  • OMG, i have never felt sorrow for the victims of the 911 tradgegies until now, thank you Blue Man Group for giving me the world this tribute...

  • i wonder what they did with all those papers afterwards? :?

  • great show

  • 420 (@,@)y

  • I dont understand how anyone could dislike this video...

  • September 11 was just another day for me. It wasn't until several years later at work when I saw this video play that I cried. The music and imagery is raw and simple and brought forward emotions that news coverage simply could not evoke

  • 7 people were terrorists

  • 7 ppl were prolly in favor for the 9/11 attacks, how do u dislike this????

  • makes u wonder how they got there doesn't it

  • Mission accomplished. Rest in peace. God bless.

  • I heve never seen such an evocative use of the "Missing Man" formation before.

  • This is my favorite mix of this piece. Why?

    1. Reverb

    2. Live is always better (in this case)

  • yhis song always broke my heart, and until reading these comments I had no idea why, I didn't know it was for the victims of 911...yet I feel grief...strong music here...captured pain...

  • Memorial Day 2011...

This one always hit me hard....RIP, Paul, and RIP "329" (hope I got the number right...)

Thank you, soldiers....as much as a lot of us don't agree with the admin that sent you and its motives and all that, NOR with the "conspiracy theorists" (I threw one off my property for saying 9/11 never happened...after offering him the phone to talk to the sister of one who died at Cantor-Fitzgerald).

We appreciate all you do. God bless and protect every one of you....

  • je ne m'en lasse pas magnifique

  • 7 people are not blue

  • Wait i know im stupid but this song is for the people who died at 9/11? Rest in Peace for those people :'(

  • may they rest in peace.

  • Not normally one to comment on stuff on here - but I choked a bit there, the silence of the crowd, considering there were thousands there - respects paid well - the change in tempo - there was no larking it was seriously a totally respectfully played and received masterpiece - and the last BM playing at the end was eerie - made me shiver. Many respects from across the pond, friends - Never Forget!!

  • amazing and i love @Thek213 's comment. that makes it feel ghostly. eerie almost. a beautiful ghostly feeling

  • @Blahdiness I thought of the comment @Thek213 it made me cry :')

  • ...

  • I can't believe they only did the first half of this song! The second half is AMAZING!

  • @scryedzxp Ye ? can you give me a link?

  • Hello, I´m from portugal and I saw this for the first time last year and this song for me means a lot. I remember evrytime the people that passed for the eternal life and I congratulate BLUE MAN GROUP for a remember like this.

Life goes on every day, and We have to Believe Him. He knows that we go there one day.

Live the moment bacause you don´t kno nothing about tomorrow aven thouth if there will be tomorrow.

  • what a powerful song and video montage

  • Didn't know Osama had internet in those caves, but he disliked this video 6 times

  • @dagriton123 forget osama,stupid

  • Imagine all the people....

  • my gpas cosin died in 911

  • Today, 9/11/2010, Never Forget. What a surprise and class act out of the entertainment industry.

    Thank you, Blue Man Group.

  • I always get very emotional when i hear this song or watch the video. I saw them in Vegas and they performed this. An amazing experience I will never forget...just like 9/11.

  • para hacer uno de esos instrumentos para hacer sonatas bien cabronas pero para hacer lasd medidas de los tonos medidas de los tubos es lo difizil pero te salen unas melodias como esta

  • Think of all the justified wars: The revolution, the civil war, both world wars, and many others. They were all necessary to secure peace, but they are at once terrible and beautiful. "And so it is when good confronts evil, there must be suffering."

Each of those lightly falling papers is a human life taken unjustly, and we must not forget them. This song exists to remind us. May we never slip into apathy or complacency again, and may we always remain vigilant against the enemies of freedom.

  • @Zethys Well said, I couldnt say it any better.

  • Not to swell you up or anything but, wow! You've discovered something Shakespeare, Marcel Marceau and Charley Chaplin had. The ability to express what the audience feels. Joy, curiosity, awkwardness, laughter, pain even grief without showing it on your faces.

"Exhibit 13" though simple and subdued is greatly profound, deeply touching and soul griping.

    I won't sleep well tonight.

  • I'm speechless ....

  • Tears me apart. Every single time.

  • @ForbiddenMelody same

  • I don't know what's this feeling. I think it's between positive and negative...But I'm sure after listening this music and watching this video, whatever it is...it touched me really deeply. I remain perplexed.

  • NFNF

  • Although they never play it live (anylonger) it´s still my absolute favourite BMG song.....

  • Iamgine slowly closing your eyes sarting to see a white light and in distance a dogs bark.you feel like you you want to cry but feel joy when all of a sudden a man in white reachs for your hand and grabs it tight. After that all you can feel is peace and happiness as you finally rest in peace in heaven as you line up with the good people who died in 911 holding hands.may you rest in peace dear sprits.

  • @GunBlazinGirl that's a Beautiful thing you said it made me almost cry....

  • Incredible.

  • i read something robbie wrote, and i... i started crying, when i heard this music and remembered it.

    gaarasbear (03:09:56 PM): o.o hm..

lanaleexdevilish (03:12:28 PM): "Imagine... being trapped in a space the size of an office desk, trapped underground bye houndreds of thousands of tons of molten metal, scorched cement, melted glass, and smoldering desk, paper, and people.... imagine, being trapped there for a week .. (next comment has rest)

  • before a single shaft of light filtered down to you, and a dog's barking signalling they found you... And all the world's modern marvels, cranes, trucks, lifts, there in all their majesty, pulling this prison off you, and a single hand of a single man, reaching down, taking your arm and pulling you into light. A caring hand of a man who came from hawai to help you, a man of infinite bravery... Imagine this, with me, and all those who lived through this... And TRY and tell me we are all evil.

  • oh by the this song was made for the people died in 911.those papers fly out world trade center

  • Does anybody know what the instrument the guy is playing, it's a very odd sound. you can see it pretty well at 1:40

  • @kecsmc looks like a base guitar of some sort..

  • its a chapman stick,

  • thank you

  • @caitlyn5993 ahhh yeahhhh

  • @Ebon..Schwachmaat

  • this song is absolutely amazing, this is going to be our 2nd song for winter percussion

  • I'm sure, that they did this first with instruments, and turned those notes for pipes. Actually I don't know how they do them songs, but this is so much different, from bluemangroup.

  • its amazing how they can make something so beautiful out of pvc pipes.

  • That sound like sadness to me

  • That's because it is sadness, beyond comprehension... Consider what the entire concert was about: showing people for what they are. Then consider WHY this song was written.

  • I dont think the complex tour was about the truth. I think it was about whats inside, what we hide, and how we hide it. It's about that rythym in everyone, that same song that gets repressed and forgotten. It's a view into our inner selves, but not of what we really are.

  • It's an excellent song. And they played it well. But saddly, it's not the original 3

    3:11.

You can see blue paint on the shirt

And the face is more female-like

  • Simply imagine the feeling. You stare up at the two burning buildings, and you see papers falling everywhere. A drawing of a woman... a paper that says simply "Exhibit 13"... These things may not seem like important things to you now, but you just know that they were things held dear by someone out there, torn apart by two airliners... I can simply explain it as a "dark, alarming feeling."

  • You are so right!!! :'(

  • @Thek213 Can i get a salute for all who died in those two towers that day. As some people say, (We Will Bring Those To Justice Who Attacked Us.) I will always remember that day as like it was yesterday. And can i get a salute to those 343 firefighters, policemen and policewomen who lost their lives making sure others were safe and out of the way when the twin towers fell on Sept. 11th. We should always thank firefighters, EMS, policemen, policewomen for what they do. HOOAH.

  • comment on my comment if you cry to :(

  • This song is so sad i cry:'(

  • i love the blue man group and this song made me cry :,(

  • o love the moment who the song turns into an other style at 2:11.

  • Now's not the time for politics, people, we have our views and that's fine. This song is a tribute to innocent people who lost their lives. Can we just leave it at that and enjoy this magical music?

  • Exhibit 13 Is a Blue Man Song with feeling... I Wish they stilled performed it on tour. I Heard they have played it in there off-Broadway theatres on the anniversary on 9/11.

  • is the story of this true? (be kind, im only 10)

  • i believe that yes, those are real documents that flew down from the burning towers of the World Trade Center.

  • Yes, exhibit thirteen exists and those are the papers gathered when the world trade center was attacked.

  • This song is insane on shrooms.

I wish they had more stuff on CD.

  • It's awesome they can evoke that feeling using just PVC pipes. I truly love this song.

  • Best song ever. Thank you, Blue Man Group.

  • Comment removed

  • I also wonder if those pipes really must be coiled and so hugelike that.

  • yes the length equates to the pitch, originally they used straight lengths but found them unwieldy.

  • The only songs I know by this group that dont have singing in it are DrumBone, Above, and Exhibit 13. does anybody know any other songs by this group with no singing?

  • all but 3 on the complex rock tour CD

  • Search for "Rods And Cones"

    You won't be dissapointed

  • they have an entire cd with no lyrics on it called "Audio"

  • Piano Smasher is another one with no singing, as well as Time To Start and Your Attention Please

  • Actually this video though I'm proud to be a headbanger "talks" to my heart! I wouldn't say that this music is electronic cuz it would go against my my ego. I say it's rock and it rocks becouse rock isn't just about guitars and drumms and screaming. It's about following a way of living that only few people can keep it till the end of their lives...

  • Amen my friend, Amen

  • I fell in love with percussive electronic music after I saw their show in vegas. I have 2 of their albums and I really like their music. Does anyone know any artists that play similar style of percussion?

  • simple amazing i love this song!!!

  • god what an awesome song *5*

  • fark talk about a song that gets your hairs standing on end....truely amazing live performance.

  • u effing people who are trashing this song, u are spoiled rotten, ungrateful to the many losts souls that helped make this country great. Although it is a tribute to 911, lets not forget those who fought for this country. My brother in the Vietnam war and my father in the Korean war. Even though I am of Mexican decent, 2nd general American, I would have no problem standing against any other country who would dare. Wholeheartedly.

  • your country is welthy not great. greatnes (at lest for me) is related to a lot of things no only power

  • Arg, you're entitled to your view, but in my view compared to other countries, the U.S. is great in a lot different ways in addition to wealth. But my point was to show how we take our freedom for granted in the U.S., our freedomwhich is part of what makes this country great

  • Patriotism is an admirable trait, but you need to know what you're fighting for. What's the difference between a soldier and a missile? The missile kills more people before it wears out its usefulness to the Government.

  • Wauww!! I´m in love with this song!!<33

  • the fist time i saw this it broutgh tears to my eyes,,,mostly the music but the video speaks well too.

  • The context really seems to be what makes this piece stand out. The music itself does not speak directly to any tragedy, but the video clip points to some form of destruction. It's message is universal, not necessarily pointing to 9/11 on its own. The music itself is quite boring, but it allows space for the video clip, making the whole experience universally satisfying. Well done!

  • What are you talking about? the music is great

  • I'm not saying otherwise. But I wouldn't enjoy it as much were it a stand-alone piece. The collaboration with the video clip is really what makes this piece work. Plus, it's a live performance, with Blue Man Group no less!

  • After looking at the maps and doing the math I do think that the papers they show are from 9-11. I had thought on first sight of the foreign papers that perhaps they were from the Hindenburg but that was to far away from Carroll Gardens neighborhood. You make a good point though the song doesn't mark just one tragedy but many in one strong strike. This is a very striking song and for those that put any negative comments they are just trying to get attention.

  • i need this track on mp3 does anyone have it?please help...i love this song its so beautifull

  • ABSOLUTAMENTE, INACREDITAVEL...

  • they are soo cool, cuz there so different from everybody else

  • wow, this sounds really good. It's different, very cool

  • It just goes to show you how life can turn suddenly violent. In All My 28 years I never seen This Comeing. We Always Felt Safe. We Never This Comeing. Now We Are Left To Wonder.Wonder Just How Safe We Really Are Now. May Our Family Whom Lost There Lives Be Never Forgotten. May We Always Keep Them In Our Prayers & Memorys. Thanks Blue Man Group For Such A Great Video to Remember Those Whom Lost There Lives To Such A Great Evil & Tragedy.

  • where might i find the audio for this?

  • on the album? Buy the album, well worth it! The complex

  • great album i agree

  • Exhibit 13 is NOT on any album.

  • It was on the one I got on iTunes. And the one my friend got from the store...

  • i have it on the dvd for the complex

  • It's on the CD as well.

  • Exhibit 13 is on the complex album

i had to download it thru torrent

  • It's the last track on THE COMPLEX

  • i tunes

  • @LDC454 'The Complex'

  • ok guys, please dont remember that about 100,000 people for birmania died a couple of days ago.

and 200,000 in asia cause of the tsunami.

every single death is important, i dont deny people who die of terrorism, of people stupidity, lets think of all the people who suffer in the world, we should dedicate this song to all of them, and lets all enjoy life cause we are so fucking lucky!

  • Hypnotic song, deeply stirring, piercing to the darkest crevice in one's heart. Tribute to 911, guess it could bea tribute to all those who lost their innocent lives in other atrocities in the world at other times.

Wow!!! Every time I hear that song it really moves me with tears and a lump in my throat. Awesome Song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • just shut up and enjoy the video...sheeesh

  • lol. comments are for AFTER the video dude. read the comments AFTER the video xD

  • i still wish that this was in the megastar 2.1 show! it's such a great song.

  • pretty gud. :)

  • A breathtaking tribute. They truly captured the heart of a great loss. Even without watching the video, it can evoke a sadness in the listener. Not a grief... but a soft sort of reflection and respect for the lost ones.

  • Love Blue mazn group going to see them in a month!!!!

  • I didn't realize the army/navy could physically prevent a plane from crashing into a building... The only thing you can do is kill more innocent people in an attempt to "get back" at "them."

Way to contribute to a peaceful world.

Anyway, the Blue Man Group is simply amazing.

  • Actually, I have dual nationality. I was living in New York on September 11, 2001 thank you very much. My sister was in Manhattan that day, thanfully nothing happened to her, however, pointing fingers and dropping bombs all over the Middle East was not the smartest thing to do.

  • I remember when I was 18....I thought I knew everything too. You didn't answer my question....how did you feel on those days? Train system in Spain bombed.....Twin towers in America bombed......both of your countries attacked by the same group......and your feelings about this are????

I do however agree that Blue Man Group is amazing. That much we have in common.

  • And what the Americans have done in Iraq?

Children, women, elderly and sick people killed. Tens of thousands of Iraqis to death, but max. 500 Americans this was not a war that was a massacre, a massive terrorist attack is not supported by a small terrorist group and wheezing but by a whole country.

And Iraq has not attacked you, did you troztdem this country overrun.

American terror led by G. W. Bush

  • It certainly is easy to pass judgement from your keyboard.

You very obviously don't have the slightest clue in regards to your facts. Please do not attack me or my Country unless you know what you are talking about.

I openly invite you to debate this in private.

  • There is no point discussing loss of any amount of life by another human's hand. It's murder... in any form. Whether it's a soldier killing a soldier, a terrorist killing an innocent, or a dictator killing a citizen; There is no justifying murder for any cause. Let's all play chess to solve our problems.

  • i agree!

  • And this is why I play video games, seriously It really would be no different if we played chess or VG's instead killing each other, Team America won seven rounds of Team Slayer against Team Alqeada's (don't remember how to spell it) measley three, Team America wins as does Team Iraq

  • ...What the fuck are you talking about? Just shut up and if you don't like this thought-provoking.. emotion tribute to what happened on that fateful day, where people were LOST for god's sake, then PLEASE shut up AND CLICK THE RED X AT THE TOP RIGHT!

    Good god, so fucking ungrateful!

  • Actually Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 and Hussein was a sworn enemy of Al Queda.

  • Why would you ever throw a disaster in someone's face? Whether it is in the US or Spain or Iraq, a disaster is a disaster and a tragedy is a tragedy and that's all that needs to be said. Be ashamed of yourself for smutting this beautiful tribute with your hateful words.

  • v(^.^)v

  • v---Yup---v. I have to agree. Simply incredible...

  • ..... no words can describe talent like this.. its musically genius...

  • Blue Man Group "How to be a Megastar" Sunday Night 6:30 on HD Net

  • The first time i hear this song and i later saw it live. i cried. Never forget!!! even though i think some people forgot how they felt that day. 9-11 thats why i joined the army!
