The shelters don't have room/funds to be able to save these animals, do you really think that they have the funds to do something nicer? When kitten season hits in a month they will receive 3 times as many intakes as adoptions - those unlucky two thirds will suffer the same fate as those in this video. They will call us foster groups, and cry, and beg, and we will save all we can - but until our nation is educated enough about altering pets, until their owners care enough, this will continue.

Animals can't be buried just anywhere. Shelters can't afford to bury animals in pet cemeteries. Its not like they are just tossed in the garbage, well at least the good shelters. All euthanized animals are placed in the incinerator. Is it pleasant? No but its the truth of things. Do you think shelter workers enjoy doing this? I have friends who go home crying most days because they had to put down the sweetest and most loving animals who's time was up.
