  • THE 11 PEOPLE THAT DISLIKED THIS IS CRAZY!!!!

  • If it wasn't for Sirius/XM the Groove, I would not these songs on ipod. To many that is Sirius/XM channel 50(Formerly XM Channel 64).

  • Jazz date , perth amboy nj, 1982 was the spot..

  • The lyrics are so deep. Wish TVOne would do a show on what happened to him.

  • @1869AZIZ I agree. Junior would be a great story for Unsung.

  • Great voice....thanks for posting....this is good music...

  • I heard this song for the first time about a month ago. I love it, Im always playing it. I know he sang mama use to say, but I dont recall hearing this song in the 80, either way its the shit!!

  • i like the brand nubian BEAT better... would be nice to hear a mix using the newer beat with the older junior singing

  • u gotta admit....he looks like bill cosby, lol.. : )

  • voz afinada, voz negra preciosa, artista a gente reconhece pelos seus talentos maravilhosos.

  • Man Use To Blast This In a Ghetto Blaster - South Chicago -Stoney Park

  • feel good music..you don't have to say "Turn that mess off"!

  • Junior is still just as good today. Fantastic voice and should still be right up there. Still looks great and has never really aged. Junior my friend big love to u and ur lovely daughter x

  • WONDERFUL! Great discovery! Such a smooth vocal arrangement! It ALL works! Thanks @heyroz27 ! You rock!!

  • This guy was so fantastic; had great musicians who knew how to create a driving beat. I chair dance at work all morning and don't really care who sees. If they're not hearing what I'm hearing, they're really missing something.

  • OK, people. Something that you didn't know. Music like told a "STORY" about some type of relationship......but today's music DOES NOT tell nothing about anything has NO meaning and make NO sense. Today's music makes no sense has no meaning bunch of garbage. NO wonder relationships are so screwed up

  • Love this man and his music. Ahead of its time.

  • @mccarmb they make them like this, but you won't find it in the mainstream. you may have to go to the ends of the earth to find it, but it is still out there.

  • @ukendcx2000 The only modern artists in this league today, to name a few are Incognito, Carleen Anderson, Omar, Ed Motta, The Beauty Room, Quintessence, Drizabone, D'influence, Sharon Jones, Fried...no doubt there are a lot more but these are standout artists to my ears.

  • digital funk

  • Fine composition from the 80`s, the golden time of music!

  • love it!

  • They do makem like this. you just got to dig deep, go lookin for it

  • don't make em like this anymore...damn shame

  • The Groove Sirius XM channel 50 is the best for old school r&b. I listen to it online at work daily. Can't live without it.

  • @Qtpie1370 thanks

  • Channel 50 on what?

  • @dtviking Channel 50 on XM Radio/Satellite Radio. They changed the stations around a few months ago. When you mentioned the "Groove" were you talking about XM Radio? If not, my bad! lol

  • junior is one bad boy!!!!!

  • too bad the "Grove" station is gone.

  • @dtviking - The "Groove" station is still rocking, I listen to it everyday. It's channel 50.

  • Is he still makingmusic? if what is he calling himself nowadays? senior?

  • @RealMickyO

Well, last I saw him in was the Richard Blackwood remake of "Mama Used To Say". Richard is his nephew.

  • @RealMickyO lol. last record he put out was in 2005.

  • @MrCrazyh81 IDIOT

  • My mom use to love this song back in the day ! When music was music !

  • When I talk to people in my age group about music, we always end up saying where has all the good music gone. The answer is it hasn't gone anywhere as long as we keep remembering it!!! heyroz27 keep posting so we are sure not to forget!!!!!!!!!

  • @mrvintage414 Thank you! We can't forget the classic hits...

  • Comment removed

  • @mrvintage414 Hip-Hop and Pop hasn't completely blown real, good music out of the water yet.

  • The golden 80´s, music with power and soul!

  • I want a Junior album to drop right NOW in 2011. That voice is epic

  • WOW this is when music WAS MUSIC!!!!

  • Massive!!!

I have not enjoyed a dance cut more. The arrangement and tempo is rhythmically perfect. Excellent cut and good time in the world.

  • I was driving my 2009 Cadillac CTS last night and decided to turn on the XM radio the 'Groove' station and the Brothers Johnson "Strawberry letter 22" was jamming. I was "buggin". Then it went off. Then a low volume of this jam was phasing in. I was like "this is not what I think it is"....I almost lost control of the car on the Jersey icey streets. I pushed the Bose up louder than I have ever in a car. WOW....Yes!! I pulled over to seat dance. Got home and Googled it. Awesome.

  • @TheKenington I truly feel U!

  • @TheKenington

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME HEARING AND WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH I HAD TO FACEBOOK IT....

I AM 36 AND LIKE HECK YES THIS IS JAMMIN

  • I LOOOOOVVVEEE This SONG!!!!

  • I love this song!

  • One of my favorites

  • Junior was the man!!!! What the hell happened to him?

  • Slapper!!!

  • This tune was ahead of its time for standing against spousal abuse. Probably also explains why it wasn't a bigger hit...Junior was getting all up in the fellas business.

  • Now this is a Underated Jam

  • I remember this song, I was 14, and it was the summer, and used to jam to this.

Little did I know, but the lyrics to this song didn't paint such a pretty picture for whoever may have been going through this ordeal or anything close to it. Let's pray for victims of, or in this type of situation thats portrayed in this song. However on a better note, the lady thats portrayed in the song had enough sense to get the hell out of the situation didn't she!

    gotta love the instrumental version-LOL.

  • Man o man! To be 8 yrs old again, listening to this on the radio in the morning getting ready for school. Tom Joyner was on WJPC in Chicago, and Bob Wall was on WGCI. Happy happy times!

  • SLAMMING bass line. I could listen to just the instrumental track and be happy!

  • brand nubian - too late

  • Love the song, great beat... Listen to the lyrics closely domestic violence, she left... Good for her!

  • @277sherey Good observation.

  • I really liked this song, hard to believe it's only because of the tube i have heard it again, this was the follow up to Mama used to say, itself a classic, but this is one super song, brings back memories of a happier time..thank you for posting heyroz27

Happy we did not miss that bus. Keep rockin those oldies Eddie peace..1 love!

  • Banging bass line and hand claps make the opening of this jam the driving force of moving me to dip and shake from side to side with my fist closed and my bottom lip tucked in my mouth eyes closed while the grove causes my upper body to move in time with the music again no samples real talent from a real music maker. THANKS JUNIOR

  • Smooth.........mocha choco latte. I got to workout to this......Too Late Baby bye bye.

  • this man has a nice voice

  • Love this song! It Got less airplay than "mama used to say", but that's what makes a song a real hidden gem! Brings back memories of the early summer in 82 riding ithe NYC subways to Brooklyn on the D train to Coney and the A train To Rockaway Beach. Remember when you had those boom boxes playing on the subway platforms or the subway cars as you got closer to the last stop on the beach! Thanks for putting it here!

  • Excelente baixo, valeu Junior...

  • I like this version of Junior's Classic Too Late. Has that 80s flavor and original, not that crap they're selling on iTunes and Amazon. Buy the original Junior songs and not the heavy redid synthesized sound you get on Amazon or iTunes.

  • Junior was the start of the Black British invasion. Hearing him speak on Soul Train was my first time hearing one of us speaking with a british accent. I think it caught everyone in the audience off guard even Don chuckled. This was a bonified cut tho!

  • OMG I totally remember that! haha!

  • Who else is brittish? I know Slick Rick is

  • Quite a few. Loose Ends, Hi-Five, Terrence Trent D'Arby, Billy Ocean, Soul 2 Soul, I believe the group that made "It's just an illusion." I think they were called Imagination. Dude who sang "Return of the Mack." I'm bad at names excuse me. Anyone have any others to add please join the convo. And yes most are by way of the Islands but I still consider them part of the British invasion.
