My Beatles "62-"65- Pure magic!! I can still conjure up that excitement deep inside myself. I can never forget how much this group shook up our dreary world in 1964. I saw Hard Day's Night at out local movie theater. You had to but tickets ahead of Time. Big tickets with their faces on them. The place was a madhouse. I was an 8 year old boy and I was screaming like the rest of them Ringo!! Ringo!!..I can go back in time and still get that feeling! !After '66 is another group.'62-'65 magic!
@TheJet- There was a time when I wondered if the Beatles were really all that good. I got it into my mind that most of my admiration of them was NOSTALGIC. That I remember where I was when each song was released made me think that my admiration for them was sentimental. I've listened to every song 1,000 times so, I felt I had lost perspective. Then, some Hip/Hop neighbor kids showed me their iPods. Every one of these "Gangsta" bastards had the Beatles library! By god, they really were THAT GOOD!
After '66 they were another group. They were better. More enlightened, More higher. More Aware. But they always knew, especially John, and George, All you need is love.
@Aeerobic "God bless his soul"? What does this mean? If "god" did not spare George a wicked stabbing by a crazed fan, or the kindness to let George die of something other than a horrific form of cancer...why would god "bless" his soul? You people just don't think when you open your mouths. You just don't make sense.
@VioletFielding George struggled with music. While he wrote 3 or 4 great songs, the bulk of his music suffered a kind of RINKY DINK quality, especially in the early years. For every great song he wrote, he wrote 20 others that were just AWFUL. Later, when he went solo, he dumped all the work the Beatles didn't want into "All Things Must Pass" and was promptly sued for PLAGIARISM by the Chiffons. He was also socially awkward. He was neither funny or witty and was always in the shadow of John.
@FrightwoIf You are completely wrong. All Things Must Past is a number one hit critically acclaimed album. Have you not forgotten the awful songs (and I love John and Paul) that John and Paul came out with? You could say the exact same thing. He was not socially awkward he had many friends and he was very funny and witty, why else would he be a Beatle? He was in the shadow of John because he was younger and joined last, do some reading on George Harrison before you insult him.
@SweetChick I agree. John and Paul came out with some pretty lame solo material. Still, neither John or Paul were sued for plagiarizing other people's music. Also, John and Paul produced all NEW music while George had to luxury of drawing from dozens of pieces from his Beatle days, some were 11 years old. Ample time to polish and re-polish these pieces. When you release 30 songs all at once, you're bound to have 4 or 5 hits. Especially if you PLAGIARIZE your biggest one, "My Sweet Lord".
@FrightwoIf I'm pretty sure the whole My Sweet Lord scandal was considered to be wrong, I've listened to the songs and i see hardly any similarities. Yes, well when John and Paul stuck to the fact George could only have 1 or 2 songs for album, who could blame him for releasing what he had already worked on! There isn't anything wrong with that! He wrote Something in 1965 and it got on Abbey Road 4 years later and was probably the most popular song on the album, next to Here Comes The Sun.
@Sweet - "My Sweet Lord" was considered to be "wrong" by a whole LOT of people, including John Lennon. John knew George had intentionally plagiarized this song as much as Bright Tunes Inc. knew. George told friends way back in 1966 that he wanted to do a "cover" of the famous Chiffon's tune.
This is a pattern with George. Watch the YT video "George Harrison Talks About Paul McCartney" and listen to George reduce himself to a petty complainer who never takes responsibility for his own behavior.
@Sweet- George KNEW. George simply did what all the other Beatles had done over the years. John told the media that if George had simply brought "He's So Fine" to him first, the Chiffon's couldn't have "touched him". John knew how to alter things just enough so that nobody could come after their deep pockets. Poor George simply got caught. Look, I liked George. It's just that he by virtue of standing next to two gods for so long, he began to mistake himself for one as well.
Some comments are so weird! No, it's a George Harrison song, a MEMBER of the Beatles. These are photos of their lives TOGETHER! HELLO?! My all time favorite George song with woderfu pctures, many of which I havee never seen before. Paulwas an absolutely adorable toddler (0:07) and a beautiful man. Fab Four Forever!!!!!!!!!!
I understand, but when searching for "George Harrison What Is Life" you were number 127 on the list. This is why you have 8,000 views. But, it's up to you. I'll shut up!
I honestly thought the Beatles sang it due to the distinctive sound, and I never knew until recently it was George Harrison. They're that effective! Thanks for posting this.

@FrightwoIf I meant wrong as in the judge said that he UNKNOWINGLY was accused of plagiarism. It was only just an embarrassment for George.
