Ok Mickey here's your chance. EAA 2011 is coming up in less than 2 weeks. Time to pack your bags and a guitar and head north my friend..I once again will be there this year working in Security for Honda..( who knew they built a snazzy little business class Jet). Anyway, hope to see you this year. hardhead9640@yahoo.com
hi mickey. thanks for the lessons. i have a very beginner question for you. i know the 3rd fret with the A and B pedals down is C. what is 3rd fret with B and C pedals down? thanks for any help.
HI Mickey,,i love your teaching. i am learning a lot from your vidios.i have a few vhs teaching tapes but yours is so much better..Thanks my friend .. James
I don't know if it's a good thing to try and learn the pedal steel at my age or not. It gets fusterating to watch you play so easly and I want to sooo bad but mine comes out mostly trash. But...all I've got is time. Maybe it will rub off.
X50, Im using a Sarno Revelation Preamp and 2 powered speakers from TC Furlong, and an MX400 elxicon processor....Thanks for tuning in and posting...Mickey
hello from new zealand, as a great listener and part learner,im just luvin this stuff, choice sound and palying, i hav an old 70s shobud pro 2 custom and a webb 614e amp, they sopund real nice , but allways wonderd what you guys use in your racks,, luv the playing mike,, thnx
Mickey: You're doing great with your teaching techniques; even an old cogger like me has learned some thing new with your videos.Keep up the great work..We appreciate it..Bernie
Highly modified Peavey Vegas, and basic Boss efeect...nothing really out of the ordinary. Most of the tone is definately the Mullen G2 guitar...thanks for the post...Mickey
Is the Vegas a 400? And is it the factory mod kit? I am thinking of modding either my Session 500 or my Vegas 400. It would be awhile before I could get a Mullen although I live in Colorado. Regards Dale
Buena, The first mod kit I was aware of was the LeMay mod. Peavey eventually copied it. There is another mod available as well from a forum member named Ken Fox. The cost for the mod plus shipping is around 300.00...But well worth it. As for modding the 500...well...do you really want to carry that heavy thing around?..The nashville is the same amp as the Vegas, only with 1 channel...
Singlpilot, thanks for your time with these videos. As a beginner, this is the best, most convenient bundle of resources I've been able to find online.
Just excellent. And BTW, Steelie 1955, Mickey doesn't seem to need anyone's help; his clip is clear and to the point, while your "two cents" might as well be written in Chinese.
Steelie has a good point...The notes relate!...They work...thats the beauty of music...Everyone hears and percieves things differently. He scrutinized it.....He uses the force?....LOL...
When you press B+C pedals, play strings 2345, then release the pedals whilst activating the E lever, slide down two frets, activating the F lever, strings 345.
Thanks for the 2 cents...LOL....Im trying to post some things in very simple formats. Nice change though!...So much o learn and so little time ya know?.....Mickey
Could you detail these intros(strings, frets etc..coz that's the sound!

Love to hear you play! Do you play in Vegas?

Lap steel has no pedals of course, therefore you cannot change the pitch of any string mechanically. Usually the lap steel has fewer strings.

What's the difference between a lap steel and a pedal steel?
