I agree. People should not play with explosives because of this very reason. What people should do is learn everything they can about particular materials.  For instance. . . You can pack black gun powder all you want but once you add a metal powder such as aluminum, magnesium, copper, whatever it is no longer safe to pack and must be used loose or with a binding agent. Mistakes happen to the uneducated and careless

When I was younger I played with CO2's and black powder.. My question is why in the hell would you load one with something you had no idea about, and why would you hold it in your hand?

Had you used straight BP, this video would not have been necessary. This isnt a result of a small mistake as much as it IS a severe lapse in judgement.

Thankyou for sharing this video. If it prevents just one person from playing with explosives, then it has served a good cause. That will be one less person who loses a hand, or even one less person killed.

Glad to hear that you are learning to deal with the pain. I have heard of people "feeling" limbs that they have lost, but I did not know that it can cause such terrible pain, even after it has healed. (I never lost a limb, so I have no idea what its like).

@omglmao12345 it wasn't really a "firework" more like a home made explosive. it was pretty old, so the wick on it was deteriorated. i was just the one with the guts ta light it. it didn't take my hand off, more like turned it inside out, was pretty nasty. they amputated what was left at the hospital. i dont know where id be if it didn't happen. im not a religious guy but i now understand the reason why people say "everything happens for a reason". check my vids out dude. there kinda cool...

This is a good example of what happens when people don't treat explosives with respect like making a death mix flash powder or lighting a fuse in your hand. Ever notice that you see chemistry students and real chemists make small quantities of explosives with professionalism and due caution yet even they sometimes have accidents? Failed to go off and I forgot about it.

As for my thumb; I use it for typing, and the flexibility is very limited. I have a prosthetic that I rarely wear,I'll have it in my next video(whenever I get to making it.) If I wear that prosthetic, then I can hold paperwork and stuff, but otherwise my thumb is just a pointer.
