Hey! I appreciate the video you posted....Only one problem. You need to hear the song again. The BASS LINe in the song is Different than what you are Playing. Get someone besides yourself to truly hear the DiFFerencE. Thanks!!
dont give up! it looks like youve got a very nice bass guitar there, some japan basslines arent too hard, try "quiet life", it starts with the note "a"
You have to learn to make that bass sing.

the bass parts off "Titles" are also CLASSIC and instructive.
Mick always uses open string positions/pivoting off an open string -moving to some trippy lick he came up with.
Like "Son's of Pioneers" or "gentlemen take polaroids".
You gotta play HARD -DIG into to those notes.
Mick played a shitty bass for a long time before he got a hold of that WAL bass.
He plays hard and heavy.

most MK lines are so unusual that the only clue sometimes is "starts with the note D"

WHY ARE YOU MIMING? LEARN TO PLAY!!!

Is not miming a way to learn? I agree that not the best approach but....

Congratulations!! Mick Karn is a god of bass players, Dalis Car were superb, and that was a brave attempt at one of his bass lines. Well done x
