I've seen lots of Bluebirds, the first one being Sarah Lamb. To me, she still is the perfect Princess Florine - no one can top her in this role.

This is ballet not like what some of the other dancers are trying do. Ballet is not just about lifting your leg as high as possible or doing funny shapes with you body! It is about the gracefulness of the movement, artistry and how you transit from one step to another! Sarah Lamb has shown us what classical ballet is really about! Thank you, Sarah! Well done!

@13GarciaL No. For the female, the secondary role is the Lilac Fairy. After that, it gets harder, but probably Princess Florine! (The bluebird girl)

we are performing sleeping beauty with the exact same choregraphy at my companyand my teacher is giving me an option of either the bluebird girl or lilac fairy and since bluebird has more dancing time i assumed the better role to accept would be bluebird girl. agree?

@13GarciaL No. I would absolutely accept the Lilac Fairy. Appart from this PPD, this is about all the Bluebird has. The Lilac Fairy is in every act, with a lot of dancing and is the second biggest role in the production. I would pick the lilac fairy.

This is how beautiful ballet can be. Sarah Lamb is a beautiful woman and a beautiful and extremely talented dancer. I am going to ROH to see her on the 12th April, can't wait.

Sorry to tell you but the male dancer is not Jose Martin. It is Yoheshi Sasaki who regretfully left the Royal Ballet in either 2009 or 2010.The cast printing is incorrect on the Opus Arte dvd.
