there has to be an intercooler, but the intake is connected to the turbo...the intercooler is conected to to the throttle body...and the other pipw from the intercooler goes on the other side of the turbo

@cabowabo290 older diesels (at least Fords) have plenty of power, i'm a diesel tech at a Ford dealer and while I haven't worked on many of the old indirect injection, naturally aspirated Power Strokes, I have driven them a few times and they almost feel just about as powerful as a Power Stroke with a turbo. The fuel injection system is completely different than one with a turbo and they don't have a turbo so there is no turbo lag when accelerating.

...... If it is turbo then yes. I dont see how you people dont get the concept. A Blow off valve is there to vent excess pressure that is still in the intake after letting off the gas. On a Naturally aspirated motor you only create vacuum at idle and 0 pressure at Wide Open Throttle. A turbo kit creates positive pressure....hence the reason for a Vent for pressure A.K.A. Blow Off Valve

grassdrag...that would be your turbo spooling up...I have a 96 f250 powerstroke also...spooling up builds turbo pressure then the rush of air when you let off the pedal is the excess air created by turbo...

you have a vacum leak somewhere between the airbox and the turbo inlet.... the same thing happened with my cummins... u have some type of airleak somwhere in the system

A blow off valve releases pressure from the inlet piping after the turbo when the throttle plate closes, and uses the resulting vacuum in the inlet manifold to help open the valve. It won't work on a diesel engine that doesn't have a throttle butterfly.

They whistle because they spin in upwards of 20,000 rpm and the diesel turbos are huge. If you want the whistle to be louder, remove the muffler, and a performance intake (especially K&N)should make it more pronounced
