I love to listen to my wife and my son sing together. My second favorite is you and your sons. Something in the same and different blend of a family And then any thing you do. Please keep your sons singing. And please keep making more multi-track. Don't stop believing was always a favorite of mine, Your's is great.
It surely is amazing. Only as well as making me smile, it brought a tear of joy to my eye. What a wonderful way for a father and son to share time together.
This is great but I've got to spread the word. Take out the American 'r'. It's just my preference. Any singer and any song can sound great with those 'r's in there, but without them, the sound is so much more professional. Sadly, today, professionals sing with these 'r's but I can't stand them. Blame my jr high teacher. She was amazing but now I hate American 'r's in music. Haha I tell my students sing British or australian. Otherwise, sounds great.
ou should be proud. It's funny, listening to several versions on YT, I thought how fun it would be to do all parts (53yo) but you beat me to it. And I wouldn't sound near as good. Nice work.
Vance and Jason...there is no better time spent between Father and Son than in harmony singing. If anyone teases you over your choice of things to do for fun, Jason, just ignore them and know that you and your Dad have something very special that not many youngsters your age will ever have. Treasure these times.
OH WOWW MAN !!! THIS IS THE BOMB !! WWHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. REALLY GREAT.. DON'T HAVE MUCH TO SAY.. I love how your son really feels it when he sings, I can tell he's a great kid and he has soul. Good job buddy ! Great rendition, wow :)
Oh this is fabulous!!! =D Really lovely!! Jason's got a beautiful voice - really well controlled! And it's so meaningful as a collab with you rather than on his own - really a family affair! ;) Great job!!
Absolutely amazing. Such a beautiful rendition. My 8 year old twins sing with me when I'm listening to barbershop learning tracks in the car. I never thought of actually trying a multi-track. I'm inspired, and for that I thank you and your talented son.
really nice job guys--Vance you must be pretty proud. Will be interesting to see what happens when his voice changes. Jason no matter what, keep a song in your heart.
I like to just pop into youtube and play this around people without warning. Don't explain. Just play it. The amazing thing is you everybody in the room shut up for a blessed 3 minutes and 45 secs. Splendid selection.
Amen ! My mom taught me to sing harmony by ear from such a young age that I have no meaningful memory. I remember singing rounds with her before I was eight while we shared a tedious housecleaning chore. I treasure the skill now that my next birthday will be #69 and she has been gone for thirty years. Blessings !
The best hope for preserving our art-form is parents and other family members sharing the joy with their children. Jason is already a rising star and I look forward to seeing him in the Collegiate Competition at a near-future International!
Really good, I know you're young but darken your tome and give it a more English sound to your vowels and it will be reeeeaally rich sounding. You have a fantastic voice great job

Wow. There's absolutely nothing better than making excellent, highly artistic music with your own children. What a blessing--for the parent, for the child and for each one of us who is privileged to peek in and silently observe. I really believe God is smiling. Thank you.
I used to sing tight accapella harmonies myself. I saw this video today for the 1st time. IT MOVED ME TO TEARS!.. Most every time I watch it. Such a talented YOUNG fellow. Trained where he lays his head to sleep!! Bravo Dad! (ur good too!)
it is VERY good. But, i think the balance is just a little bit off, i understand it is a soprano heavy song, but the harmony is what makes the song. i like how i could understand the words better than some of the other virtual choirs, though. great work but if you make another in the future, work on your balance
Great job on such a hard arrangement! Being a past member of SPEBSQSA/BHS, there's nothing as hard as staying on a note when there's a monster rub in the cord. The ear SCREAMS that it sounds like doo-doo, but the mind rules all and stays put on the dissonant note. Awesome recording Vance, and keep singing Vance. As I write this post, I notice that 5 people either want to pick it to pieces by saying what's wrong or don't like good vocal music. Don't let it get ya down!
This is amazing, brought tears to my eyes. Nothing strengthens a bond between people like music, as a parent I love to see you and Jason make such amazing music together for this reason, as well as because it is so lovely!
Jason, you are incredible. Vance what an inspiration!!
I'd love to do this with my kids. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure how to do it. I have video and recording equipment. Can you suggest a few tips for doing a project like this. I have identical twin girls who are turning 7 and they do have reasonable voices.

Okay, so my name is Tori Kent. Your cousin, David, is my band instructor(that's how I know you) My family used to sing with David. You are such an insperation, that me and my uncle are doing and acappella of this(: And believe me, it's because of you(:

very nice cover... my favourite 4 part arrangement of this piece of all time is Marc Lionetti's arrangement for Blind Man's Bluff (especially as performed by Maybebop), but you do a really good job with this one as well.
Outstanding! I loved the earlier collab as well with the other two boys and have been hoping to see more of these father/son mentoring clips from your family! I think it is awesome Jason, you approached your dad and WANTED to do this project. Thanks for sharing your gift with us!
Your boy has a great voice and excellent pitch! This is truly a blessing. I am reminded of that scripture that says "The Father and the Son are ONE!" I woke up the other day and discovered I had become my Father. He rests in Heaven so we shall meet again. Shalom! Thanks for this! It touched my heart in a deep place!
First of all, I really enjoyed listening to this song. I had never heard it before so I went and listened to a few other versions, including Billy Joel's original. I have to tell you, this is by far my favorite. I listened to it about 7x. It is very simple and soothing.
Jason, you did a great job. Your dad has a lot to give. Receive it. You 2 may have just inspired me to try a multitrack with my oldest daughter. Keep up the good work. I eagerly anticipate your next release.
That was wonderful. Jason, you did a great job and it was a joy to listen.. I would like to hear more, and I encourage you. Suggestion for the 2 of you. Jason's voice is beautiful, but he is still young enough to be in a youthful boy's higher range. What about Jason doing all the parts to a song using the style of a Catholic "choir boys" choir? (I'm not Catholic, but the tones produced by a Catholic boys choir might fit his current voice for a full Multi-track piece..just him.
@acapellaman45 I, too, was thinking as you, and I am also not Catholic. And I was thinking that if he raised the key just a little bit, then he might also be able to reach the bass part by himself.
Vance, I've been watching you and the guys for years. And love the work. But this introducing and training kids puts you over the top. Thank you. Briggs
And if the whole great barbershop idea and perfect realization wasn't enough the deafening pause after "silence" nails the song hard and propels it to levels unheard. It's amaizing you lead your kids to music. I pray God blesses them with gifts to serve Him the best they can.
I think he needs a LITTLE work on his tone (it's the right pitch I'm sure, just a little piercing or shaky at times). But he's still GREAT =D I wanna hear more ^_^
And sad song, I really wish I didn't relate to it so well =/
I am glad you mentioned UnderAge/LoveNotes. Until now they had been the only ones I had heard that did this song justice in a barbershop arrangement. Now, there are two. Jason and you have done a wonderful job with this. I hope you both stick with it and I hope to hear more of Jason as he gets older and is able to hit the bass notes himself.
HEY VANCE!! just a request. could you do a multitrack cover for Thank you by Boyz II Men?? that would be awesome!! and btw this is one of the most beautiful pieces i have ever heard. and sung beautifully. Thanks and God Bless
Thanks for the smile at bottom left, at the end! The song is so intense, I guess smiles in the middle wouldn't fit. But I think everyone wants Jason to have a happy face when he can!
So, is Jason Perry now the youngest YouTube™ Multitracker?
(I’m defining “multitracker” here as a person who sings [or plays] two or more parts “simultaneously” in one video, so your previous Beach Boys “In My Room” video doesn’t count for your sons [though it does for you, since you sang two parts in it].)
Bravo guys, loved it! This was moving and well sung!
@Jason: You've got a great voice, keep it up, man. I look forward to hearing you again soon!
@Vance: You must be one proud Dad. It's wonderful you share your solid multitrack experience with your kids and make your family music available to people like me on the other side of the planet. ;-)
Congratulations, this is a very nice track. I'm very happy to hear one of your children again... he's really grown up since " in my room" . I wish I had that voice as i was in his age. It's really cool that you give him the possibility to produce such a good track .
to Jason :
Hey Jason , you are a really talented boy, and i'm sure we'll see much new tracks of you in futur. Go on !
The God of Heaven has put a song in your heart. Your Father is a great man. Keep the song in your heart and on your lips. Listen to your Dad, He will be your best friend and confidant! The Father and the son are one. You have excellent pitch - perfect! I have been in music for over 40 years now, you have an excellent voice. Keep Singing! You will bless many people with the song from your heart!
This is sooo precious, I absolutely love this. Liked of course!! You and Jason did wonderfully!!!! <3 Hopefully when I get older I will be able to multi track with my kids just like you do haha. :)
Nice to see family involved Vance!.... Great job!. Jason, DEEP breath and tighten the diaphram, it'll help strengthen the only two "almost out of breath-kinda quivery notes.
(Mr. Klausen my 7th grade music teacher taught me that). You still put me to shame though!!!! Awsome you guys! Thanks and God bless!!
Vance; question: do the other 2 sons still sing too or just Jason now? [remembering the IN MY ROOM video with them].....this is going on my facebook page bud!

Thanks and God Bless
ivorytickler94 1 year ago

It's wonderful you share your solid multitrack experience with your kids and make your family music available to people like me on the other side of the planet. ;-)
Cheers,
Julien

Wow...he has such a very nice voice! It's that kind of voice that makes me wish I was a tenor instead of a bass.

Hey Vance,
Congratulations, this is a very nice track.
Go on !
Best Regards René

Nice to see family involved Vance!.... Great job!. Jason, DEEP breath and tighten the diaphram, it'll help strengthen the only two "almost out of breath-kinda quivery notes.
(Mr. Klausen my 7th grade music teacher taught me that). You still put me to shame though!!!! Awsome you guys! Thanks and God bless!!
