take into account actual current draw and multiply that with the voltage to give you watts being used eg 13.8V X 10A = 138 watts which would be like driving around with your headlights on high beam all the time, don't forget your altinator replenishes all this power
Please call these things hydrogen generators, not fuel cells. I am specifically (like many others) looking for a way to generate electricity from hydrogen. When I need a hydrogen electrolizer or generator, I would search for that, not fuel cell.
but what are your results? did you take a recording of your milage regularly before the fuel cell install? did you make the same measurements afterwards? i understand many people put these installations into their cars and see no significant difference in milage.
I find it funny that people keep calling it HHO gas. Lets see HHO=H2O=Water. So your saying that your running your vehicles on Water Gas right? Just by the name itself your running your car on steam. I know your producing Hydrogen from the water to help with ignition, but still just from the name its water gas, no wonder nobody takes it seriously. You telling the world to convert their gas powered cars to steam.
It is not a fuel cell, it is an electrolysis cell. Unless you mean it takes more fuel to produce the gas that it produces...
That tiny bit of HHO is not going to change anything. In fact, unless you mod your mass air flow or O2 sensor, your car will burn slightly more gas since the O2 sensor will detect a lean condition.
Most people mode the O2 sensor and then falsely claim that their mileage went up but in fact they are just running a lean hot engine.
Dont use that soda garbage! It turns brown too fast and makes a mess. Try using Lye or pure sodium hydroxide. Reobic drain cleaner is good but hard to find, home depot sells a black liquid drain cleaner that is mostly NaOH and KOH so give that a try. Better results, less cleanup and longer lasting electrolyte.

no doubt on the fact that we could benefit from this factor but only if there is a prototype that uses a different source of energy to separate the hydrogen and the oxigen cells my sugestion due to the high demand of energy that is needed for this process would be nuclear power plants ofcourse with regulations on safe disposal of nuclear waste or solar power(not as efective) but if we modify the solar plates using nano tech to be more efective to capture more power then it would be possible>
i heard hydrogen was impractical and not energy efficient.that it took way more energy to make hydrogen.i think a more practical way would be electrical powered vehicles
I don't know where your getting your infromation but it is incorrect. Much rather, with electircal cars, prototypes took too much time to charge up, only drove about 30 city miles before you had to recharge the battery and more importantly, the battery needed constant replacing. Hydrogen powered cars are much more enviromently friendly. Plus with a hydrogen car, it spits out pure water ( H2O ) out of the tailpipe instead of carbondioxide.
nope, it takes more power in electricity to create hydrogen than the power of the hydrogen you produce. otherwise, over time, you would have in fact free energy
erm the energy( electic) we use for the cell to produce HHO are from our;s car batt and it will be charge up by ur car charger. so it mean ur charger wil be working harder to charge up the batt. if the amp u use is more then ur charger can recharge. start pushing ur car on next start lol ...

Bullshit. Sorry, this will not and does not work. I hate gas prives like the next guy, but to be so desperate to claim false results and cost people time and money to try it themselves is just wrong. Its very inneficient to generate hydrogen this way, and consumes more fuels then just burning the gas alone.
It does work, and don't disprove me when you have never even tried it. It works, in fact theres people out there that have perfected this so much that it gives about 70mpgs. That is great, the main thing is the electronics that some of the newer cars have, telling your car how to handle the added fuel. Its bacon soda, and distilled water, my buddy has one setup on all of his vehicles, and one of them is an 08 Ford Taurus which measures mpg through the CPU, and the gain is even seen.
Like I said I got buddy with a Ford Taurus 08, it has a digital read out, and it use to say 23.3MPG average, when he installed the hydrogen fuel cell, now it the digital read out reads 38.2.. So yeah its noticeable. I hate people who just come here, and shoot down anything and everything because they haven't got the balls to try it themselves. It don't cost nothing to do, and its easy. I've heard that you can run small engines off of hydrogen. why can't you run a portable generator that why. Then use that electricity to make more hydrogen that would run your car. and charge the batteries?
I believe that would be propetual motion, and the laws of science state that input never equals output...so it could maybe run a little bit, but not that long. And it would need an initial start. :)
Your right there.. You would have to put in more then you would get out. But if you take advantage of solar to charge the batteries you would have free power/gas win-win if you ask me. -Pete
Assuming you're still using high school electrolysis...Look-up Stan Meyer, he created and designed the pulsing circuit that fractures water with minimal energy input.
I cant understand why you want to put this thing in a car? The electrolysis process uses more energy than Hydrogen produced. Because of that you can NOT lower your MPG!!
Your wrong, a typical combustion engine has about 40-60% wasted energy and you are using that watse to make a vehicle run more efficient. So if there is waste energy why not use it. The engine is already running and turning the alternator for power. All your doing is applying some of that electricity to make a fule additive (HHO) increase your MPG.
you are wrong.. Yes, the engine has 40-60% wasted energy. But thats mostly HEAT and you are not using that? are you? .. The alternator uses more and more power the more electricity you are using in a car.. Are you drawing 30A from it it uses more energy to produce that power. So i dont believe in this :) You have to prove it to me with facts that you can prove.. Find me info that the alternator is not using more power from the engine when its under load....
You are so right! People in these forums think that the alternator have a "spare"/"free" electricity that doesent strain the engine. Boy they are wrong. Try idling the engine at neautral without any lights on and then hitting full lights then you will se the rpm lovering temporarliy until the engine compensate it with more gas... voila!
do you think 2-3 amps is makeing a dif on your alt? if so beef up your alt if your that worried ,and by the way who really cares if your retarded self believes it or not.Get off your lazy ass and build one for your self and start running your own test.
Why are you so stupidly ignorant? Are you one of those who cannot base your arguments on facts and use improper language instead? It sure seems so.
I have built many sorts of electrolysis aparatus, never put it direct into an engine. But i have fed an lawnmower enginge with both Hydrogen and methane, without any noticable effect on power output or fuel consumption...
So there you have it!
Hydrogen have a more effecient burn yess, but it still uses substantial ammount of gas to produce!
depending on the type or design of the cell. a nuetral plate inbetween . like -n+n-+ and so forth, but this will decrease hho production. Or less hydroxide. this cell shown will get hot because it doesn't hold enuff water. A general rule would be a cell to hold 2-3 gallons of water at about 15 amps. Don't listen to the na sayers they a phyisics book dudes that don;t know what they are talking about
I like browsing these videos on Utube. What spoils it is reading the comments and finding people that have to insult others because they think they are an authority on a subject. Calling people names is so immature. Grow up "Idiots" You can tell people that you believe they are making a mistake without insulting them.
idiot, what ur getting is a mixture of H2 and O2 not pure hydrogen and the pressure is not great enough to put into a vehicle, u need to increase the pressure of the gas to concentrate enough for true combustion.
You are pretty dumb. If water is H20... it breaks into H H O.... That is 2 Hydrogen atoms and one oxygen, separated. h2 and H H are different. And where is the extra 0 coming from? It is O not O2.
I take it you failed chem class? Oxygen and hydrogen form diatomic bonds so the gas would in reality be H4 O2 with two hydrogens bonded to each other and to oxygen molecules bonded to each other.
This is a very ruff explanation as I do not have the patients to teach you G10 chem, go back and learn it more throughly!
well I screwed up, I'm rusty, H4 is an incorrect way to state what I was trying to say, it makes it appear to be a compound, the proper way to state it is 2H2 O2.
Every utube vid relating to hydrogen extraction has posts from those who apparently know better factually explaining how it won't work. So I went out and tried a crude design to see for myself. And my MPG went from 15 to 24 in my beat up 15yr old carb jeep! And this was mostly city driving. I used to pass all this all off because I focus on facts based on long, free chemistry lessons from the comments. There must be undiscovered properties of hydrogen that is not explained in our science books
Exactly A booster producing 1lpm will make a big jump in your MPG .These people who SPEW The math behind it does not have all the facts. My booster which is based off Smack design makes a 40-44% increase in millage on my v6 3.3l van.
Why do you get excited for the production of H? The net energy is a big loss. This expereiment is hundred years old. What can you do with the H? There is no way to store it. Ok, it is fun to see the bubbles.
yes, yes you can, it is the compression of it is the tricky part as it heats up on expansion unles you get below its inversion temp. That and it is a verry high pressur gas!
But to do so it must be free of both moisture and O2, this guy is not producing hydrogen alone, it is Oxy hydro mix, compress it and it goes boom!
New technology no longer requires compression to store hydrogen efficiently. Go on google and type in New Hydrogen Storage Technology. The hydrogen tablet is safe and inexpensive. In this respect it is different from most other hydrogen storage technologies. You can literally carry the material in your pocket without any kind of safety precaution
Thats not a fuel cell fool! Thats called electrolysis, a fuel cell generates electricity and water as a bi product not hydrogen gas. At the same time I wouldn't be all that shocked if your device help make your car a bit more efficient.
Don't people stop and think, "hmmm...I'm getting back more energy than I'm putting in. Hmm...that's like having a battery powered battery recharger. Gee, this might be a con." I think this just reflects the shitty US education system, considering there is still a market for this sort of con.
Btw, the way it is assembled he's getting a perfect mix of hydrogen and oxygen, basically making a pipe bomb. That's what I want in my car!
No, it isn't a pipe bomb. The small amount of hydrogen is less than the tank of gasoline explosion wise since the production of hydrogen is consumed almost immediately as it is produced, there is no tank of hydrogen in this application.
Do you not know how a supercharger works? It takes energy to turn it but in return gives you more energy. Thats the same as what the hydrogen cells are doing.
Actually, a supercharger works by blowing more air into the engine, and therefore allowing more fuel to be burned. The boost in energy is from the additional fuel being burned per power stroke, not just by the mere presence of a super charger. Again, there's no such thing as free energy. It's a fundamental law of physics, where if untrue, our universe would have torn itself apart long ago.
Thats the point though, its not free energy. He has to but power in to get power out. The hydrogen is more efficient than petrol and actually improves combustion. Its like a supercharger in a funny kind of way because it is putting more fuel and air into the combustion chambers, except the fuel is hydrogen and not petrol.
I put one together and although it successfully worked, I could only keep the power connected for some 10 seconds...and that was pushing it. My wires kept getting red hot and melting the jackets off. I triple checked that there were no direct shorts. Do you use a current regulator of any sort? Please let me know. I'd like to ask you a few other questions about it if you wouldn't mind.
Is that an old NSA water filter case? Brilliant!! Here I am trying frantically to figure out what to build one in. I'm gonna try that! do you have any problem with water getting into the combustion chamber?
pffft not boring at all. Very interesting to watch and a pretty good idea. How much did you spend in total to get this fuel cell operational?

Mega Joules per liter.
Gasoline 34.2
Gaseous Hydrogen at room temperature 0.01079
HHO, two parts H one part O so divide 0.01079 by 3 x 2 = energy density 0.00719 Mega Joules per liter at room temp.
Raise temp to typical HHO cell temp 185 F (60 amps input) gas expands 21.76 percent.
0.00719 divided by 121.76 x 100 energy density now 0.00590 Mega Joules per liter.
34.2 Mega Joules divided by 0.00590, ratio of 5,796.6 to one. One gallon of gasoline = 5,796.6 gallons of HHO.

The engine is already running and turning the alternator for power. All your doing is applying some of that electricity to make a fule additive (HHO) increase your MPG.
zmance 3 years ago
you are wrong.. Find me info that the alternator is not using more power from the engine when its under load....
taz79 3 years ago
You are so right! People in these forums think that the alternator have a "spare"/"free" electricity that doesent strain the engine. Boy they are wrong. Try idling the engine at neautral without any lights on and then hitting full lights then you will se the rpm lovering temporarliy until the engine compensate it with more gas... voila!
Johanoeberg 3 years ago
do you think 2-3 amps is makeing a dif on your alt? if so beef up your alt if your that worried ,and by the way who really cares if your retarded self believes it or not.Get off your lazy ass and build one for your self and start running your own test.
sidebarr7 3 years ago
Why are you so stupidly ignorant? Are you one of those who cannot base your arguments on facts and use improper language instead? It sure seems so.
I have built many sorts of electrolysis aparatus, never put it direct into an engine. But i have fed an lawnmower enginge with both Hydrogen and methane, without any noticable effect on power output or fuel consumption...
So there you have it!
Hydrogen have a more effecient burn yess, but it still uses substantial ammount of gas to produce!
Johanoeberg 3 years ago
Do your home work ,your engine does not even burn all the gas that pases thro it.Hydrogen mixed with it will help burn more effiecient,
sidebarr7 3 years ago
Then is it maybe the addition of oxygen that contributes to the more effective combustion?
Do your homework yourself.
I say it again.
A good ICE have effeciency of 0,3. A normal alternator have eff. of 0,6. A normal electrolyser have roughly 0,8
So, if you put in 1 unit of energy you will get out (1x0,3x0,6x0,8) 0.144 units of energy in form of hydrogen...
1/0.144 = 6.944
Your theory only works if hydrogen have MORE than 6.944 times the energy density than gasoline. IT DOESNT!

How many amps are you drawing? Have a similar cell that is drawing more thn 25 and boiling the water? How can I lower this?
makis96 3 years ago
depending on the type or design of the cell. a nuetral plate inbetween . like -n+n-+ and so forth, but this will decrease hho production. Or less hydroxide. this cell shown will get hot because it doesn't hold enuff water. A general rule would be a cell to hold 2-3 gallons of water at about 15 amps. Don't listen to the na sayers they a phyisics book dudes that don;t know what they are talking about
gibsonrockin247 3 years ago
if you do that wont you lose water...it is h20...when extracted it just become 0

This isn't a Fuel cell this is electrolysis.

also wondering how the ECU adjusts to the new fuel mixture, do you put the line before or after the O2 sensor?
SlavaVB 3 years ago
is there any kind of plate erosion or deposition? what sort of water do you use?

I don't know about the 100% h2o claims but the hybrid set up is awesome!!
I just posted video about the guys who sell the plans for $19.95. hho-hybrid . com or go to my videos I have one on my Dodge Stealth

1stsmosh 3 years ago
You are pretty dumb. If water is H20... it breaks into H H O.... That is 2 Hydrogen atoms and one oxygen, separated. h2 and H H are different. And where is the extra 0 coming from? It is O not O2.
Hexxangel 3 years ago
I take it you failed chem class? Oxygen and hydrogen form diatomic bonds so the gas would in reality be H4 O2 with two hydrogens bonded to each other and to oxygen molecules bonded to each other.
This is a very ruff explanation as I do not have the patients to teach you G10 chem, go back and learn it more throughly!
Helldistroyer 3 years ago
Oh well then, I'll let you get back to your Patients, Doctor...
Karlfalcon 3 years ago
well I screwed up, I'm rusty, H4 is an incorrect way to state what I was trying to say, it makes it appear to be a compound, the proper way to state it is 2H2 O2.
I humbly apologies for not being more care full.
Helldistroyer 3 years ago
Every utube vid relating to hydrogen extraction has posts from those who apparently know better factually explaining how it won't work. So I went out and tried a crude design to see for myself. And my MPG went from 15 to 24 in my beat up 15yr old carb jeep! And this was mostly city driving. I used to pass all this all off because I focus on facts based on long, free chemistry lessons from the comments. There must be undiscovered properties of hydrogen that is not explained in our science books
Crd744 3 years ago
Exactly A booster producing 1lpm will make a big jump in your MPG .These people who SPEW The math behind it does not have all the facts. My booster which is based off Smack design makes a 40-44% increase in millage on my v6 3.3l van.
Vistal1 3 years ago
Hexxangel, time for u to go back to chemistry class and learn about Diatomic. THe gasses from the electrolysis of water are Diatomic.
1stsmosh 3 years ago
Why do you get excited for the production of H? The net energy is a big loss. This expereiment is hundred years old. What can you do with the H? There is no way to store it. Ok, it is fun to see the bubbles.
joefalcade 3 years ago
actually hydrogen can be stored. a friend of mine at nasa told me so, and also a friend of mine use to transport it all the time.
scottwstew 3 years ago
yes, yes you can, it is the compression of it is the tricky part as it heats up on expansion unles you get below its inversion temp. That and it is a verry high pressur gas!
But to do so it must be free of both moisture and O2, this guy is not producing hydrogen alone, it is Oxy hydro mix, compress it and it goes boom!
Helldistroyer 3 years ago
i hear ya man he told me to imagine a giant coke can, and at very cold temps.
scottwstew 3 years ago
New technology no longer requires compression to store hydrogen efficiently. Go on google and type in New Hydrogen Storage Technology. The hydrogen tablet is safe and inexpensive. In this respect it is different from most other hydrogen storage technologies. You can literally carry the material in your pocket without any kind of safety precaution
JetBlueIce 3 years ago
Thats not a fuel cell fool! Thats called electrolysis, a fuel cell generates electricity and water as a bi product not hydrogen gas. At the same time I wouldn't be all that shocked if your device help make your car a bit more efficient.
bkspider109 4 years ago 6
Don't people stop and think, "hmmm...I'm getting back more energy than I'm putting in. Hmm...that's like having a battery powered battery recharger. Gee, this might be a con." I think this just reflects the shitty US education system, considering there is still a market for this sort of con.
Btw, the way it is assembled he's getting a perfect mix of hydrogen and oxygen, basically making a pipe bomb. That's what I want in my car!
llamaero1234 4 years ago
No, it isn't a pipe bomb. The small amount of hydrogen is less than the tank of gasoline explosion wise since the production of hydrogen is consumed almost immediately as it is produced, there is no tank of hydrogen in this application.
haansgruber 4 years ago 4
Do you not know how a supercharger works? It takes energy to turn it but in return gives you more energy. Thats the same as what the hydrogen cells are doing.
samandlauz 3 years ago
Actually, a supercharger works by blowing more air into the engine, and therefore allowing more fuel to be burned. The boost in energy is from the additional fuel being burned per power stroke, not just by the mere presence of a super charger. Again, there's no such thing as free energy. It's a fundamental law of physics, where if untrue, our universe would have torn itself apart long ago.
llamaero1234 3 years ago
Thats the point though, its not free energy. He has to but power in to get power out. The hydrogen is more efficient than petrol and actually improves combustion. Its like a supercharger in a funny kind of way because it is putting more fuel and air into the combustion chambers, except the fuel is hydrogen and not petrol.
samandlauz 3 years ago
correct
cgfarkus 3 years ago
how you get all the info on how to buid this?
thanks
carmindolindo 4 years ago
He's actually not using a fuel cell. He's using electrolysis - simply running electricity through water to get hydrogen and oxygen.

Hi sir,
Question for you:
I put one together and although it successfully worked, I could only keep the power connected for some 10 seconds...and that was pushing it. My wires kept getting red hot and melting the jackets off. I triple checked that there were no direct shorts. Do you use a current regulator of any sort? Please let me know. I'd like to ask you a few other questions about it if you wouldn't mind.

Is that an old NSA water filter case? Brilliant!! Here I am trying frantically to figure out what to build one in. I'm gonna try that! do you have any problem with water getting into the combustion chamber?

I can't wait either. Are you sure this won't damage your engine?

Just make sure to use a c-trap to capture electrolyte.
