Wow thanks for the post - finally tracked it down. My old car cassete player was stolen years ago with this on. He's a great songwriter - I think his song Haboglabotribin sung by Bernard Wright should have been used on the last version of Charlie and the chocolate factory. It would have gone so well with the dance of the Oompa Loompa's
Incredible song. Funky, jazzy, mean heavy bass, pretty chords with tension, I listened to this on my Ipod shuffle all summer when I'd get off of work in the morning.
That guy can realy slap that bass guitar hard. I just love the sound of a slapped bass - simply awesome!
Is that really him? I won't state the obvious but he has changed beyond all recognition...but still a fantastic musician and singer though. I have one of his album from the early eighties. Thanks fo sharing this video with all the youtube folk.
This guy is amazing. I saw him at the Jazz Cafe some time ago and he blew me away. When is he coming back over? No-one plays like him. He's right up there with Stevie and Ramsey in my book. Nuff respect, nuff said
Thanks to Zero 7 and their LateNightTales compilation CD, I discovered Don Blackman and immediately purchased his 2 solo CDs. I would love to see him live! I love tight Funk music that includes jazz inflections
Don Blackman is my father! No, my real father. I've listened to funk all my life with him around. This is one my favorite songs off the blackman album! Go Dad!
Who is the female singer on this song.. I always thought it was chaka. lol

Don had not only do the best Funk album, but he's also a wonderfull guy,so nice & with so much humor.
He is a great composer, keyboards player, and singer...I saw Don in Concert to the Jazz Cafe,&
