  • Nice tone in the real register. Pedal tones are pointless and the so-called C4 is unmusical and silly.

  • Reminds me of coach beast. But damn, I suck even at c above stave

  • 2nd lowest note was an F#, not a C, and the lowest wasnt a note...certainly not a C0 8 or whatever the fuck that is

  • So, I can do that and I play every 10 yrs for an hour to see if I still can!!! Keep it up for a whole hour of playing something worth hearing and that might be impressive!!!

  • thats hard as fuck but it doesn't sound very good lol

  • nice tone but upper register sucks

  • holy god thats low. you sir have talent.

  • not even close to on tune

  • Lol press 1, then press 9 Notice any colour change?

  • Like a boss

  • like a boss

  • tico tico!!!!!!!!!!!! love that piece.

  • Tone sucks ! :-(

  • He just gets redder and redderand redder

  • i swear my ears popped at 0:51

  • Well, with a basset clarinet, one can make SIX octaves. hahahaha

..........just forget it; you are really talented & miraculously fluent!!

  • The title is confusing...I only heard him do the low C0, through..C4. Why does it say 'reaches 7'? I was reviewing because I busted my PR last night :-). Which feels pretty good since I'm 51 now and took years off functionally before trying to resurrect my lip. I hit the E above the C he hit in college in the early 80's. Last night I used an Olds Special instead of my old Ambassador with 12B4 mouthpiece. The Bach 10C last night achieved the G over double C and it amazingly sounded good!

  • 0:48 oh, my tea is ready!

  • すごい!!

    面白い(^_^)

  • 98% of professional trumpet playing is from F# below the staff to Eb above the staff. Nobody pays money to see a trumpeter playing pedal tones, and most people aren't there just to hear the screamers. In fact, the only people paying attention to the screamers are other trumpeters.

  • @AllStarBugler Correction, the only people paying attention to the screamers are other trumpeters that can't scream.

  • @AllStarBugler I totally agree. I have just picked up the trumpet after a 30 year break, and I'm not interested in going anywhere near any note above the staff until I have great tone and control below it. May take me another 30 years, but hey, everyone needs a challenge.

  • @AllStarBugler no way! I can hit that with ease, and I'm a sophomore in college. Maybe I should'ave taken up music instead of computer science...

  • @Salamander014 No. You made the right move. No money in music, especially for novelty acts.

  • @AllStarBugler so true

  • que mediocre eres... la trompeta es para cantar con ella no para hacer ese tipo de estupideces gafo..

  • Yea...fyi your lowest note was actually C2...not C0....so ya...that would make it not 7 octaves fyi

  • Nice control on those pedal tones!

  • 0:27 it´s not a C0, it´s a C1, because the C0 would be inaudible.

  • i like the tone quality of this trumpet player, although his upper register could use a little improvement

  • It sounds like a tea kettle

  • awesome

  • Get your pinky outa the ring lol

  • @foleysucks3021 that doesnt mess up your playing if he wants to he can

  • just lettin ya know, flat fingers are bad for your valves

  • @truebugleboy Miles Davis played with flat fingers.

  • How did you hit that really low pedal C? I can get a clean C below low C out, but one I get to G below that, I can't keep a good seal on my lips.

  • @synystetandrew the thing he plays is a variation in a solo titled "Tico Tico". It a fun little piece. I played it a few years back at a solo and ensemble contest.

  • hahaha, it looks like hes having a orgy at the end xD

  • ummm... by the way you fail at music theory... the "C0" you played was a concert Bb2 the and the highest was a Bb6

  • Unless I'm mistaken this is from Carnival of Venice right?

  • Playing C4? No wonder my speakers exploded.

  • that was amazing!!

  • You can play between C0 and C3 with 2 pedal notes. Keep working on you air support on the double high C and triple high C. This was just sqeeking instead of playing a note.

  • Muito..musica brazileira Tico Tico no Fubá...

    Parabéns.

  • Comment removed

  • last note was not a C4. sorry. a C4 is the C right below the treble clef staff.

  • @marktremontirules1 sure it was

  • The pedal tones he played there = the key to high notes. As well as lip slurs, etc.

  • cafone della tromba

  • you have amazing tone

  • That is a priceless face he's making.

  • PATHETIC DOUBLE HIGH C. Its a SQUEEK... NOT a note. I can queek all the way up to a triple high C but thats not playing the note. You deffinately need A LOT more air. Gah.

  • the last note was definitely not C0. I'm pretty sure he only reached C2.

  • Maybe this is the recording's fault, but this guy's articulation is just awful. Way to hard on the tongue. Tone is...good...Idk. Must not be a good recording, I'll leave it at that. Then again, this it just YouTube. No need to go critiquing every trumpet video I see. Lol.

  • all i got to say is damn! Your good!

  • Thank you for posting this video!

    Cool stuff.

  • wow nice, I can't get above g below that at the moment

  • 0:25 o.o

Wicked awesome, man! I had no idea a trumpet could go that low.

  • Really great pedal notes. You've got a lot of strength!

  • The high notes tht he is playing isnt really tht hard it just takes practice i have done it and i am 14. u can also try and cheat and do it by drinking cold water

  • @Renendan Bull. most people can't play an octave lower than the C he played when they're 14.

  • @pipamusa well if u practice u can but it blows ur lips quick.....or u could just drink cold water for a little while and then the blood vessels in your lips wont get as weak so quick then you can hit higher and sustain the high note longer. And u can think tht its bull but i dont give a fuck because i have done it and i dont need some guy telling me that i cant ^^

  • @Renendan please post a video of you doing it

  • 0:26

    HOW????????????????

  • @MGT1996 its called a pedal tone, its easy

  • @MGT1996 if you dont know what that is, you are definately not in high school.

    you are a LIAR!!

  • he's good.

  • not bad

  • great job!! Go Charlie!!!! Where did you get the notes?

  • this guy kicks ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

any of you losers who think otherwise are simply jealous!!!

This guy is the real deal!!!!!!!!!!

  • The melody is incorrect.

  • tico tico!!!!! :)

  • why cant use your upper lip on pedal tones? if it gets down there it should be fine. . .

  • @MHSRULES12 ever try switching from just your upper lip to your regular playing style quickly? it just doesnt work.

  • @Transane Exactly man. The whole purpose is not to change your embouchure at all when you use pedal tones. Pedal tones are an air flow exercise and tongue position exercise. Those are the two ingredients for high playing, not chop strength.

  • @ goldennecho ??? the C that is one line below the treble clef staff in c1. the names of the notes he played are all correct.

@ BoosieT the correct term for C0 is just c (lowwercase for notes above the c below c1.) and then the C below is C (uppercase.)

Very nice range! I wish I had that kinda range on trumpet.

  • holy shit, SKILLS!

  • your pedal note was a fake i saw u use ur top lip only

  • so true, this is weak

  • what song is he playing????

  • tico tico

  • You do know that "middle C", the C one ledger line below the treble clef, is C4 right?

The squeel you made would be C7.

And the low note you pushed out C2.

  • @goldenecho depends on what instrument you are talking about, which can be very confusing when talking to a keyboardist

  • @goldenecho this only fits for the US ;)

  • @goldenecho i thought middle C was C3?

  • @Dalbeeeeeee1 C4 is Middle C, but the trumpet is a transposing instrument, in the key of Bb, so he actually played several octaves of a concert Bb.

  • @goldenecho Five Octaves of grade A shit.Dewey Lil Miles Jones

  • But the guy can play, I don't understand why everyone wants to be the Rush Limbaugh of YouTube comments and act like masters. You all sound like drunk, ignorant cartoon characters.

  • @violanza Yeah I agree. EVeryone is an expert when they comment on youtube

  • Minear Method!!!!!.....u need it.

  • im soo screwed. i have a playing test in band and i most likely will get moved down to 3rd chair becuase i cant reach the really high notes.

  • practice them ;)

  • I agree with James. I just call it finding the pitch of the note, not playing it. I deffinately agree that Maynard can hit a real double C. This was a childish sqeek that many teenage trumpet players get excited about cause they know how to find high pitches.

  • i like my high notes a weeee bit louder.

  • noob

  • Isn't a pedal C on trumpet a C3? Like one octave below middle C?

  • nope.its above the staff.

  • tuba ftw

  • That wasn't a real double C.

Listen to Maynard Ferguson or Jim Morrison play a double C. They not only hit the note, but they fucking play it out. If a bird was chirping, no one would've heard that double C over the bird chirp. No offense, but I don't understand trumpet players who barely squeak out bull shit that might register on a strobe as a "Bb" and think they're playing the note.

  • arturo sandoval. enough said.

  • so true

  • nice petal tones, the "c4" sounds ok too

  • The last C is not very loud or under control. I dont count it as valid. If it aint solid it just aint...

  • if he playing on C4 hes head will blow up :D but its a nice vid with nice melodies

  • i can do 5 octaves on my tuba

  • tuba is incredibly easy to do the lower pedal tones. Not so much on trumpet.

  • never said it wasnt, but higher is also incredibly hard. im working on 6 octaves richt now actually, what do you play?

  • trumpet. Yeah, I had my fair share of fooling around with a tuba in high school. The lower notes seemed so much easier than the mid range. But i wasnt sure what exactly the notes I was playing was. Just the Bb's.

  • yeah i know what you mean

  • Because it's a B-flat trumpet. ;-)

  • @BossieT Bb's are the best! :D

  • Your a fucking retard

  • idk any reason why, i just know thats the way it is lol

  • @andytrox duhhhhhhhhhhh

  • @andytrox for a typical B-Flat trumpet player, their music is written in the key of B-Blat. So a concert b-flat written in their music shows up as a C.

  • @andytrox someone's never heard of transposition...

  • @andytrox Because trumpet is in Bb

  • what song is that?

  • Thaman333,

That's my interpretation of 'tico tico'...

    Sort of.

    BossieT

  • @BossieT dude my name is in this song lmao im special

  • It is a brazilian tune called "Tico Tico no Fubá" !

    Regards from Brazil

  • @thaman3333

It is called "Tico Tico no Fubá"

  • tip. curved fingers lets you finger the notes faster.

  • Let's see your vid. faggot.

  • That C 2 octaves down is the best. :D

  • HAHAHAH! I loved it. Nice! I like that Tico Tico song!

  • that is a note?! SHIT!

  • :D thats awesome dude

  • nice job!

  • lol dude you look like a tomato at the end.

    good job though

  • Very nice, most ive ever done was five octaves of G. alot of these people giving you hate are jealous. haha

  • Thats the first thing i notice too your straight fingers. . i play the same way too and when i hired this bad ass teacher that graduated from USC . . he told me i was playing wrong and i can be better if i curl my fingers. .

  • yeah his fingers are completely straight, but hey, it seems to be working for him.

  • squeeking doesnt count as a note btw

  • if there's a pitch, it's a note

  • Jeez, I can understand how you get that high, but that low?!?! I can't hit anything under an A under the bar! I SUCK at low notes. XD

  • U can't get hight cause u cant get low, when u go on low notes u uses more air than in the high, so try study the stamp, will help u in this.

  • wow, honestly my mouth dropped down to the floor. you are amazing and im telling all my band friends about you!

  • hes good. but not full enough sound on the c4

  • ma pffavor :D

  • Brazilian music: "Tico-Tico no Fubá" (composed by Zequinha de Abreu), i.e. a little bird (Zonotrichia capensis) eating a maize flour, cornmeal (Fubá).

  • that was excellent technique, and excellent sound and rhythm.

  • what are you doing to get such a bright sound? i love it.

  • poopy

  • oh, im sorry. that sucks that your douche bag burst..that sucks man....you'll never be able to have kids.

  • Oh shiite, my douche-bag burst @ 0:53 !!

  • Fantastic!

  • :] i like that little sigh at the end

  • Nice demonstration of the full range of the trumpet.

  • Did he pass out after the video? Well, that sounded.

  • The Last tone what hes playing is an C3 ! at the C2 hes playing an E2

  • I beleive that's called the "ArmStrong" method...

I feel sorry for his chops.

  • Do it better. You barely got the pitch.

  • Ha... sounds like my double C... love the kiss off!

  • WOW! That Sounded.

  • c4 was weak

  • Seriously, check out Matt Gallagher playing Danny Boy

  • Isn't it 15 bassa since it's 15va and 15vb.

  • Is that tico tico?

  • yep

  • That is believable...

  • umm..halfway decent...but ya lift teh eyebrows and that "c" will come at a lot quicker...when i was training for stuff like that i had to learn that the hard way...so there you go..your welcome :)

  • Umm...I dont even play trumpet and i know that your fingers arn't supposed to be straight like that.

  • idiot. its personal style. you only yell at people's hand posture if the right hand is almost completely gripping the trumpet (like the left hand, except fingertips way over the valves). Having your fingers straight actually helps speed up your playing.

  • That is incorrect, when your fingers aren't bent at the knuckle you engage more muscles in the forearm. Bending the knuckles enables the muscles on the top of the hand to be used exclusively. More finite muscle control, faster playing. Not as powerful, but faster.

  • Oh fuck off with hand position shit.

If the guy can play his instrument who gives a fuck.

I'm sure you probably play with some form of technique or concept that others would bitch about to you. No one is perfect.

  • seriously my music teacher was always on my ass about how i held my trumpet... um hello who cares it doesn't affect my playin what so ever and if it does it makes it better since its more confortable!

  • Yeah your right, your TEACHER doesn't have better judgment about trumpet than you.

  • I agree with you stephenok711. How could a TEACHER possibly know how to play trumpet as well as YOU the student. Cyndonia, It will affect your jaw, teeth, wrist and possible disabling things like TMJ, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and other lifelong problems. You certainly can deal with that.

  • When people develop bad habits, it kinda sticks...mine are half-way straight instead of curved like they should, they are half-way curved for me

  • lighten up those eyebrows :)

  • i got 8 e's
