  • Somebody(some jerk!) stepped on his monitor cable because of which I think he cut short his concert. Sivamani's drums become annoyingly loud in the end when you can hardly hear the violinist. Btw the song's called "Ananda Nadamadum Tillai Sankara". Wait till you hear the original.. he plays something like 12 raga's in that song at breathtaking speeds...the transitions are orgasmic... or wait.. Just read Amazon reviews for 'Who's to know'. :)

  • In fact Shakti = L Shankar, Zakir, Vikku and John McLaughlin. So, this concert was in a way 3/4 of the Shakti lineup. Also, the composition is Dr.L.Shankar's own. It is from his album "Who's to Know" which has Zakir on the Tabla and mridangam legend Umayalapuram Sivaraman as accompanists. This is set to Raga Savitri. In the album though, he plays a Raga Malika. He must have planned something similar here, if you notice a sudden drop in his mike sound.

  • @parthbhatt1: Typo in your info. This is NOT L.Subramaniam. Kindly see the video at 8:28. This is the legendary Dr.L.Shankar of Shakti fame. Both are brothers. Please change at the earliest. The least we can do to these great artists is give them due credit. Dr.L.Shankar invented the double violin which he is playing.
