I grew up in Hermosa, moved there in the 60s. I didn't know how wonderful it was until I moved away. Now there is no way I can afford to live there. My parents bought our house which was about 1/4 mile east of PCH on 3rd St. They paid around $37,000 for it.
I don't remember there being a HHS, you either went to Redondo Union High or Mira Costa. And there was Pier Ave which at the time only went as high as the 8th grade.

I grew up in HB .... moved out in 1979 when it was time to raise a family....
I think it used to be a lot more laid back but still a nice place.
