We were there once too. That is the original car. The only one used. Its a old 20 s oldsmobile with the original motor and everything. I sat in it. It was AWESOME. That was a cool museum. Got lots of pics. The story was they flew it from Ca for the last few shows they filmed in Silver Dollar City. After the filming ended they donated it to the musuem. I bet it would still run but has probably not been started in ages. Also there on the truck was Grannys original shot gun.
you need to get a longer video of it that was to short take video of it all around front and back stand in front of it,,,but its cool DOES IT STILL RUN?
It is hard to say, as TV shows and movies generally have several cars. In "The Dukes of Hazzard" they had dozens of General Lee's over the show's original run. But. since Henning himself reportedly donated it, it probably is.
It's amazing and wonderful that the real truck from the 1962-71 series has been preserved. A lot of times you would expect something like that to be junked after the show is canceled, much the same way they destroyed sets when shows ended their run (i.e.: Batman, Mayberry)...
