This does not work because you do not have the appropriate driver installed. You can find the drivers on HP website. I had a similar problem when upgrading to Windows 7 and unistalling, reinstalling solved the problem

Whats wrong with it?
Not all tablet PCs auto rotate the screen when you switch from laptop to slate mode.
1) Check that the specific model supports auto screen rotation.
2) Make sure the option is enabled in BIOS and that any drivers needed are installed.
