Agreed, the only way slicks get sticky is after a pretty good burnout. a few little ones on the street don't do much. They prob spin easier then a regular street tire honestly. At least mine always did.

@trttr125 in the vid essentialy its the sheer power of the engine. and some tricky foot work with the clutch if the engine isent as powerfull as it seems... you can do almost the exact same thing with less power, you just need to slip your clutch and build up revs, once you release the clutch and the power goes.... if usualy can do this...
i've seen a bud do this with a stock SS camaro... but then again he wasent on slicks :P

@nicolasd89 reread what I wrote....a cold slick is easier to spin than a hot slick. Its probably easier to spin a cold slick on the street than a cold street tire.

@nicolasd89 how so? On the street you have rocks and small stones and other impurities that will cause the slick to spin on. Where as if you have a street tire with tread, you're able to get alot more grip. Obviously since you use slicks on a dragstrip, where its smooth and you get 100% contact, the results would be different. I was basically saying that doing a burnout with slicks at 70 mph isn't as impressive as some novice youtubers would think.

@oriclepro09 Tread on tires are ment for displacing water so you have traction on rainy days, that's why slicks are illegal on the road. Slicks have more contact on the road therefore more grip and traction. And even at raceways there can be small bits of rubber from previous car runs, not big ones, just little ones like the rocks you find on roads sometimes, and the slicks still work.

Agreed, the only way slicks get sticky is after a pretty good burnout. a few little ones on the street don't do much. They prob spin easier then a regular street tire honestly. At least mine always did.

I had destroyed 2nd gear on a T5 on the slicks at the track. spun 1st and nailed second then it hooked up and took all of the teeth off. It's amazing how when they hook. They hook haha

@trttr125 in the vid essentialy its the sheer power of the engine. and some tricky foot work with the clutch if the engine isent as powerfull as it seems... you can do almost the exact same thing with less power, you just need to slip your clutch and build up revs, once you release the clutch and the power goes.... if usualy can do this...
i've seen a bud do this with a stock SS camaro... but then again he wasent on slicks :P

@nicolasd89 how so? On the street you have rocks and small stones and other impurities that will cause the slick to spin on. Where as if you have a street tire with tread, you're able to get alot more grip. Obviously since you use slicks on a dragstrip, where its smooth and you get 100% contact, the results would be different. I was basically saying that doing a burnout with slicks at 70 mph isn't as impressive as some novice youtubers would think.

@oriclepro09 Tread on tires are ment for displacing water so you have traction on rainy days, that's why slicks are illegal on the road. Slicks have more contact on the road therefore more grip and traction. And even at raceways there can be small bits of rubber from previous car runs, not big ones, just little ones like the rocks you find on roads sometimes, and the slicks still work.
