All I can say is.. it needs a lot of practice. Practice makes perfect I guess. I did my Bharatanatyam Arangetram in August 2010, taught classes, and performances around the country (U.S) with Natya Dance Theatre, so I know very well when I say it needs a lot of work. You are still young so you have a long way to mature and grow into a great dancer :) Good luck!
I learned my varnam in 5 days and preformed that... just because you have only a week to learn an entire dance doesn't mean you can't perfect it. You have terrific choreography, but you should work on your timing by counting your beats and making sure everything fits into the time frames. Also, some of the steps don't fit well with the song.. like at 1.17. Anyways, beautiful color combination! Keep practicing :)

You look very young and if your start is this good then the rest will be flawless. Sometimes, when the music is calm, you go fast and vice versa, that´s the only thing I could possibly see as improvable. Otherwise, you´re so amazingly skilled! Keep it up little sister!

What kind of bharathis and Katak dancers have posted their comments here. I really am seeying the dieng interest in dance nowadays. This clearly shows somany steps from Odissi style of dancing. This is a great work by the dancer though. Truely commendable.

i think u need lot more practice and be more confident.and kind of change ur steps to,some of them r not clear and try to be more strong with ur hands and legs!! then u will be perfect,u did gud though.
as a bharati myself, i think your a good dancer, but you havent caputered the right movements yet....you flow too fast and your movements arent too stirdy and on foot..idk how to explain it.
its looks like kuchipudi but in a bharatanatyam costume! its not bad attempt but posture could be better...also you dont need to be a perfect dancer to be able to notice when someone else is doing it wrong or when it could be done better! however i do dance and i can honestly say that is not fully bharatanatyam! good attempt thouch either way!:D

Who are you to say a dance is good or bad when you have nothing up of yourself dancing? You can't go around bashing other dances and have nothing to show for it.
This is not Bharat Natyam. It is Kuchipudi. She did follow the proper steps but she need to pay attention more into details and sharpness of the dance. She should practice front of the mirror to see if her alignment and bendings are correct.

The dance may not be of a super high standard, but it definitely isn't "crap". Have you considered the fact that she may still be a student and not an expert yet? Please learn to encourage people rather than being too judgmental.
