  • I see the climate change denialists are getting more and more desperate with each passing year.

  • Not only are these people wrong, but they're very dangerously wrong.

Seriously, guys,do me a favour:firstly, read a science book, and 2ndly,please keep up to date on the latest findings on global climate shifts.

CO2 is a dangerous pollutant that must be limited globally.Previously,we didn't limit g.gases, because the world economy was quite small, and also because capitalism wasn't sufficiently evolved. It didn't take the environment's needs into account.Cap and trade is an effort to get it to do so.

  • @spacetweek "CO2 is a dangerous pollutant" ... you do realize that plants 'breath' CO2?

  • @godsadog But we don't, ask yourself this if its good for us why did Apollo 13 have a filter made to get the stuff out of the ship. Also if you think it's good for you tie a plastic bag over your head and go to sleep, see how that works out for you. See everything on earth is natural, even Nuclear power is from the earth technically, now that doesn't mean that Uranium is no a pollutant, or a vast liberal plot, it just means it will kill you.

  • @Faelsun CO2 is a vital requirement for you to live though. It is not a "pollutant", without it, we'd all be dead. Your definition is totally incorrect and is not suitable.

  • @godsadog Its vital for life on earth yes, but is toxic for humans to breathe, this is third grade shit and sad you cant comprehend it.

  • @Faelsun "A pollutant is a waste material that pollutes air, water or soil, and is the cause of pollution". As CO2 is not a waste material, it's not a pollutant. This is 2nd grade shit and sad you cant comprehend it.

  • @godsadog Shit is natural to, do you shit where you eat? Human beings cannot live on a planet with 80% C02, we can't breathe helium either, but like I said wear a plastic bag over your head and go to sleep, see how good C02 is for you, then I guarantee you my Second grade Science beats your second grade science.

  • @spacetweek i trust no-one who spells favor, "favour"....must be from overseas...let me ask you to check this, commas are to be followed with a space. when you are able to properly punctuate we will be more apt to listen to your scientific theories

  • @gnomegnarly13 Yes I am from overseas which is why I spelled it "favour". This is correct English in my country. As for the punctuation, that was because I ran out of my 500-character limit and had to squeeze the space. I do not normally use textspeak.

Now can you please respond to my points about how capitalism doesn't take the environment's needs into account. It's a fine system, but needs tweaking.

  • i can't stand this gov. cap and trade just ruined us

  • I guarantee that "Phil Valentine" pleasures himself to a lifesize poster of Glenn Beck nightly.

  • FUCK!

  • Freedom of speech will be the first right to go.

  • @somecapitalletters

Yes, global warming does express itself though extreme weather petterns. And as you say, it does express itself though both hot and cold extremes. There's tons of empirical evidence out there that I think people should have a a look at...

  • All the "empirical" evidence is based on computer projection models. In other words, there is no evidence. CO2 is a minor player in greenhouse. It has a logarithmic, not an exponential effect on greenhouse--the more you add, the less effect it has. By the way, greenhouse is what makes life on planet Earth possible.

  • @stooben1 Firstly, logarithmic is a synonym of exponential. Secondly, the more you add the more it heats up the planet, melts the ice which would reflect sunlight, exposing the darker sea which reflect less light and absobs more heat heats up and melts more ice, so its a +feedback loop. Thirdly, the hockey stick is based on MULTIPLE sources of historical data that is as solid as concrete. And like with everything that's good in moderation: Too much of it will tilt the balance towards an extreme.

  • I understand that small companies will find the extra taxes harmful to their bussiness, and some might even go bankrupt because of it. I am self employed myself and I do get it. But in my opinion these taxes are a necessary evil that will get people to change their ways. In the short term a few people might lose their jobs. In the long term (if it's not too late already) I think it will improve our quality of life and hopefully prevent global warming because if it doesn't, we're all screwed.

  • You know what? If you guys still really TRULY believe that global warming is a hoax to increase taxes you people really are really out of it.

There's probably nothing I can say to change your minds, so why don't you research it yourselfs. Don't listen to corporate parrots that have hidden agendas. Look at both sides and make a LOGICAL, IMPARTIAL decision.

  • @Inimbrium

Who do you think is the LARGEST SUPPORTER AND FUNDER of continued "climate change" research, PR campaigns, and legislation? Wall Street you oaf! Quantifying and trading the right to emit CO2 is a wet dream for the financial services industry! You can magically invent a brand new commodity that exists only on paper, then trade them, create all kinds of derivatives based on them, then leverage everything up! Sound familiar!?

  • Yes, new opportunities in a changing world! But the reason behind Carbon Credits and the general monetary quantification of CO2 is because in today's world money seems to be the only thing that matters to people. So by taxing the harm we do to our planet we are representing the harm we do into something people understand: MONEY. The whole point of this scheme is to reduce CO2 emissions and encourage the adaptation of greener technologies. So if you want to pay less Carbon tax, use less Carbon.

  • "Yes, new opportunities in a changing world!"

New opportunities that will inhibit business growth and make trillions for the same people that imploded our economy already? No thanks.

You see, my problem is with your self-righteousness and your desire to regulate MY life. If you want to live greener, go ahead and reduce your own carbon footprint. The problem is that cap and tax is government coercion. Sorry to ruin the party, but you do not have the right to tell others how to live.

  • I am entitled to my personal opinion wether you like it or not. As a single person I don't have the right to tell you to do anything, but being part of a modern, democratic society which is based on universal suffrage I can express my opinion though vote. If you don't like what the majority agrees upon move somewhere else.

  • Go Google "Tyranny of the majority"

The essence of the American republic is the protection of the rights of the individual from coercion and force, even that of the majority.

A free society is based on VOLUNTARY association and voluntary choice. Don't mask your selfishness and self-righteousness by pretending this has ANYTHING to do with "democracy."

You ARE entitled to your opinion, and to choose how to live your life, but NO vote of the majority can take those same rights away from me.

  • @entyrion No one SHOULD take your rights away, but that's the unfortunate way way modern democracy works. I'm just lucky that part of it works in a way I agree with Believe me there's plenty other things I have issues with. Here's something you might be interested in: Wiki or Google Libertarian Socialism.

  • Chomsky. lawl

You're not really addressing the central issue in my previous month-old post. American society is NOT founded upon the absolute right of the majority, it is founded upon the protection and respect of the natural rights of the individual.

The cap-and-trade/environmentalist fanatics (and by association, you) want to tell me how to live for the good of "the planet." Well I tell you to %^$& off and leave me and my standard of living alone.

  • "...but that's the unfortunate way way modern democracy works. I'm just lucky that part of it works in a way I agree with"

Do you have any idea how moronic your political philosophy is? "I'll support the stuff I like, but when THIS EXACT PROCESS IS TURNED AGAINST ME, I'LL WONDER WTF JUST HAPPENED AND WHINE ABOUT THE INJUSTICE!!!"

The issue itself is irrelevant. Once the majority can tell us how to live "green" then they will just pick another bogey man later. Oceania or Eastasia maybe?

  • I was actually implying that I agree with you on that matter, but you obviously can't take a hint. Anyway, while the topic of this video does address political freedom somewhat it mainly deals with climate change and we should go back to that.

  • Would make sense if there was any evidence to support the claim that climate change is man made through CO2. No, your government scientists dont even believe it.

  • @l2me3

There is widespread acceptance of evidence that directly correlates CO2 emissions with global temperature increase. Google the hockey stick graph and make new conclucsions based on evidence from both sides. There's a lot to read out there but it's worth it.

  • human-induced rising CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere is only one of many contributing factors to climate change, but significant enough. cap & trade is flawed but a necessary intermediate solution.

the issue isn't "boo to my rising utilities bill". it's "use less energy or we will face mass extinction in 50 years".

conservatives commit intellectual fraud just to push their populist, misguided agenda. we can't sustain our current living standards by polluting like we do, fact.

  • lmao yea we are supposed to trust the scientists who forged data about global warming? i've been saying it from day 1 global warming is bullshit. its just a hoax like y2k and the like. the planet has been around for billions of years it can take care of itself. get off your "go green" horse and take that shit elsewhere

  • @pnut3844

why are we supposed to trust laypeople like you who just claim that it's a hoax? do you have any data to disprove it?

the evidence for global warming is overwhelming, meticulously gathered for decades and thoroughly corroborated by thousands of scientists from every country in the world.

noone has anything to gain from this fact, esp. not china or the US, but we all have everything to lose if we let it go out of control.

how could one keep a lid on such a massive conspiracy anyway?

  • wait wait, do you have any data to prove its true? o, you thought you did. u trusted those "scientists" who claimed they had data to prove it. the question isnt why should u believe me its why should you believe those lying asshole who stole our tax money for themselves. there is no "evidence" for global warming dont give me that shit. and really? how could one keep a lid on a big conspiracy? if you're serious about that question you're not worth my time. the gov knows way more than u ever will

  • @pnut3844

did German climatologists steal your money? do u pay taxes to the UK MET office? did Chinese agents steal ur wallet to fund CNC-IHDP? they can't possibly all be mistaken about the same conclusions based on decades of painstaking research. noone wud've gained from this.

u're free to ignore the facts and firmly believe it's a lie. obviously, nothing i can show u or tell u will change ur mind. if it weren't for these "lying assholes", u wudve been roasting under the ozone holes alredy.

  • "how could one keep a lid on such a massive conspiracy anyway?"

    They haven't.

But then again, you make it a point of relying on your "Appeal to Authority" fallacy when discussing global warming, so you don't have any genuine desire to find evidence to undermine the "consensus" of "thousands of scientists"

If you're intellectually honest, Google and read a handful of the more racy East Anglia emails.

  • "the issue isn't "boo to my rising utilities bill". it's "use less energy or we will face mass extinction in 50 years"."

    LAWL

I'll tell you what, you get in line behind the 2012 guys... over there next to the Y2K people, the Killer Bee lobby, Hale Bopp club, and the Nostradamus fanboys.

Call me when ANY of your fear mongering doomsday nonsense comes true :)

If you sincerely believe that the humaity could face extinction from global warming within the next 50 years, then you are a MORON!

  • of course CO2 isn't a POLLUTANT, it's a GREENHOUSE GAS.

a high CO2 concentration keeps the sun's heat trapped in the atmosphere, thereby contributing to global warming.

climate change is the overall trend of AVERAGE increasing temperature worldwide over the last 100 years. it's a fact and is completely non-related to seasons.

  • So what? Roman colonists used to have vineyards on the British Isles. Greenland was named that because Viking settlers actually grew crops there (the name wasn't some medieval joke).

Earth's climate changes, as it has since the planet cooled enough to have a solid surface. Human life existed (and even thrived) during periods that were both much warmer and much cooler than we have today.

It seems unreasonable to me to assume that THIS time, the earth's climate evolution will kill us all.

  • The thing is with this kind of stuff is that the government knows they can get away with it. All our empty threats are just going to amount to nothing in the end. They'll pass it, we'll rant and tirade and complain and then we'll just settle down, learn to live with it, then forget all about it. It happens everytime.

  • also, if you like co2 that much, put a plastic bag on your head and enjoy :)

  • this tax is designed to bankrupt all bisiness in america if you cant see that your blind. mr pink do you work for the united nations or Al Gore i think you must be a shill for some kinda money grubers who will profit from this tax.

  • srsly, how dumb you've got to be to believe this ?

the more co2 the greener the trees ? I lol'd hard

  • Sromrpink, do you actually know what CO2 is?

  • Dude, take basic science class, the higher the co2 levels the faster crops and trees grow its a fact! Co2 promotes growth so they would be greener than without!

  • Mr. Pink do you thik you are imune from the carbon tax because the Bilderburg group is meeting Copenhagen to impose a world wide Carbon tax on everyone in December that will devastate the world economy. You will not be escaping this tax just because you dont live in America.

  • already paying 65% taxes. I would say welcome to all the new taxes those politicians bring us (sarcasm)

what you guys apparently don't see that this tax is made by the big companies for the big companies.

they just made up another excuse to produce their products in china.

    cheaper production = more profit

more people without jobs in western countries = much easier to control

you ask why ? because unemployed people don't give a damn about taxes.

  • @SROMrPink Are you an idot SROMrPink! Did you go to the 3rd grade? A 5 year old learns that plants breath c02 and exhale oxygen! I wonder why a plant would be greener and healther with more c02...maybe because thats what it breaths. Thanks to schmucks like you who believe all this global warming, climate change, or whatever they want to call it next to try and make more people believe it, all of us will be giving million if not billions to the liars like Al gore.

  • @ddraper12 thanks for making me giggle at this video once again. JUNK SCIENCE LOLOLOLOLOL.

  • i don't care about any of this.

  • Which is why the country is going to pot. The next lazy generation "doesn't care." Thanks dude.

  • it's more because i hate america. you're welcome anyway though.

  • You just want our money and you dont want to work for your own get a job and quite being a hater.

  • that's right. i just want your money and i don't want to work for my own. that's what it all comes down to.

  • I know what you mean!!! The United States is the most giving country the world has ever Known which is obviously why we must hate it, right?

  • that's right.

  • LOL speaking as a part of the up and coming generation, I plan on learning Mandarin and getting the hell out of here. America's a sinking ship imo

  • @jenndouglas1 i do bro pricks like him could die under a rock

  • after watching this i feel that american people are acualy more dumn than the 8 mins it took to watch it

  • Your the the more dumb one... if you dont belive this, you just need to take a basic science class and learn that carbon is the basis for all living life forms and its not a polutant and if you think cap and trade tax is not coming to your part of the world then you better think again. Elite will tax everyone thats why they are meeting in Copenhagen this next month in December. to impose a world wide carbon tax on every living human being. And you sir will suffer just as greatly as we will.

  • Wow!!!! Judging by your spelling, and grammar, and sentence structure, we should all be learning from you. Thanks so much for your insight.

I can understand a couple of errors, but you really butchered your own statement.

  • ignorant

  • I don't think global warming, which has been endorsed by more than 40 scientific societies and academies of sciences is a hoax. It's not something Al Gore made up.

Heck even my environmental science teacher believes it to be true and taught it in class.

It's not Co2, but the greenhouse effect that is the problem. Co2 actually can be toxic.

Maybe cap and trade isn't the right solution, maybe it is, I don't know; We just need to be responsible and take care of our planet.

  • ehhh go to north jersey famers....

  • By informing the general public, you allow them take control and help shape the future of their own country.
