And if you got rid of the fractional reserve banking then the gold standard has no real downsides other than scarcity(but there is so much more gold that has been mined now that scarcity should not be an issue). Hell, most experts are saying Gold is becoming more abundant than silver. Ron has always said our gold standard has never been a true gold standard. And he's right. Fractional reserve manipulation saw to that.
