and some more identifying things we have and carry, all of our radios are motorola with the lime green rubber housing and we use boston leather radio straps with shoulder mics last but not least all of our department command vehicles are 2009 or newer ford expeditions,or 2009 or newer chevy tahoes, they are all white and say kcfd in red on the side and on the rear side windows it will give rank ie: battalion chief,ems, division chief, they all will have federal signal vision...

fire alarm, the ladder company had just downgraded from a code response but was still advised to continue in, the tahoe did pass them and was seen in the area of the fire alarm scene and after all units cleared the buisness owner reported that the subject parked in the fire lane of his buisness and entered identifying him self as a kcfd "supervisor" when asked for his id he stated it was in his truck and went to get it and fled the area, he has showed up at about 5 working fire calls...

and conviction of this person, here are the details: early 20's white male, height 5'6, shaved head, his vehicle a white 1998 chevrolet tahoe,it is a police package tahoe with the single square headlights and black wheels with silver chevy center caps and driver side spot light, this vehicle was witnessed by an off duty firefighter,"running code 3" lights and siren behind one of our ladder trucks about 5 cars back, the ladder co officer also noted the vehicle while responding to a commercial...

these assholes ruin it for everybody,iam a firefighter paramedic in a rural community and i have a 08 tahoe issued to me that is white unmarked with l.e.d.s in the interior and when im running code hardly anybody yielded, and my dept had to finally mark the tahoe with reflective orange striping and our dept name and had the rear hatch done with yellow and blue reflective chevrons,and it's still hard to respond code in my pov everyone fails to yield

A while back there was a report of a Washington State Patrol trooper noticing a white unmarked CV pulled over behind an suv with red and blue led's in the windshield. First off you don't use your name over the radio. In our department we are issued a badge number which we use also as our call number when using the radio so the dispatcher will know which officer is making the call. We also use police 10 codes when needing assistance. I think this dispatcher caught on real quick, at least I hope she did.
