Hi grate to see someone doing real world testing. i am in a bit of a dilemma i have just bought a corsair h-60 for my htpc case (dh101) i find the fan to be abit noisy i have it mounted at the front of the case sucking in cold air i want to do push pull either with Gentle typhoons or nfp12's or another beater fan what would you recommend for the best noise? cpu is a amd phenom ii 960 be stock speed (125w) idles at 40*c any help would be very much appreciated
I understand that Anemometer measures the airflow? Did your gadget show this fan has less then 24 CFM at max RPM? That's less then half of advertised spec, unless I'm misinterpreting the readings...
Yes, the advertised specs of fans are open air with zero restriction. Testing on an actual radiator adds restriction which falls in between the two specs of max air flow and static pressure. Static pressure is similar, if you completely block all flow, that's static pressure. The real world is somewhere between those two points.
You bet. The noctua does have a nice smooth sound. It measured high on the noise level meters, but the sound quality is very good especially at 12V. I'm not sure it's a good as it costs, but it is a nice sounding fan.
Is this fan loud at max RPM?
I have the Noctua NF-S9B at max RPM its SOOOO LOUD it drives me crazy and its rated at 17.9dBa.
The NF-P12 are rated at 19.8dBa at max RPM and in this video I cant hear a single thing.
Are my fans faulty?

Thanks for the test, Martin. Very smooth sounding fan. Btw I have the same red multi-meter. :)

The sound is good, but worse than the Nidec GT. If we add that the performance is well below that of the GT, I feel stupid paying 24 € for them.
