  • Pity with what's happened to the Australian Democrats. That's what happens when a minor party fights with itself.

  • I think the condition of politics in Australia is pretty sad. Register Libertarian. Do what you can to bring free-markets and small governments to your country.

  • Dinosaurs, Meg Lees sold out to the Fiberals and they are now both history, Aussies won't tolerate 2 faced drongos, Lees should have indicated she was a Fiberal all along, good riddance to the low lifes. Note: The GST is good for the country, I was sick of paying 22% wholesale tax every month for years, the retailers who took cash paid zilch, that was bullshite.

  • It would have been better and funnier if the coffe had spilt on her

  • LOL "LetumAngelus", Australia's third biggest party aye...man I used to think that state Liberals were the most pathetic political life form, I guess I was wrong. As much as I hate the greens and the coalition, it's quite clear that the democrats take that particular honour. Third biggest party with no seats in the upper or lower house *clap clap* going well guys, keep up the good work LOL. Tossers.

  • Sad, Meg Lees ruined everything for the Dems.

  • A wonderful short video with a serious message. Dally Messenger

  • Australian Democrats...... are they going to get your vote? This is their last chance for survival. They stuffed it up when Cheryl Kernot went Labor.

  • There's an Australian Democrats party now?

I thought I knew a bit about politics, but I guess I was wrong

  • LOL... yeah they've been around for thirty years now and are Australia's third largest political party. I think you may know less about politics than you realise :)

  • They are political history now!!!!!!

  • I understand it is up to the membership to decide that. One Nation still keeps on running in elections and has done so without Parliamentry support for a while now. (Did I just compare Democrats to One Nation... doh!). When the Greens stuff up or the Unions don't need them any more to prop up Labors vote, I reckon the Democrats will be there to pick up the peices.

  • hahahahhahahhh funny ?WTF

  • Are you talking about the GST that Keating tried to implement under the guise of a Consumption Tax. The GST was inevetable and I can not be thankful enough that the Democrats were there to make it more affordable by removing it from the most needed consumables.

The GST is why the Howard Government started to re-fund roads, health and community services again. We are over the GST scare campaign and no Australian is any worse off because of it. Time to build a bridge visitor3107!

  • consumption tax proposed by Keating? - dont remember that.

A GST is a tax on the poor - luxury cars and TV's got cheaper while we pay extra on utility bills, text books, and any service you might wish to engage in (trades men, machanics and the guy who mows your granma's lawn)

Australian are amongst the most heavily taxed in the OECD nations - its no great tribute to the Howard Gov for any improvement in public facilities - they could of done much more.

  • The democrats represtented a Social Justice party for me - the GST was never an inevitability and it remains a great betrayal of all i believed in.

Based on election results - i am not the only one. RIP Democrats.

  • sorry guys

used to vote for you religiously until you rolled on the GST

    not forgotten, or forgiven

  • Who are these guys? Where the hell have they been? Havent heard a peep out of them for years.....

  • It's refreshing to see there is a nice and funny way of getting across a serious message.

Good on you Democrats -You have got my vote to Bring Back Balance in the Senate.

I wish my House of Reps decision was as easy!

  • MarlorLPE, who does the legislative work that MPs are paid for? Look at "we've been a little busy" video, and you'll see that it's still the Dems. FairGO, which tracks politician responsiveness to ordinary people's requests has branded Lyn Allison as far and away the most responsive Senator in Australia.

  • Ah, the Democrats. I remember them.

They were an Australian political party back before the Greens became the third force in Australian politics, weren't they?

  • The Greens will never be anything close to the Democrats, mate.

  • They have more seats then the democrats after this election

  • Really?

How many Senators will the Democrats have after July 1?

  • Vote 1 Dems!

  • hahaha very funny...what a joke... I think I get it.

  • hahaha so funny! The boxes fell off the table! hahahaha I get it! Bring back balance. hahahaha
