Ken Hensley...a great guy...had a a studio here in St. Louis Mo. for a while and then all of a sudden lost him! Not sure where he;s at now but do remember being 15 yrs.old and yrs. ago listening to this Great music!
@la4ocska - wow me too, but my life was easier than an East European's was at that time. Still, we rode the roads in my part of the world, listening to this album, and loving every minute of it. The lyrics are amazing. Wish there were more groups like this today. Linkin Park, maybe? M&M before he went commercial
When I was a kid in Brazil I used to fall asleep listening to the side A of this LP, and this was the last song... I had a lot of good dreams back in that time... URIAH HEEP FOREVER!!!
@06ranchero Another song to prove David Byron is one of the greatest vocalists of all time as well as one of the most underrated, all the same goes to the band.
It just does not get any better than this! The outro to this makes me howl. Guitars, pianos, more guitars....wow! Makes me glad I lived through this era. Magic music!
Easy all you Uriah Heepians, this is Doobie Brit, you know that.So Whitebread.Get yourselves together with uncles & old timers and find out about the greatest .Without the likes of Yes& ELP Jethro Tull :Heep would not be here
This album is a masterpiece! The era in which this music was made, afforded something very few artists today are allowed. Creativity. I believe that is one of the main reasons we (youth of the '60's and '70's) were witness to so much amazing music. The fact that there was true talent in those bands, surely didn't hurt.
@bobmarleyisgod1 yes Pink Floyd did do some concept albums and depends on your definiation of a concept album. It really makes me sad no one really talks about the awsomeness of the album Atom Heart Mother better and more challenging then any album Zeppelin really ever did
This is one of my favorite albums.I was listening to this song when I went to the bathroom. My crazy ex-girlfriend threw it out the door while I was in there.I nearly went ballistic!
I really dig this track on D&W!Especially bc it has that Led Zep,"Thank-You" vibe goin in it with the organ track.More melancholy.Tori Amos should cover THIS one too :) Hello, fellow listeners.Glad to read all your posts {well SOME of your posts~the negative/arguing stuff could be left out. This is a place for celebration, I feel}...but that's only just MY opinion.Blessed Be, y'all & thank you, again, Children...!Keep on postin great music!
When we were kids and listened to the music of Heep in the 70-ies in Bulgaria, it meant to us much more than just a nice melody . It meant freedom. There are many groups, who could fight for the title "The best ever", but for my generation in Eastern Europe Uriah Heep and Purple are beyond any competion. They were the religion of our teens. No wonder Ken Hensley and the rest spend most of their time in our part of the world.
And "Circle of Hands" will remain the song of my life!
I think for myself demons and wizards is the best album heep ever made. The fourth very good album in only two years. But allways two albums in one year were too much for them. Gerry Bron treated them like shit and things began slowly to change...
This is one of my most all time favorite tunes. Why can't we all keep life this simple? We will always be in the face of adversity. So let us unite and face it together. TOMORROW!
There's absolutely no reason for Uriah Heep to not be up there with Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin for concept albums. Demons and Wizards is in the running for greatest album of all time, as far as I'm concerned.
@rosler211228 He sure is. Luckily my dad showed me classic rock. How many millions of kids will probably never hear this stuff. Sad for them Luck for us.
@rosler211228 - I also love "and in the face of beauty, evil was lost"...these guys were ahead of their time, that's why they are getting re-discovered now...or it could be that greatness comes and stays, but I do consider myself lucky to be young and impressionable in the 70's, cuz some of the greatest, emotive, TALENT was alive and well then. There is nothing more moving that genius manifesting itself in the form of music. Love this song and nearly every one of UH's..thank you!

For any band in those days to deliver such an energy its incredible, that energy level is maintained throughout time.
