@hunsakermountain if it's going to be your first Mac, I would suggest the MacBook Pro, given that you need a laptop. The Air is great, but it's main advantages over the Pro are it's size and weight. If you're going to carry it around a lot, or travel, it's the right choice. But if you are mainly going to keep it in the house, the Pro is the way to go in my opinion.
