  • Can't wait for monster mopar weekend

  • Beautiful! I can't wait for this weekend, the 31st Annual Nostalgia Drags & Funny Car Reunion at Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey. The fastest Drag Strip in North America!

  • @ExUSSailor Fastest drag strip? I think that is held by Mission Raceways out west in British Columbia and the Houston track in Texas

  • Them hammerheads are fast!

  • Damn those altered wheelbases look cool!

  • Great stuff this :-) Thanks OneBadSuperBird for bringing this footage to us. WE LUV'd it!!

  • slick car man 5 stars

  • that hemi sounds kinda like one of them 5 horse briggs at idle hahaha mopar or no car

  • This is where the phrase"funny car"was coined

  • Correction... In 1965, Bill Flynn's "Yankee Peddler" was the only sedan built, of the original factory AWB cars. Sox & Martin had one, & then switched to the hardtop car. ALL the '65 Plymouth Hardtop AWB cars, used sedan doors, from a Belvedere II. The Dodge H.T. cars model 440, used sedan doors from the 330 Dodge car.

  • Saw this car then. Somthing broke on front end and came down on oil filter. Luckly he shut it off in time before motor got toasted. Very cool ride.

  • One of the "original" 1/4 mile warriors in my book....Both the Dodge Coronet and Plymouth Belvedere altered wheelbase cars were true street fighters. They are badass! Love the (I'm guessing here) Hilborn Injection, this car is truely wicked!

  • Yup, that is a Hilborn injected Hemi.

  • greenmetal1 Only 1 of the orig factory 65 AWB Dodge & Ply's was a 2 dr sedan Ply Bel I Sox & Martin car. ALL the rest were 2dr hdtops w/sedan drs. The orig AWB 65's were built for Chrys Corp by Amblewagon They mfg ambulances NO AWB cars were street cars NO 65cars were sold to the public with a Hemi for the street. 65 AWB Mopars are the orig AWB cars that had frt wheels moved fwd 10" & the rear 15" The 1 of a kind & 1 yr only '65 AWB Mopar story is a unique piece of Drag Racing History!

  • awesome!
