  • Its disturbing to know that that man is Mr.Olivander in the Harry Potter trilogy.....

  • Veronica Cartwright deserves some type of an Oscar for that one 3 second response to the chest explosion. "ohhhhh god". I heard years later that none of the actors beside John Hurt really knew what was going to happen. Classic.

  • That's how I feel after eating at my mother-in-laws house for dinner. Her teeth are kind of pointy too.

  • John Hurt NOOOO!!! DX.. its been sooo long since ive seen alien.. and read the book.. need to do that again... love this scene...

  • When i see that it givies me a wierd feeling

  • I read in a book they didn't know that this would happen and a lady passed out :P

  • radio lab ftw

  • This scene is so effective on so many levels. I love how the people pause when they first see the blood on his chest. Same reaction of the audience in 1979, no doubt. I think this is scarier than any of the body-horror of David Cronenberg films, hands-down.

  • Anyone else notice that he doesn't die until the alien pierces his shirt?

  • TheLibRider i thought it was pretty funny.

  • when stupid girls i know announce to facebook that they're preggo, i always post this on their wall. hahaha horrible i know.

  • 'don't touch it'

    baaaad idea

  • ash looks knowingly at kane during this scene. of course they had to have had a previous encounter with these creatures before "Alien" and that's where, hopefully, "Prometheus" will take us. Ian Holm is a perfect actor; i haven't seen him in a bad film.

  • poor baby, it's going to be so hungry.

  • The whole scene was perfect. The screams, the reactions, Ash's reaction, it all went together so great.

  • THE MIRACLE OF BIRTH!

    THE MIRACLE OF LIFE!

    PRAISE THE LORD!

  • I feel like that after a bad curry, albeit a little further down the gastric tract.

  • Legendary Scene,

  • the awkward moment when.....

  • Comment removed

  • ...and then mythbuster came and destroyed it all...

  • The funny thing is that the rest of the cast had no idea that a monster would pop out because the director wanted to capture their natural reactions.

  • @PsychotronicWar Actually, they knew it would pop out, but rather, he hadn't told them there would be blood coming out everywhere, that's why they looked shocked when the blood first comes and then the women in the back screams when the thing bursts out. She went into hysteria, however most of this was cut from the scene following editing. There is an extended scene (badly cut though) where you can see and hear her reaction more.

  • Ahahahah it's kinda cute!! I mean, when he comes out and he's like "rooar roaar" and then wuuum there he goes! ahahah

  • Hello my baby!!! Hello my honey!!! Baby my hearts on fiiiiire!!!!

  • 1:25 Screw you! I'm out'a here!

  • If only they knew what that thing would grow into they wouldnt let it go.

  • Fuck this made me seriously want to puke when i first saw it. And ive seen other horror movies before but this...

  • 1:10 mamma? dadda?

  • THAT'S WHY I DON'T EAT PORK NO MORE! (LOL)

  • Awww! He's cute! And freaky looking!

  • must of been one heck of a stomach ache

  • When i am going to be a teacher the first thing i am going to do is give my students sexual education.

-Remember kids always check your condom before making out-

    Student: Whats making out??

-Shut up, sometimes when your condom is too slipery, dangerous virusses

    can give you awfull disease.

    Student: Whats a condom??

-Shut up, now i am going to show you a vid- 0:00 / 1:34

    Students: ' ere..aa...aa..... .. ... ..'

    - See kids, this is what happens if you dont have safe sex-

  • That scared the shit out of me.

  • High-octane nightmare fuel.

  • guy-jesus christ I never knew guys could experience birth

    Alien-Oh hey!!!

    other guy-Dont touch it... It's a boy.

    so thats the plot line.

  • and this is what is going to happen in stupid twilight with bella and her baby thing

  • @KRRREN LOL

  • @KRRREN Except that Kane died when the alien burst out of his chest. I don't think we're lucky enough for Bella to die. What with that idiot Edward intervening.

  • @KRRREN OMG that's exactly what I was gonna say! XD Did you notice how both Renesmee and the Xenomorph grow at incredibly fast speeds and barely need to be parented?

  • Too bad they don't make sci fi horror like this anymore

  • saw this in the theater with my parents when i was like 11. though i was going to vomit under the seat! pretty graphic when you are only 11.

  • @enisorian hahaha good one!

  • what food are they serving on that ship?

  • watch indy mogul stomach burst to see how they did it

  • i watched a behind the scenes on this and they said when the alien pops out everyones reaction was real cuz the producer and the director never told them it was guuna happen to get good footage

  • Check please!

  • Anyone who understands French should watch the Mozinor parody . Fuckin' hilarious !

  • The dangers of heart burn! this has been a psa stay in school kids and vote republican or die by the hands of a baby alien parisite!

  • Ash: Don't Touch It!

    MY PRECIOUS!!!!!!!

  • 1:08 "AH MAH GAD"

  • Hey look, its bilbo baggins!

  • Lol at 1:15 WAZZZZUUUUUUUP

  • we watched this movie in school. in horror class. a class dedicated to watching horror movies to study their effect on american culture. i fucking love my school <3

  • It's been 30 years, and that's still the most fucked up scene in movie history!.. Ridley Scott is a genius..

  • that little baby alien´s roar is pretty funny :-D

  • @koalajones88 Oh, okay. Haha. Hurt's a pretty skilled character actor. Most actors doing this scene would have seemed a little too relaxed...

  • @koalajones88 What, are you kidding me? He was actually pretty convincing. I would imagine it would feel good to have some thing crawling around in his intestines & trying to push themselves out...

  • My mom nearly aborted me when she saw this scene ;_;

  • gratz its an boy!

  • Cute.

  • I always knew Bilbo was a dick.

  • That's why you don't eat McDonalds. LOL.

  • Grooooooss. XD

  • Apparently in this scene, Ridley Scott had the actors unexpectedly showered with real entrails from a nearby butcher so their screams would be genuine. 0_o

  • i don't know why but i just really love the way he screams at 0:39

  • CHECK PLEASE

  • is it true they didnt tell the actors about the chest burst, that he would be just having a fit?

  • 1:14 hes like: wat up

  • Dorm food will do that to 'ya.

  • @Mr4bane cool story bro

  • Today I got gastroscopy; I felt it in such a way as if something was crawling in my stomach - it felt like I was having there the alien XD

  • And the Chestburster then puts a hat on and starts singing like Michigan J. Frog...

  • lol i love how it slides away lol.

  • after 30 years this is still a very scary film

  • how cute :D

  • It's only a flesh wound.

  • Don't worry with a little bit of robitussin he will be back to normal?

  • GET THIS GUY SOME PEPTO-BIZMO!!!!!!!

  • interesting fact, when this shot was filmed the director didn't tell any of the other cast members what was going to happen so they could get the real expressions and actions from them. Which they did, hence why it looks so realistic. The cast all thought he was having an actual seizure during a routine movie scene.

  • @793041002 ...Not quite. What they didn't tell the cast was what the creature was going to look like in its final form, and that the "birth" would be capped with tiny explosive pellets and high pressure air jets of blood. One of which was pointed right at Veronica Cartwright (Lambert), hence her horrified screaming and "Oh God!" Because she actually was so shocked to get showered in blood.

  • Archemeaies! Get out of zere!

  • @DaOneWhoRulz

    looool!

  • @DaOneWhoRulz HAHAhahaa lol

  • someone once said that this scene is the equivalent of a male giving birth. that person was right.

  • 1:25 how does it make it's way across the table. not like it has legs yet. it doesn't really slither. so how did it move even a foot

  • @port753 It "swims" across the table :)

  • Percy Edwards has impressive vocals in this scene he provided the alien's sound effects in this movie.

  • next time, beat the living shit out of the fucking thing before it runs away and problem solved.

  • I Love This Scene So Much, It's One Of My Favourite Scenes From Any Movie

  • 100 000views

  • God, if they let that dude kill it right then and there, they wouldn't all be dead!!

  • im i the only one that thinks the chestbursters are kinda cute?

  • @Soprano12100 Nah I think so too. I even have this crazy idea of Kane somehow surviving it, and raising the chestburster as a baby. Strange, I know.

  • im i the only one that thinks the chestbursters are kinda cute

  • That has got 2 b the most ferocious damn tapeworm I've ever seen

  • ouch

  • me and my mate watched this when we were about 10

we absolutely pissed ourselves laughin when the alien scuttled off the table

  • i just ate noodles dammit!

  • Keep pressing 9, it looks so fucking funny, omg!

  • For a second I thought the chestburster ran on wheels LOL

Man, this looks so realistic it puts overused CGI to shame.

  • @OldSkoolgamerz Indeed, I can't stop laughing either, when I watch it, it really looks funny. But good made for a 1979 movie though.

  • Ridley Scott didn't tell anyone but John Hurt (obviously) what was going to happen in this scene. The reactions you are seeing are about 80% realistic and 20% oh shit I'm actually supposed to be acting. That is brilliant filmmaking at its finest.

  • i thought the title said "Chestburger scene"

  • Somfin he eat

  • Also, why cant chestbursting scenes be like this one? Its more freaky looking and more real and graphic.. Today, its all computerized, and it just looks dumb.. Old movies are classics and nothing can beat them!

  • Im not sure if this is tru or not, but I heard that the cast you see surrounding him, they knew about the chestburster, they just did not know about the blood, or how graphiic it would be. All their facial expressions you see are very much real. Haha. I probably wouldve been freakout as well!

  • its a baby alien! Look, It wants its mama

  • This is a stupid question, but what does putting the spoon in his mouth do?

  • @1thq keep him from biting through his tounge

  • @1thq They thought he was having a seizure at first...so they put something in his mouth to keep him from biting down on his tongue. Good thing it was just an alien that popped out of his stomach...cause seizures SUCK!!

  • My bf gave me this movie to watch yesterday since I've never seen it in full, but have seen Alien vs. Predator.

I gotta admit I've always loved this scene. X3 Very well done.

  • this is the most disgusting thing i've ever seen. really, this takes the cake.

  • congratulations it's a boy!

  • The reason they all genuinely scared is that Ridley Scot never told them what was going to happen, the script just said "It emerges". The lady who played Lamburt went into her dressing room after this and wouldn't let anyone near her.

    Very effective.

  • This video would be a perfect anti-homosexual video. "If you suck dick, this is what will happen to you!"

  • @VindictiveShadowWolf discrimination?

  • @VindictiveShadowWolf wow, you're a terrible human being.

  • @KHowlett1981 It's a joke..I have nothing against gays..Nobody on here has a sense of humor.

  • @VindictiveShadowWolf Holy jeez, you're right! Sorry I flipped out, lol

  • man I bet this shit was even crazier when it first came out

  • birth is beautiful.

  • May i be excused from the table?

  • @TheJawsFan24 hahahahaa, laughed hard at this.

  • Did he Survive?... :D

  • Damn that alien needs to see a dentist! His teeth where crooked

  • can i get some opinions, how much pain do you think he was in?

  • i love on how spaceballs made fun of tht like if u agree

  • Somebody please answers this, how painful do you think that was? What kind of pain did he feel?

  • @ACMilanista24 i wouldnt even wanna think about that

  • @ACMilanista24

Well, getting shot in the stomach is painful enough. Imagine some thing coming to life inside you and eating its way through your cheast, finally breaking through your rib cage.

I'd say on a pain scale of 1 to 10. I'd say 9. Why 9? Well, fortunately death comes in seconds.

Btw, some insect in the Amazon lies its eggs inside some other insect. As the eggs hatch, the offspring comes out through the body of the poor host insect.

  • I'm gonna have nightmares nnnnoooowwww......

  • How the HELL does it run off HOVERING through the table?! XD

  • @imustbeXana MAGIC.

  • Alien: Mommy?

  • Everything is good until it runs across the table, it looks like it's on wheels

  • im sure when it first came out it looked pretty real lol I still think it looks real Haha

  • congratulations...you guys have become parents!

  • This is the reason why you shouldn't eat at a restraunt that Gordon Ramsey hasn't saved yet.....talk about a kitchen nightmare!

  • 1:26

    "Alien out, bitches!"

  • Ever since I first saw this when I was a little girl, I've been smitten with this little guy. Mum told me about this scene, thus I watched with rapt anticipation. But as soon as this li'l baby popped out and made that adorable little sound, I squee'd. I've been squeeing ever since. <3 THAT NOISE. I'm getting a chestburster plushie soon. BEST. PURCHASE. EVER.

  • @RaWrZzZz i know the plushie you're talking about i want one as well as the facehugger plushie. do you have any idea how much fun you can have with those two plushies alone?

  • @DevilMayCry3162000 See...I don't want the facehugger one. Facehuggers have always kind of given me the wiggens. To spidery. *shudder* I'm a massive arachnophobe. The chestburster is so cuuuuuuuuuuuuute.

  • @RaWrZzZz its cool and weird at the same time how somethign so vicious could be made into an adorable plush toy

  • I had one of those days. But it came out of the rear end.

  • @1994human hehe tucker

  • @1994human , Damn! LOL!

  • this is the only chestburster scene in the whole alien series that the human's actions when getting "burst" look realistic

  • @Darren7713 This could be because the actors weren't expecting it. Their reaction is very much real :D

  • i love how the alien looks around at everyone like HEY GUYSSSS

  • Epic!

  • the noise it makes is hilarious

  • the head reminds me of a space pirate from metroid (there is a rumour that the game was inspired by the film)

  • satellite, break of dawn.

    Back to back, oh yeah.

  • I dont know why, but I freakin laugh from 1:07 to end everytime^^

    It's fucking hilarious :DD

  • Thats the last time I'll eat pork medallion.........burp..

  • Always makes me shit myself, great film, iconic scene

  • This is still one of the creepiest things ever caught on film. A brilliant, gut-wrenching (ahem!) scene.

  • Dawww'h it's such a cute baby!

  • I do love how this was their actual reaction to the scene. They had no idea what was to happen. Awesome.

  • 1:26-1:28 Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal.

  • John Hurt.... Classic scene Parodied so many times.

  • Awww his first steps
