign the papers. So go read the real story before you blame drugs.
I agree... I think Courtney was mean and bossy because Kurt looks so sensitive to me... because he was emotionally scarred and Courtney saw that so she took advantage of him.
