I just opened it up, removed the drive, changed the IDE cable for another one, then just rerouted the drive's power and data cables outside... to a spare Lite-on DVD drive. It worked. But it depends on the model, or so I've heard. :)
I'm proud to say this was the first video game I ever played. I was 6 or 7, and it took me weeks before I could beat Raiden... I don't think I beat Geese until I played it much later in life. :D
i like this one better then all the rest of the fatal furys because the moves dont require you to hold back and down for a moment then let go and press strong punch or somthing like that.
@Foxhack THE mind-blower in this category is definitely Harumi Ikoma. King, Blue Mary, Charlotte, Nakoruru, a bunch of KOF announcers, she's got everything. (She even seems to get better with age; she was near her forties when she voiced the XII announcer.) Now if only her English wasn't so mangled...
(Fun fact: Ryo and King are love interests whereas Charlotte has had a one-sided infatuation with Haohmaru.)
Tung Fu Rue's Theme is my favorite theme in Fatal Fury.I usually listen to it when I workout. But be honest I prefer the original one,not this horrible remake in your game .= =
i appreciate that you gave the computer a small chance to do its stuff so we can have but a brief glimpse of some of the things the opponents can do, and i really hate when videos just breeze right through them with cheesing
Actually, Capcom Vs SNK has tons of music from several NeoGeo games, as well as Capcom games. I know they're available in the Dreamcast port, but I haven't bothered to unlock them.
I know they have a whole bunch of old school Geo songs on CVS but I have never heard this one outside of CVS 1, so I was really exited to know where it came from.. I would say it's my favorite stage in CVS 1.
I too like Tung Fu Rue's stage song. Though the version I grew up hearing was very different - must be the SNES/Genesis version I have. Either way, nothing beats the original!
Also, the select player screen is quite catchy too!

Is there a rip of this version's soundtrack? It's different from the original Neo Geo OST releases.
Tessou 8 months ago
@Tessou I'm sure there's one out there. Who knows where, though.
Foxhack 8 months ago
@Foxhack Yeah, turns out it's just the ARRANGE version of the soundtrack.
Tessou 7 months ago
@Tessou Wow, really? I didn't know there was an Arrange soundtrack release for Fatal Fury 1!
*checks VGMdb*
Wait, you mean this music is from Garou Densetsu Image Album? o_O

Michael Max looks a kinda like Balrog....hmmmmmmmmmm

@MrSnoopyMouse Generic black boxers look a lot alike. :P
Foxhack 1 year ago
Anybody realized Michael Max has the same actor as Axel Hawk from Fatal Fury 2.
dryzen 1 year ago
@dryzen A lot of SNK games shared the same cast of actors.
I'm still baffled by the fact that Haohmaru, Ryo Sakazaki and Goro Daimon ARE PLAYED BY THE SAME GUY.
Foxhack 1 year ago
@Foxhack
But they all sound so different.
dryzen 1 year ago
@dryzen You should see Monster Maezuka's works... Benimaru, Ralf, Choi Bounge, Mudman, and a few others. Now that's some good acting.

@Lioyd1rving Oh I'm well aware of Ryo and King...
There's a reason why my main team in every KOF game has always involved the Kyokugen characters. ;)

@Foxhack In addition to the awesome movesets? :p

The thing I don't understand is where did this music come from. As far as I know, the NeoGeo CD version of the game used the original soundtrack...
